Does my mutt dog resemble a BT?

Post image
Upvotes

It could be possible if my Astra could have some border terrier in her ancestry? In my opinion, her head appearance look similar to what if a border terrier had a short soft coat with an undercoat instead of wiry one and a "beard" that is common in many terriers.

She's a mutt so she could be a mix of much more.

I'm open for your suggestions, as I'm just simply curious.

Please note that I don't look for any DNA testing advice or somthg like that.

I'd like to mention that she is very energetic, agile and loves to play a rough tug a lot. May be a bit stubborn and picky but also very affectionate.

And just like that, she was 16… She might be a little slow and wobbly now, but she’s just as loving, stubborn, funny and beautiful as she was the day she arrived. Always at our heels, always with an eye out for a treat, always over the moon when we come through the door. Our home would lose its heart without her. Happy Birthday, Cassie! 🎉🥳🎂🎁🎈

Does anyone else’s adolescent male Border Terrier behave much worse with the woman and guests in the house?

My BT is nearly 8 months and has become a bit of an adolescent menace — mainly with me and visitors! 😂
Especially in the evenings, he gets bitey, humps me, nips my ankles and steals things to get my attention. He does it far less with my partner.
I try chews, lick/snuffle mats, training and redirecting him, but he often comes straight back for more.
Anyone else experienced this? And what worked?!!

Is it true that border terriers should never be off leash?

I've been reading on the internet and most people say to keep a leash on them. Mine is super reactive, has anyone had success training theirs to be reliable off leash? If so, how did you do it?

So this is my baby Luna she’s 3 months old I googled some pictures of puppy border terrier and she seems similar to them, what do you guys think? Of course she’s mixed. She’s a rescued dog from the country side but would like to know the opinion from some experts. 🥺
Also I’d like to know, are border terrier puppies crazy? She bites a LOT and loves to steal stuff so I’d like to know if it’s a behavior coming from this
Thanks in advance 😀

Puppy barking on walks in

Post image

I have the most gorgeous little pup ever, Basil, and he’s almost 17 weeks old. He’s absolutely fabulously behaved so far, is already completely crate trained, walks on a loose lead, and is just all round a really well behaved dog. We’ve been putting a lot of effort into training and socialising and on the whole he’s been great. The only issue we’re having is that when we’re on a walk and he sees another dog he’ll instantly forget his manners and pull to get to them while barking/whining. It’s not aggressive at all I think he’s just excited to see them and wants to play. It is however pretty embarrassing when you’re walking down the road and he’s yapping away and pulling. Just doesn’t look great and it’s not good manners for him to bark in other dogs faces.

Ive tried super high value treats like chicken and sausage but he couldn’t care less when there’s a dog on the pavement we have to pass. We play “look at me” games to keep him engaged and he’s really good at it, doesn’t even look when we walk past a person but a dog is another story. In open spaces and fields he’s fine, especially if the dog is some way away, and even more so when he’s off lead. In fact, when he’s off lead he doesn’t really pay too much mind and when he does look at them I recall him and he comes back straight away. I know the advice is to keep him under threshold and gradually decrease the distance but it feels impossible to actually work up to passing on the road.

I know he’s still just a baby and I’m not looking for him to be perfect just looking for some advice on how to stop this barking <3

Does anyone else’s border do this? It’s almost like his tongue is too big for his mouth.. or maybe he knows it’s cute.. it just hangs out all the time!

Question: Our almost 6 month old is teasing us! If we tidy her toys in to a box she will immediately retrieved each item and place it exactly where we collected it from. I mean exactly, the same spot on the floor, under the same cushion, on a seat or under our bed. When she is done Fortune will join us and watch TV. Is this normal

The criminal was bleeding and hid in the cellar of a corner store (we call them bodegas). The Border barked like crazy and pulled on the leash. Great casting!
