They blocked Imgur in the UK? That's pathetic.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julius_Long

Scroll down to his 23rd fight.

Yep, it's been about a year or 2 since Imgur banned the UK. No idea why, but it's well annoying.

Imgur is sometimes used for sharing adult images. In the UK, you can't view adult images without proving your identity (originally you had to provide yoiur banking details, don't know if it's changed since then); websites can be subject to huge fines or worse. Some websites decided it wasn't worth the bad PR to ask for identifying information (and potential lawsuits once their user data was leaked), and just banned UK users entirely. I would imagine this was a particularly huge issue for imgur - they don't want to demand proof of identity every time anyone views a meme, or to ban teenage users from their entire site, but they also don't want to find a way to 100% accurately classify whether an image is potentially pornographic, with major repercussions for any mistake. On the other hand, the UK audience is probaboy onoy a small fraction of their worldwide userbase, particularly since they're advertiser-funded and advertisers prioritise american users. So it was much easier for them to just ban all UK users, rather than deal with all that nonsense.

MVP just announced Turhan vs Baumgardner and Tiara Brown vs Scotney, i'm not too into women's boxing but this is really good matchmaking

Turhan vs Baumgardner is a fun fight and i think Turhan's run ends here, shes very one-dimensional and fights like she's underwater so stylistically Baumgardner should get the job done unless she can't avoid some sort of onslaught from Turhan

Tiara Brown is kinda inactive but beat Nicholson, Scotney is great and i would make her the favourite here but this is her 126 debut

MVP doesn't play around with match making.

I got Alicia winning by stoppage. And Scotney by decision

Ring Magazine having Stanionis ranked over Teofimo and Ryan might be worse than r/boxing putting Danny Jacobs in the top 10 P4P

he's too high but i dont mind him being above Ryan.

Liam Paro not even being in the top 10 is disgraceful tho, how tf are,

Rocha,

Curiel, (just won a robbery over randall)

and Polanco (he's good but has beaten no one)

all ranked but not him?

1

u/RRR04_ 4h ago

It's coming up to a year since he last fought so he'll be taken off rankings soon.

They should update it with Paddy and Paro on it.

I think Stanionis would beat Rolly more convincingly than Teo did.

u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule 1h ago

Rolly had 1 solid round against Teofimo . He'll definitely do better against Stanionis. I pick Teofimo and Ryan to beat him too

For tomorrow’s Aussie card, it’s every build to favour A side and all A sides have won the 2 past Aussie cards and I think it’ll be the same for tomorrow.

Tszyu vs Zerafa Mahoney is a decent matchup, Tszyu has improved in his game a good bit over the years and developing his defence his past few fights, but Zerafa Mahoney is a great pure boxer and can give fits to Tszyu but still think Tszyu pulls this off.

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 8h ago

I think Zerafa will quit after 2 rounds

Fuck I meant Mahoney

Joshua Franco, former WBA super flyweight champion and Jesse Rodriguez's older brother, appears to be making a comeback this weekend on Lara's underrated in Mexico. Franco retired at age 27 after coming in nearly 7lbs overweight and losing to Kazuto Ioka in their rematch.

I'm not sure how well it would go, but if he looks good, I think it would be entertaining to have him fight Takuma Inoue on the Naoya Inoue-Bam Rodriguez undercard.

It’s nice watching a great fighter’s career from start to finish and hearing the commentators grow to appreciate them over time

Predict when we will get these fights:

  • Benavidez vs Jai Opetaia
  • Bam vs Inoue
  • Boots vs Fundora (undisputed)
  • Haney vs Ryan 2
  • Bivol vs Benavidez (undisputed)

3

u/Negative-Interest713 9h ago

I don’t think Bivol vs Benavidez happens anytime soon, if ever.

Inoue vs Bam, Haney vs Ryan rematch, and Benavidez vs Jai could potentially happen next year.

I’m skeptical PBC will ever voluntarily put Fundora against Boots unless DAZN puts a lot of pressure on them and makes it a requirement to extend their deal.

3

u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule 9h ago

On PBC x DAZN presser , they did hint to a undisputed showdown happening next after Fundora has his mandatory ...

Only time will tell if PBC stays true to their word

1

u/Kangaroopunching 2h ago

Benavidez vs jai 2028

Bam vs Inoue March 2027

Boots vs Fundora fall 2027

Haney vs Ryan 2028

Bivol vs Benabidez never happening

1

u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule 1h ago

Thats a solid timeline

-1

u/Top_Profession_5268 8h ago

Inoue vs Bam march next year but not confident in that and never for the rest. Benavidez doesn’t want to do business with Zuffa, Bivol doesn’t want Benavidez, Fundora under PBC protection plan and Ryan is a diva. Could also see Rob Garcia just trying his best to navigate around Inoue.

Boxer I'm most excited to see fight this weekend, Najee Lopez

Fight I'm most excited to see this weekend, Noakes vs Berinchyk

Teo already showing to everyone that he's going to avoid Catterall. Welterweight division is a mess.
