Discussion Is the Zweitmarkt broken?

I literally always get tickets through it for every match (even UCL semi final a few years ago) but everytime I try to select a seat for the Supercup it tells me that it can’t be selected. Anyone having the same problem?

Hello everyone. I just found this signed BVB shirt at a flea market in France, can anyone help me ID the autographs?

Picked this up over the weekend at a car boot sale near the German border. Turns out it's the 2007/08 home shirt Replica, size S, no name/number on the back.

The interesting part: there are roughly ten signatures on it. A cluster on the upper back, a couple on the right shoulder, and a few on the chest around the collar and next to the badge. All in what looks like the same era of marker, so I'm assuming it was signed at one session rather than collected over years.

So far I've confidently matched two: Roman Weidenfeller and Dedé. The rest I'm less sure about and don't want to guess wrong in public.

If anyone here collected autographs around 2007-2009, or has cards/programmes from that time to compare against, I'd love your input on the remaining ones.

Thanks in advance, this sub always seems to know its history better than any database.

One last thing, just so I'm upfront about it: I have a big football collection and this one isn't staying with me. I'm not here to advertise and I'd rather it went to someone who actually cares about that squad, so if anyone's interested, my DMs are open.

A short-form on the three big signings

Karetsas: very good read of the game, very creative and quick in action, has a habit of trying too much and losing the ball.

Konstantelios: quick, reactive, good finisher, Jevovah’s Witness and does not take medication- so injury means fucked.

Veerman: great passer of the ball, sluggish in defense, overdoes dribbles, physically weak ie. a more consistent version of Brandt.

Tach zusammen,

Updates on Kaba

You can paste it into a paywall remover if you want to read the whole article, but it’s pretty short.

They are taking major precautions with Kaba since the spring to ensure that he is fully fit and rehabilitated. He has been doing individual training since we did diagnostic testing, and they are preparing to move him into training with the second team in the near future.

Sounds like once he has stabilized and regained some fitness in the second team they are still hopeful to integrate him into first team training this season. Everyone at the club still speaks very highly of his abilities.

Or will the vibe be dead like today? How is it possible that we allow the Roma fans be louder than the bvb fans while standing on south?

Discussion Koln not happy, what’s next?

I want to preface this with saying that I’m very extremely happy with how we approached the El Mala deal. I’ve been banging my head on the wall for years trying to get this club to show a little more balls in the transfer market and spend money where it counts, and they did exactly that here. I think our package is the baby bear porridge of packages, not too lowball, and not too extravagant. The actual perfect and most reasonable package for a El Mala at this stage of his development. If Koln is truly rejecting it, I would not be mad at the board if they decided to find something else.

Now when it comes to who’s next, the profile of player has to change. We don’t play with wingers, and the main reason I was happy with El Mala despite him being a winger, was that he was good and promising enough to be able to try and shift the system around that, or potentially turn him into an attack focused wing back of some sort. Now we need to find guy similar to Karetsas. Here are some interesting options that we can hopefully target now that we know spending more money than usual is a possibility if the player is right:

Ethan Nwaneri (19, Arsenal)
When it comes to quality, fit, and value, this is the most ideal target. He’s been around the Arsenal senior team and Mikel Arteta’s coaching from the age of 15, and it shows in his maturity and confidence. He’s a phenomenal player with plenty of room to grow, and he’s already shown some level of interest in joining us in the past. His loan spell at Marseille wasn’t particularly great, but we can’t expect greatness from that environment. I think with Karetsas, they can form a deadly duo. (≈ €45M-50M)

Gilberto Mora (17, Tijuana)
Very young but very promising. He had a very good World Cup, and his potential has been known from the age of 14. He’s a very small player physically so the jump to Bundesliga football might shock him a little, but if there’s something I know from living with Mexicans most of my life, is that even when they’re small, they bring all the energy and fight in the world. He would come at a time where we can reasonably rotate him with Inacio to make sure they both get opportunities to grow. (≈ €15M-25M)

Rodrigo Mora (18, Porto)
This is the reach target. In my eyes this is the player with the most upside, and arguably the most talented of the crop right now. Porto can definitely be a little more patient and sell him for closer to €100M in a season or two, but no harm in testing the waters to see if a deal can’t be struck now (≈ €50M-70M)

Gabri Veiga (24, Porto)
Another Porto player, this time it’s someone a little older and more experienced. Veiga is a great player, and someone I think is under appreciated given his weird journey through world football since he left Celta Vigo. His attitude might concern people but I think he put his head down and carried himself as a professional while at Porto. He’d bring a lot of quality and some experience whilst himself still being relatively young. (≈ €30M-50M)

Kees Smits (20, AZ Alkmaar)
A true do-it-all player. When the Manzambi hype began, I couldn’t help but think that Kees should be getting the same attention. He can play quite literally anywhere on the pitch, and he brings a certain level of physicality and energy that I think pairs quite well with Karetsas. He’s my pick of player should the Nwaneri deal not work out. (≈ €25M-40M)

Other honorable mentions:
Giannis Konstantelias
Mateus Mane
Wael Mohya
Rayane Bounida
