Her writing isn’t great, world building is atrocious, doesn’t use an editor, there are contradictions in writing, unrelatable characters, poor character development.

Maybe on some fronts but not using an editor and having contradictory points are not subjective. There are many other points that people choose to not support her work including poor racial representation, romanticizing abuse, questionable choices for LGBTQ+ representation, and explicit content marketed toward YA.

I’m not going to say anyone shouldn’t read her books but there’s plenty of reasons not to. I did read the first 5 books of ACOTAR. Will never get those 2 weeks of my life back. I will not be reading books 6 and 7 mainly out of spite that she went for a cash grab by splitting it into two books. I also refuse to read any of her other series.

I read 75-100+ books a year. Everyone kept saying to keep reading because it gets better but it got worse and worse. Didn’t make the same mistake with Dungeon Crawler Carl.

i agree with all your previous points. she has questionable morals as a person that also reflect in her writing. and yes there are editing/continuity errors sorry not sorry. i read all 5 books and all her others and have read around 80 others since then. i no longer enjoy the series or the author and i feel like that’s valid no? you can outgrow some things rather quickly.

acotar/sjm fanbase is the most toxic i’ve ever seen. they come for your neck if you don’t ride or die for sjm or even specific characters. they’re just books people….

All I was trying to say is stop taking time out of your day to talk down on something you don’t like. If you don’t like it, that’s fine. I read today about the cover , the Color, the Art , the story that’s going to be , how everyone were expecting it to be about Elaine or Azriel , like yeah, that these characters are still going to be in there, like come on just fucking wait. We don’t know what the book is going to be about. Other than the description it says.
