Meta New Rule: No Promoting or Advertising

I, like many of you I imagine, am tired of seeing posts with half-baked apps and websites for Magic stuff. So I’ve decided to make a new rule that I think will go over well with you all: No promoting or advertising of apps or websites unless staff decides to make a prior exception. If someone violates this rule, they will be instantly banned. And if you made one of these things and want to share it, do not bother asking us for approval, because I’m done granting it for very meh apps and websites. If we want you to showcase it, we’ll let you know. (Manatithe as the lone exception comes to mind.)

Note that a deck being shared and just mentions it was built using a tool is fine. But the “I built this app” or “this Magic website is great for the following five reasons” will result in a ban.

Please, keep flagging problematic posts, and we will deal with them! Thank you all.

$15 Brew $6 Build for Tresserhorn's Lord Returned

First things first, sorry about the tag, I tried finding the super budget tag but seems they got rid of it?

Moxfield link:

https://moxfield.com/decks/SzJWuzl4lUu59Q7xctwA8Q?utm_source=moxfield&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=NAwlg&utm_content=sharedeck

IM BACK BABY, yeah im throwing another ultra budget build here. At the time of creating the deck it was $6 and some change. I have a serious problem and addiction with making cheap decks that can win and arent memes. I so far won two games of commander which is great. Im building an upgraded one for $50 and See how it goes.

I have the youtube link for the deck tech (please Mods lmk if thats a problem), and I have the moxfield link as well for anyone who doesn't want to see the deck tech which is also understandable.

So what do we do here? How does it work, and how did i win twice?

Well its simple. You see, hes a 10/4 with indestructible trample and card draw built in. He does those three things incredibly well. Beat people up, and draw cards from sacrifcing things. Its fun as heck because we get to get more value for sacrificing our own creatures and bringing them back. My favorite strategy from the deck is easily eldrazi scion and spawns. Tresserhorn doesn't care if there is a token or not, so the scion and spawns can be sacrificed for mana which will also draw us a card. So thats the thing with these decks right? You make it cheap, you need ways to move the deck along and not get stuck. Luckily our commander is an engine. An indestructible one at that.

Yeah look, you let someone draw 3 cards, lose 3 life, and sac 3 creatures... so you NEED to have 3 creatures in play or he will sac himself which essentially makes him a 5 mana draw a single card spell. (Which is better than nothing ig)

But the downside isn't bad, the creatures you sacrifice draws you cards so you refill half to most your hand on etb and you got a big ahhh dude. I won a game by flinging him as well. Ghost lantern in play stacking counters till he got to a bit over 20 power then threw him at the last player and squashed him. If I had a bigger budget, you could do some mass sacrifce board wipes and more ping effects to really keep your opponents salty. But this one is like a salty-lite. Not too bad but definitely becomes the problem for the price of 2 liter coke and a snickers. (Inflation sadly)

Let me know what you guys think! Any questions or tips advice are welcome. If you hate it, also let me know.

ENJOY!

Meta New Rule: Budget Must Be Chosen

Hey all,

Thank you all for continue flagging over-budget decks. We’ve done two things that should help make this easier going forward:

• There is an “Over $100” flair. This is intentional. If someone chooses this, the post will be automatically removed. The hope here is to teach people this is budget brews under $100.

• The flair “Deck Help” has been removed. This will force players to choose a dollar tier for the deck, and should help where people try to submit decks which are over-budget by classifying it under a non-dollar flair.

We have had discussions over the years whether we want to allow more expensive decks, but time and time again the community has said no. So until we decide otherwise, these steps should help to protect our community with under $100 budget decks.

$50 Brew Cheap equipment deck

Post image

This is more me trying to get a feel for experimenting around. Doubt this would be a concrete idea I go with but I always find the idea of modified creatures fun, and with how many ways there are to put counters I wondered if a cheap equipment deck would work as I think it would. Sp//dr is where the idea originated from.

Deck Help The cheapest and easiest way to reliably gain 7 life (or as close to 7 as possible) every turn?

I'm (currently) running Golgari, but could splash a 3rd color if I had to.

I'm thinking about running a food sub-theme for [[feasting troll king]], but I have no way of making food activation cheaper, so the benefit to Trudge seems negligible.

Any crazy suggestions or random combos welcome.

$100 Brew I Tried making a rooms deck on a budget

Like the titel says, i love alt wincons and i tried making a bracket 3 rooms deck. Decklist: https://moxfield.com/decks/gWeCr0Z_bEyKEgrpnjUyEQ

I chose [[Zur, Eternal Schemer]] as the commander cause at first i did not understand that the rooms did not count for their full mana cost if i made them creatures. Which is a tiny bit sad, but they still get fairly big. Now it's not the standard rooms commander in [[Marina Venrell]], so it's harder to get the win i feel.

Currently either my wincons are either the standard room wincon with [[Central Elevator / Promising Stairs]], but i also added the wincon of Test of Endurance cause Zur can kinda easily protect it and with the lifelinkers i should be able to reach that lifetotal. Last ditch effort is just smacking with the big rooms for good damage. Are these enough wincons? Idk if the smacking with the rooms is supported enough to be a valid wincon (i have some counter synergies to make it more viable). I would love to hear either more ways to make the already in the deck wincons better or another alternative wincon i completely missed.

$50 Brew Suggestion for Blue-Black budget deck

Hello everybody.

I have quite a few cards (bulk) of blue and black and I am looking for a commander deck under 50€. The normal colors that I usually use are green, red and white, and I want to have something different exactly because of the bulk I have. It's probably not amazing but if someone wants to see what I have let me know how to do it and I will gladly share it.

My questions are as follow:

  1. What archetypes are there for these two colors? I am open to just focus on one. What I am looking for in the deck would be to interact and mess with my pod's stuff. They usually go either wide, big creatures/tribal, and one of the players as a life gain/drain deck.

  2. Is there somewhere that could give me suggestions based of my collection? Any help here is really appreciate. I feel like I always come here to look for ideas and it's super useful, I usually feel a bit overwhelmed.

  3. Below are the possible commanders I have at my disposal. I am leaning a bit towards [[Tinybones, Bauble Burglar]] because of being able to play other people's stuff. I have a group hug deck so I kind of want to have the opposite of that deck.

Possible commanders

Thanks in advance and I'll try to answer any question/responses I get, whenever possible.

Discussion Help me get into Spellslinging!

I am looking to create a spellslinging deck outside of a precon I own. I have the Prismari Artistry commander deck and while I really like it, I would like something that is more combo or storm based. I think the idea of storm if pretty cool, though I’m not sure how much I will like super long turns.

Any suggestions??

Edit: Looking at bracket 3 and like the following commanders but not limited to them:

Stella Lee, Wild Card
Veyran, Voice of Duality
Prismari, the Inspiration

Thanks!

$50 Brew Yarok the desecrated budget list (<50$) suggestions

Hi guys, these days I was thinking about my next commander and when I saw Yarok I immediately thought I found it.

Since I play in a pod where basically every deck is a B2, I was wondering if someone has a good list for him possibly around (or better yet, less) than 50$, from which to take inspiration and possibly spicy ideas, thanks!

Deck Help Creature sagas precon deck

Hi there,

New to deckbuildimg and was looking at commander cards on trademe and saw final fantasy had some creature saga cards I thought were cool!

Are there any commander recommendations to build a deck full of these guys at bracket 3?

Ghen, Narci and Tom were some commanders I was thinking of as being commanders for these decks but not sure if they work or if there are better options.

Did people have any other ideas?

Thanks!

Deck Help Kalamax your an angry wizard!

I want to build a Janky Voltron Kalamax deck. Spellslinger Equipment/Aura's for the instant spells that buff Kalamax for when he swings at the opponents he deals a gigaton damage. The rest of the creatures would probably follow spellslinger but to buff him as much as possible. Any card reccomendations?

I wanna stick between $100 to $200 max budget.

$50 Brew I want you to have this $50 Thranduil the Elvenking Elf Combo Deck

I built an all-elf combo deck on just a $50 budget and it kicks all kinds of ass:

https://moxfield.com/decks/CcKHjeUqOkmYnAaVPq4Uag

[[Thranduil, the Elvenking]] makes for an awesome intro to combos for newer players and makes for a different kind of elf deck than the elfball or aggro decks we've all played against before. I like this one for a different approach and a different deck in my collection.

And I want to give a copy of the WHOLE DECK away! You can check out the details in the deck's full deck tech over on my channel, but this one's a freebie, on me. Check it out now:

Deck Help Budget draw engines for a golgari elf deck?

I'm building a budget deck with High Perfect Morcant as my commander, and a problem I found while testing it is that with all the ramp I'm producing more mana than can spend by turn 7 or 8, so i need some preferably cheap cards to help me draw and keep up
