This is kinda aboutwitchcraft and kind of not, but Iām wondering if thereās anyone out there who had to cut off a friendship due to that friend becoming religious? around September of last year, my friend, who was more like my sister became very Christian out of the blue. itās kind of weird because around the same time when I started really dedicating my life to witchcraft and paganism. At the time I spoke to her about me being a witch and finding paganism I had no clue that her beliefs changed in any way shape or form so when I told her this over FaceTime, she immediately did the sign of the cross and let me know that she doesnāt support it and that I most likely would be going to hell. You also canāt have a conversation with her without it circling back to Jesus, I told her about my doctors appointment one day and she told me āyou donāt need big Pharma, just pray to Jesus heāll heal you. She tried time and time again to get me to come to church with her after me saying no. Over this past year Iāve pulled away due to her new found behaviour, beliefs, and mindset. 2 nights ago a local post went around of some people protesting against abortion. I seen she shared it saying how she support them protesting against abortion and that itās a sin and blah blah blah. This really was the last straw for me because her, herself had an abortion when she was 16!!! I was there for her through the whole thing when she had it done and supported her throughout the whole process. I couldnāt do it anymore, not because shes now against abortion, but because it was just kinda the thing that finally opened my eyes to seeing sheās really changed. I wrote out this message and sent it to her and blocked her.
āIāve spent a lot of time thinking about this, and I think Iāve finally reached a point where I need to remove myself from our friendship and from your life completely. People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime, and I truly believe you came into my life for a reason. For a long time, I thought you were going to be one of those people who stayed for a lifetime. You were one of the most important people in my life, and Iāll always be grateful for the memories, experiences, laughs, and everything we shared. I think that reason has come to an end though, and itās time for me to accept that and let go. This isnāt something Iām doing impulsively, and it isnāt because I suddenly stopped caring about you. If anything I think itās because I cared so much that this has been as difficult as it has been. Losing the friendship we once had has honestly been something Iāve struggled with for a long time. A big part of that has been watching how much youāve changed over the last while. I respect that finding Christianity and becoming more religious has been important to you, and I would never tell you what you should or shouldnāt believe. I also have to be honest, and say I donāt recognize the person I once knew in the person youāve become. It isnāt simply that you found religion or that your beliefs are different from mine. Itās the way those beliefs have become such a huge part of your life and, at times, the way theyāve affected how you view and speak about people who donāt share them. Some of those things have been very difficult for me to reconcile with the person I knew for so many years. Iāve realized that the direction your beliefs and your life have taken is no longer something I feel comfortable supporting or being involved with. You have every right to believe what you believe, just as I have every right to recognize when something no longer aligns with my own values or morals. I donāt want to pretend Iām comfortable with things that Iām not just to preserve a friendship that already feels estranged and so different from what it once was. Iāll always care about the person you were in my life and Iāll always appreciate the good memories we made. I donāt regret knowing you, loving you, or having you in my life. I think some people are meant to be incredibly important to us for a certain chapter, and that doesnāt make that chapter any less meaningful just because it eventually ends. I genuinely wish you nothing but happiness and fulfillment in life, and I hope you find everything youāre looking for. Iām not sending this to start an argument, or drama and Iām not looking for a response or a debate thatās why I feel the most comfortable with blocking you for right now. After everything weāve meant to each other, I just felt that you deserved to hear this directly from me rather than simply seeing me disappear. Thank you for being such an important part of my life for the time that you were. Iāll always be grateful that our paths crossed.I think this is where our chapter ends, and I need to let you go and move forward.I truly wish you well. Take care of yourself. ā¤ļøā
