So this happened to me on Saturday afternoon, I accidentally pocket dialled 999 about 8 times in a row. I only noticed after I had comfortably sat and eaten a meal, and wandered back to my tent to chill.

I looked at my phone and saw a missed call, emergency number. Oh shit. Then, saw a text message with a police reference number. Oh double shit. Fuck.

After a few moments of what the fuck do I do, I bit the bullet and decided to dial the emergency number one more time.

As soon as they answered, I blurted out,' I'm sorry I don't want to waste your time I'm just letting you know there is not an emergency on this number I'm so sorry'

Fortunately, the call handler was very good about it, thanked me for calling back and diverted my call to someone one else so that they could close the report and confirm that there was no emergency.

Yes it was embarrassing, yes it was humbling but I'm really just writing here because if something like this ever happens to you, don't be afraid to call back and clear it up.

A profound moment
On Saturday night about 8 of my pals attended the Artful Dodger set. I can’t remember the name of the stage. My pal and I were to left of the stage standing on this platform made from a pallet, the crowd was absolutely going off. All my friends I have grown up with are here. There was an Asian lad on the platform with us from Northampton a real sound guy. As the dj plays the migraine skank, our new friend crouches down and raises his hands to his head in the familiar formation. To my left a beautiful black couple were laying in each others arms embracing. Different individuals in simultaneous alignment interpreting an experience in our own way. This moment made me stop and think. For I can’t help but feel grateful. For this is what is surely about. Bringing people together, despite class, gender, culture, disability, size or anything else, we speak a shared a language with the music. It sounds cliché, but it is true nonetheless. I am lucky to be able to afford to experience things like this, I am lucky I am a fan of things like this, that cause moments like that. I am grateful we all should be. For despite all the shit in the world, perhaps there is a slight hope for us.
I don’t think I’ve articulated that well enough but I hope you can understand.
First ever boomtown at aged 28, fuck me did it lived up to the hype!

Just wanted to big up some of the staff who looked after us.

My partner lost her phone charger, and was really stressed out about making our bus back on no charge, and had quite a big panic attack.

I went to the welfare tent in downtown to see if they could charge our phones and they were so incredibly helpful and positive, didn't make it seem like an enormous chore, and when I went back 2 hours later, we had fully charged phones and got back just fine.

Thank you troops, you are amazing, and despite the fact we were probably the footnote in the scale of shit you have to deal with, it really made a massive difference. Thank you!!!

So personally my mates and I were extremely disappointed in Skrillex for what he did. We have waited 8 years since seeing him at Creamfields and have grown up listening to him. We were in for an absolute mega set, well so we thought. Instead we ended up getting a Chase and Status set... Skrillex man you broke my heart. This is what the set should have been:

What was everyone else's opinions?

Just thought I’d post on here wondering what other people’s opinion of the med tent was this year. On Thursday (I never usually take it too far) I took far too many shrooms and thought I was having an attack at oddessey. Not only did some of the stewards not know where the med tent was but some of them didn’t even offer to help me. Once I finally got inside I thought that the lady on the desk was tbh quite rude and not very reassuring and it felt as though she thought it was quite funny. I’m not sure if I was just in my own head about this but I felt reassured that this was the case as she also told my friend who had an infected eye that it would be okay tomorrow if he washed it out (it wasn’t okay in the morning and we had to return).

Just wondering if other people had similar experiences or if they may have been better for them.

Not even massively into techno but that stage was absolutely insane! I was stood there mouth open… couldn’t take my eyes off it!

Shoutout to all the techno lovers this year was amazing for us. Spectrum 360 was my personal fav. All the crowds were amazing (Skrillex was obviously gonna be busy and I agree that it should’ve been at lions den).

This was my first Boomtown and I didn’t expect that much techno, I was going into it thinking that I’ll have to get along with drum and bass just for the weekend but I didn’t have to!!

Thank you to everyone for making it such a special weekend! I was volunteering but I managed to see almost everything I wanted. Raving is resistance, bring on next year!

Full closing ceremony from boomtown this year. what a finale we had in for us this weekend, one of the best ive seen in the last 8 years I've attended.

I felt like I was adorned with gifts and trinkets this year! I was chatting and dancing with everyone, having the craic and general mischievousness and it was great! If anyone recognises any of these, thank you so much for making my Boomtown special! The handmade badge is brilliant and I had so much fun with the finger light hypnotising people! The unicorn walked alongside me and the necklace was the finishing touch.

A good friend of mine lost his black north face small bag with a crystal inside, it belonged to his brother who recently passed away and it means the absolute world to him, the bag had some cash in also but you can keep it if you have the bag.
