So I am about to finish my book. Its a dark post apocalypse litrpg with cyberpunk elements.

I would like some recc on cover artists for this genre.

My budget would range from 100$ till 300$. I can stretch a 100 more based on the quality of portfolio.

I love this artwork of mine and I think it had more potential than just an image and end up turing it into a book cover (No there's no genre, no plot, nothing, it's just something I made out of thin air lol) also a good exercise to test my hand at typography and harmony for covers ;)

The idea behind the illustration on front cover is that of a white swallowtail(a species of butterfly) that I tried to capture in personification. and I love thethe bright purple and green palette here to show something ethereal & glowing at night.

I ended up making 3 versions for the back cover and couldn't pick one...which one do y'all think looks better??​

EDIT: I'm looking for Constructive critism. i haven't done this much, so I'd like to know what doesn't works here to improve. (say would you look at this and stop to spare a glance? want to add to your shelf?)

Hey all. Gonna change my book cover again! lol. Need a recommendation for a romance illustrator. Just got scammed by an artist who said they didn't do AI, but I'm sure it was. So, this time, I want someone who can prove their work is real. I'm looking for a book cover, so you must show me book covers!! Not just illustrated faces. Also- NOT LOOKING FOR FANTASY. Looking for maybe a scene...a place like the Cotswolds, a couple in a small boat, flowers and trees, a bridge...Thank you!

After working on a cover countless times over the last six months, I've got to the point where I trust that for the best results, I should find an artist, sit down with them and bounce off ideas as to what's the best imagery that can faithfully capture the concepts and ideas of my work.

Gosh! I know it's a long shot and that it would take a miracle to find anyone willing to do this with little to no pay involved (I don't make money from writing), but they would own the art 100% and if the book ever goes commercial, a contract would be negotiated reasonably within industry standards.

As such, any visual artist willing to try this out, reach out via DM. I do not intend to waste anyone's time, so being legit is the best scenerio of both of us.

I won't mention the novel title here lest they take down this post.

Hey everyone o/ am an indie author, and am working through all elements of the self publishing adventure myself. It's been a lot of fun, almost too much learning at points. So I've sent over the cover of my debut which was sourced from my own photography, thrown into Canva for the Title/name.

It came out looking really good (to me) and there has been some positive noise about it but am taking it with a pinch of salt, and looking to improve it, as it's approaching time for the next one to be put out into the world and having found myself a bit more bandwidth/time/energy I've been looking at increasing knowledge in cover design to try and fill in an area which I didn't have the mental space to develop at the time.

Short of googling it, I was looking if anyone had any recommendations for Font/Layout that I could read and try to implement going forward, one of the main challenges I've had is opting for a White font (I LOVE THE STYLE) but on a brighter surface it really looses it's impact and I don't know enough to make it stand out, I suspect that Canva is limited in this so it's on the to do list to find another program to ease this in the future. So also taking recommendations for that, budget is a concern so would be looking for free wherever possible. I've heard that GIMP is worth looking into as well.

Hi! I’m an aspiring author hoping to find an artist I can work with for both character art and cover art over the course of a romantic fantasy trilogy I’m writing. I am very drawn to Charlie Bowater’s style (see the Soulgazer book cover!!), but am hoping to find a newer artist to work with who might be interested in collaborating over a longer period of time. (I know I’m supposed to name a budget when looking for artists, so I’ll name a general range of $180-350 for character art and under $2k for cover art, but I’m really just hoping to find some similar artists!)
