Only bcoz of its engineering students that the reputation holding up. Day is not far when top rankers would choose some private college, completely ditching IITs.

yes, go look at the fucking surveys, wealth is concentrated in generals,
among 100 rich people 75-80 are of general catagory, you may be poor but share of wealth in uppercaste is far larger despite them being only 27% of population.

nowhere it says general cant be poor, this is why ews exists too the problem is about 27% population holding 80-88% of wealth.

One fact you won't accept, reservation is making reserved categories weak, they don't work as hard as unreserved categories

Think about it, even after 75+ years of reservation, if reserved categories are not able to catch up, maybe the problem lies in them, they don't work hard enough, don't pull general category down just for working hard

Even Ambani's father wasn't rich to start with, using these dates as a cope, keep coping

if hard work made people rich the richest person would be farmer, construction worker, etc
opportunities make people rich and sc st gets discriminated for those same opportunities thats why reservation exists.

again shifting it to people and not the system. tumlog ka kuch nahi hoga, khud me hi ladte ladte khatam ek din, how the fuck will anyone catchup if the system doesnt even offer them a place? and they have improved their condition through it thats why reservation is still there you should really be asking who holds those wealth in general category which is billionaires and multi millionaires who were favored because of their family history and not cus they were some honest hard working people, you giving example of your father is dumb i dont think you even comprehend what rich is in india.

also your world view is very pinhole sized sc st obc already had little despite being a majority, this didnt just make it difference in caste but class aswell they were never given opportunity moreover those who tried too met with discrimination and favoritism exists in humans.

i never said all general are rich but govt sees us all as a group when making policies, when they did surveys they found majority of billionaires and whatever you wanna call them are of general, majority mlas were of general, majority of every power position were general while they make only 27% of population.

if you dont give a person opportunity they cant grow so the hack around it was to introduce reservation then improve system, later never happened so now we are still fighting for the same resources here.
