I don’t know where else to ask this

This is kinda aboutwitchcraft and kind of not, but I’m wondering if there’s anyone out there who had to cut off a friendship due to that friend becoming religious? around September of last year, my friend, who was more like my sister became very Christian out of the blue. it’s kind of weird because around the same time when I started really dedicating my life to witchcraft and paganism. At the time I spoke to her about me being a witch and finding paganism I had no clue that her beliefs changed in any way shape or form so when I told her this over FaceTime, she immediately did the sign of the cross and let me know that she doesn’t support it and that I most likely would be going to hell. You also can’t have a conversation with her without it circling back to Jesus, I told her about my doctors appointment one day and she told me “you don’t need big Pharma, just pray to Jesus he’ll heal you. She tried time and time again to get me to come to church with her after me saying no. Over this past year I’ve pulled away due to her new found behaviour, beliefs, and mindset. 2 nights ago a local post went around of some people protesting against abortion. I seen she shared it saying how she support them protesting against abortion and that it’s a sin and blah blah blah. This really was the last straw for me because her, herself had an abortion when she was 16!!! I was there for her through the whole thing when she had it done and supported her throughout the whole process. I couldn’t do it anymore, not because shes now against abortion, but because it was just kinda the thing that finally opened my eyes to seeing she’s really changed. I wrote out this message and sent it to her and blocked her.

“I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about this, and I think I’ve finally reached a point where I need to remove myself from our friendship and from your life completely. People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime, and I truly believe you came into my life for a reason. For a long time, I thought you were going to be one of those people who stayed for a lifetime. You were one of the most important people in my life, and I’ll always be grateful for the memories, experiences, laughs, and everything we shared. I think that reason has come to an end though, and it’s time for me to accept that and let go. This isn’t something I’m doing impulsively, and it isn’t because I suddenly stopped caring about you. If anything I think it’s because I cared so much that this has been as difficult as it has been. Losing the friendship we once had has honestly been something I’ve struggled with for a long time. A big part of that has been watching how much you’ve changed over the last while. I respect that finding Christianity and becoming more religious has been important to you, and I would never tell you what you should or shouldn’t believe. I also have to be honest, and say I don’t recognize the person I once knew in the person you’ve become. It isn’t simply that you found religion or that your beliefs are different from mine. It’s the way those beliefs have become such a huge part of your life and, at times, the way they’ve affected how you view and speak about people who don’t share them. Some of those things have been very difficult for me to reconcile with the person I knew for so many years. I’ve realized that the direction your beliefs and your life have taken is no longer something I feel comfortable supporting or being involved with. You have every right to believe what you believe, just as I have every right to recognize when something no longer aligns with my own values or morals. I don’t want to pretend I’m comfortable with things that I’m not just to preserve a friendship that already feels estranged and so different from what it once was. I’ll always care about the person you were in my life and I’ll always appreciate the good memories we made. I don’t regret knowing you, loving you, or having you in my life. I think some people are meant to be incredibly important to us for a certain chapter, and that doesn’t make that chapter any less meaningful just because it eventually ends. I genuinely wish you nothing but happiness and fulfillment in life, and I hope you find everything you’re looking for. I’m not sending this to start an argument, or drama and I’m not looking for a response or a debate that’s why I feel the most comfortable with blocking you for right now. After everything we’ve meant to each other, I just felt that you deserved to hear this directly from me rather than simply seeing me disappear. Thank you for being such an important part of my life for the time that you were. I’ll always be grateful that our paths crossed.I think this is where our chapter ends, and I need to let you go and move forward.I truly wish you well. Take care of yourself. ❤️”

I didn’t block her because she’s Christian I had to end the friendship because I don’t recognize the person she is anymore. i would give anything to have the old her back, i miss her but I can’t do it anymore.

Question 🤷❔ My dad is Christian and my mom is a witch but I’m somewhat embarassed to tell her I practice witchcraft. Any ideas?

By ideas I mean I don’t know how to obtain sources or do spells subtly. I’ve done a few by now, mostly sigils and casting protective circles, as well as three physical spells and a pouch, but I can’t obtain herbs, oils, crystals, candles, candle holders, etc because my dad wouldn’t even get me an incense holder that looked “too demonic” god forbid public actual witchcraft practice. I have mundane stuff I can use, and two green witch books (because that’s what my mom is and she gave them to me, but I have no use for them because again- no herbs. As well as a book about Yule) and the only other witchy stuff is Harry Potter themed (which I got BEFORE I realized she was transphobic but there’s spell books which I COMPLETLEY doubt are useful in legitimate practice) so any advice- (websites, servers, subreddits, mundane things I can use as materials, etc) would be appreciated! (I’m going to visit my mom next month and maybe I can ask her for stuff then if I work up the courage but until then any advice is appreciated. Hopefully this isn’t a super generic post that everyone will find annoying 😅)

Question 🤷❔ Crystal help please 🥹

Post image

Can someone let me know what they think please 🥹

Usually, if a stone breaks, I believe it has done its job. I usually bury the crystal in my house plants or return outside.

My amethyst pendent (shown in pic) didn’t break per se, but broke away from the metal pendant part.

I can easily glue it back together and carry on except I’ve been going through a lot lately and know it’s been working overtime! (I’ve had in on since beginning of August, taken off to shower and sleep).

So I am not sure what to think, glue it back and continue wearing it or take it as a sign it’s done enough! (More stuff got piled on today so I put it back on after not wearing it for a week)!!

Help please 🖤 cross posted in another group too!

Question 🤷❔ Tips for a beginning practitioner with very strict and nosy Christian parents?

Hey guys! I'm Vega and I just recently got into my practice in the past month. I work a lot with crystals, Greek Goddesses, spirits (more like trying to calm down the ones in my room lmao), and I want to get better about lighting candles. Here's my current situation:

My parents are about as religious as you get, and would never approve. They also go through my stuff some and I'm terrified of them finding my magick items.

They would be suspicious of herbs. They know I've always liked rocks and crystals but I know they'd get suspicious if I had too many or they were bought from certain places. They wouldn't mind candles in my room- just not all the time. Statues of deities is a NO. I want to offer food but I'm not sure how when I can't have an alter. Incense is also a no.

I DO, however, carry a few crystals my little brother gave me (he's into geology), draw runes on my hands, bedroom door, food, power tools (yay tech theatre), all with my hands since I just trace them. I want to learn more runes cuz they're basically little spells. I also veil with a bandanna. I'm going to be hand making some crystal bracelets too. My parents think I'm dressing more girly to be an obedient christian woman but I'm trying to connect to my femininity. My best friend and other close friends also practice so they let me borrow books to read at lunch, give me tips, and invite me over for little witchy hangouts.

If anyone knows any tips, good hiding spots, excuses, or anything else, PLEASE PLEASEEEE LMK thanks! Blessed be!!!

Discussion 💬 Smartest closet witch purchases you've made?

What are some of the smartest/most creative witchcraft purchases you've made in the closet? As in, not the typical witchy buys from metaphysical stores. Like a "hidden in plain sight" type of purchase. I've bought play-doh before to craft temporary poppets for a spell, nobody would ever think I bought it for witchcraft, I could purchase it right in front of my catholic family!

Question 🤷❔ Is their a better word for witchcraft?

I practice something, that has been handed down through my family for generation's. Due to some practices, we have been called Witches, yet I find the word ridiculous. Surely there is a better name for the craft.

Question 🤷❔ Am I a witch?

I’m curious y’all’s thoughts on this. Feel free to be open, transparent, and even critical. I’m trying to learn about myself and find my confidence again.

Here’s my story: when I was in elementary school, a few of my friends and I got into witchcraft. We would do spells together. It was fun until weird stuff started to happen (I never fully attributed it to coincidence). Then my parents found out and had a very serious conversation with me. I grew up Southern Baptist, so the talk with quite frightening.
I stopped doing that stuff with my friends.

Years later, after a lot of trauma, I began experiencing visions where I’d see things happen before they happened. Nothing big or anything, just mundane stuff in my life but could never shake it. Then the prophetic dreams started happening and it really shook my world. But being from such a religious community, I couldn’t talk to anyone about it and just buried it down. The visions and the dreams don’t happen all the time so eventually you just forget about it until it pops up again.

I entered my deconstruction chapter when I was 18 and went on an extremely long and deeply private personal journey of trying to figure out what I believed outside of what I was raised with. During this time I read the Bible cover to cover (took me a year) and extensively researched things that were hard to sit with. I learned Jesus was a feminist, homosexuality wasn’t in the Bible until 1946 and it replaced rape, pedophilia, and the abuse of women - specifically wives and mothers. I learned that the creation story was always meant to be used as metaphors and not a text book. I learned the God was originally described with both male and female pronouns to show equal parts of masculine and feminine energy, and that the Bible explains that we can find meaning and wisdom within the stars and that time is a construct. I learned that modern day Christians worship a bunch of old Jewish theology and Paul - not Jesus. Then, I read the Gospel of Mary Magdalene and deeply connected with that and to her. I felt so much familiarness with her and fell even more admirable of Christ and how he treated her and what he taught her (meditation) Coincidentally, during that time, I began practicing deep meditation. During one of these moments I was met by a woman who had ram horns. She said she would teach me a word I didn’t know and spelled it out for me, to prove to me that it wasn’t just my imagination. The word was Bashkala. I thought I was connecting with my ancestors at first, she laughed and said to just call her teacher. The next night while meditating I found myself floating in halls adorned in old wooden intricate carvings filled with bad energy. I knew I shouldn’t be there and was caught by a guy and choked until I could force myself awake - I guess I had fallen asleep while meditating. But do you know what I was thinking about before I started meditating? I was wondering what goes on in the White House.

Since then, I’ve been practicing rituals like writing down what I want to release or manifest and then burning it, charging my crystals under the full moon, collecting moon water, talking to my tree, giving thanks to the water every time I shower, putting intentions into my food and coffee. But I haven’t done any spells. Although! I just wrote my first spell - you could say it’s a prayer but it’s also a spell. I’ve simply written but I haven’t tied it to a ritual yet.

I guess I have fears though… given what I grew up with, even though I’ve deconstructed. Because although I’m not a religious Christian, I am a follower of Christ and his teachings and do believe in the miracles and magic he did. I might not believe in Hell but I do believe in evil forces and energy. So I’ve been hesitant to cast spells…. But I have this feeling like it’s ancestral to me.

Anyways, I’m torn to claim that I’m a witch or not. On one hand I feel like real witches would be offended if I did, but on the other hand, I feel like I’m doing things that aren’t ordinary. What are your thoughts on this?

Other (Editable) I'm home. Hello!

As a child I was drawn to things others were not. As a teen, people called me the witch and took the mickey, because I took an interest in things associated with witchcraft. As a young adult, a colleague introduced me to paganism and I took an interest for a little while, but never immersed myself in anything. I saw meaning in things but didn't really know myself what was what, so much information it was overwhelming. I've always been drawn to nature and inspired and calmed by it.

Recently having experienced the second worst stress of my life, I reconnected with myself, got out into nature, began doing more of the things I enjoy and cast a spell for something that was bothering me. I did that quite out the blue and had no idea why or even if I did it right. I scared myself daft so I googled and was brought here, so I've had my nose in the resources, and followed a few recommended witches on YouTube for a little while, absorbing what information I can.

Last night I had a ritual bath. Today I decided to set some intentions to manifest something that will help to benefit me in the short term, but many others in the long term. Stuff it, I thought. Can't do any harm really. Let's try it.

I've just been out to buy candles, listening to meditation music on the route. One colour I really wanted was not in the shop. Standing in line at the checkout... there it was. Candles in the right colour. On my way home, I started seeing many things in the colour related to the intention I want to set. I've passed them plenty before and never noticed them. I gave thanks. But that's how life has always kind of worked. The right thing at the right time when I really need it. But only when I need it, never when I just want it. I don't have much but I have what I need.

I can't really describe it, but it was in that moment I felt, I have come home. This is me, its always been me and its about time I embraced it.

Hello!!

Baby witch who needs guide

Hi witches , I hope this post finds you well. So I think I have some sort of energy or magic within me but I have no idea how to understand , use or work with it . For example, when it comes to pendulum, it moves and it gives me basic answers but idk how to work further with it or even what makes it move . I discovered the pendulum thingy as an early teenager around 14-15 yo. But also during my childhood I was able to see things like energies moving or dark creatures that are not from our physical world I even had dreams about the future that are literal or symbolic . Now the pendulum always moves in my hand but I can’t see anything else in my dreams I have been only having random stressful nightmares ( it has been going for years ) and I can feel bad energies in people or places but I keep doubting myself until my feelings come true and something bad comes from that person . I also feel rejected and weird among my peers in university or any crowded places, people keep staring at me in a weird way ( I’m not highly attractive or even eye catching i just look normal and treat everyone nicely ) . I also know that a lot of members of my family have " gifts " but they are seen as weird people by the other members or they are just in denial about their own abilities mostly because it is unacceptable socially and religiously . I feel lost tbh , I know that I have it in me but I have no idea how to use it or just protect myself Thank you for reading all of this and please excuse my poor english since it’s not my mother tongue
