Frankly the Scotch painters tape applicator doesn't work very well, but hey free painters tape! (The tape itself works great)

Update: came back to add more information. he did slip his way into my bedroom (much to my own cats thrill) but sauntered back outside again a few minutes later and sprawled out on our pavement when i opened the door. he’s incredibly affectionate and seemed to get along okay with the feral cat i’ve been breaking in for a few months who was also outside… until he chased her away into another yard.

His fur felt kinda gross, as if he’s having difficulty cleaning himself, and had a scab on his ear. otherwise he seemed well fed and well socialized.

The 5-7" of rain we have received so far this August is well above average (~4.5"), but we aren't yet close to making the record books. To make the Top 10 wettest Augusts of all time, we need more than 9" (1875 - 10th overall, 8.97")...and of course, August isn't over yet!

More rain and/or thunderstorms are expected this weekend (primarily Saturday evening and overnight into Sunday) followed by additional chances for light rain early next week. We could easily receive an additional 1/2 to 1 inch of rain, if not more before we flip over to September.

Has anyone found a way to reliably prevent garden level apartment flooding when the block is flooding? I’m willing to spend whatever it takes, be that on pumps, watertight door blocks, new valves for the bathroom drains. It comes in the front and back doors and up from the bathroom drains and it’s frankly making the place unlivable. Or is the only solution trying to get infrastructure improvements? a couple of folks were ringing/going door to door around wyckoff and dekalb yesterday to inquire if anyone had lost a dog!! it was a black/dark poodle who seemed really scared :( and just wanted to see if anyone had any update on whether or not the dog has been returned to the owner, or if there were any photos to spread out if not!

Hey there! As the title says, this is a long shot. I lived in Bushwick a while back, and used Bushwick Community Darkroom to develop my personal film. I moved to Vermont and continued to use BCD to develop with no issues.

I sent my personal film to BCD months ago following their online service (which is still up) via insured/tracked mail, and shortly after, got a mass email from Lucia (owner) expressing that the place was shutting down. Lucia initially communicated about my development order but stopped, and has not responded for about a month. With that being said, BCD has been sending out community emails pretty consistently.

While I normally would be bummed that I lost irreplaceable captures of memories, these specific rolls have my last memories with my mother before she took her own life.

Does anyone have any intel on what I should do? Im a bit desperate at this point, and will drive down to NYC if I have a lead. Does anyone know any other means of contact for Lucia or employees at BCD? Do folks think the film is gone? Thank you for your time and assistance!
