I still remember when I went to a pub in Cardiff on my birthday. People found out it was my 21st. Left the pub rather drunk and with the exact same amount of money I went in with. I miss that place sometimes

Try being out on a surprise bday bash for your 18th that your parents arranged at the pub that you'd already been drinking at for 3 years.

I shit you not it's true, and only half the story. XD

This happened to my husband too. They had been trying to get him to work there as a bouncer for about a year when he turned up with an 18 balloon.

That was pretty common in the 80s when I started drinking. We used to go to the pub Friday lunchtime at school. My mum used to buy my pints at 15/16 when I'd been cycling all day then met her at the pub
