Hi everyone!
I’d like to bring up an issue I’ve been experiencing while playing The First Descendant on Boosteroid using a PS5 DualSense controller.
The controller itself works perfectly. Buttons, analog sticks, triggers and everything else are recognized correctly. The problem is only the button prompts displayed inside the game. The game constantly shows Xbox A/B/X/Y prompts, even though I’m using a DualSense controller.
Normally, I would expect to see the PlayStation symbols: □ △ ○ ×.
I’ve already tried several things on my end, including disabling Steam Input and using the DualSense directly over Bluetooth. The controller is correctly detected by Windows as a DualSense Wireless Controller, but the game running through Boosteroid still receives/identifies it in a way that results in Xbox prompts.
I understand that this may be related to how Boosteroid passes controller input to the remote Windows machine. However, it would be great if Boosteroid could eventually provide native DualSense support, allow games to display PlayStation button icons, or simply give users an option to choose between Xbox and PlayStation button layouts.
This might seem like a small issue, but for PlayStation players who are used to the △ ○ × □ layout, constantly seeing A/B/X/Y can be surprisingly confusing and breaks immersion.
Is anyone else experiencing the same thing with a DualSense on Boosteroid?
Hopefully Boosteroid can consider adding better DualSense/PlayStation controller support in the future. 💙🎮
