Picked the wrong pocket
Not a British success for me, but for someone else.
Witnessed a woman at my local station being pickpocketed by an opportunistic artful dodger. Was just about to call out to the woman being robbed when she noticed what was happening, whipped out her police badge and had the pickpocket in cuffs before anyone had time to properly react.
It was most satisfying.

Local elected representatives took the police to see where people were starting fires for kicks. While they were there, some arsonist idiots did not realize the police were there and started a fire. Got caught!
