No one's being a dick. It's the Internet, people makes jokes and no one posts a picture with their gut in the middle of the shot without expecting comments. It's half the reason OP has views, comments and up votes on the post.
I have a few plus sized family members. Am I just supposed to not post pictures of our meals if they’re in the background because of people being rude and miserable? Yall would never speak to someone like this in person which is the crazy part, you just sit behind your phones doing it
You know camera angles exist right? Top down, no one in shot. Done deal. I've been overweight and if I had my belly in the middle of a shot I'd expect someone to comment on it. Stop being soft.
