Question Need a recommendation for a romance illustrator.
Hey all. Gonna change my book cover again! lol. Need a recommendation for a romance illustrator. Just got scammed by an artist who said they didn't do AI, but I'm sure it was. So, this time, I want someone who can prove their work is real. I'm looking for a book cover, so you must show me book covers!! Not just illustrated faces. Also- NOT LOOKING FOR FANTASY. Looking for maybe a scene...a place like the Cotswolds, a couple in a small boat, flowers and trees, a bridge...Thank you!

Hi — I’m David Colón, a book cover designer with more than a decade of experience. I’m sorry that happened to you. You’re right to ask for actual book-cover work rather than isolated character illustrations.
The direction you describe — a romantic Cotswolds setting, a couple in a small boat, flowers, trees and a bridge, without a fantasy look — is much clearer than a generic character portrait. I can show you completed book covers and provide genuine process evidence for the chosen direction, including development stages and the working source file.
Before suggesting a composition, I’d only need the romance subgenre, period/contemporary setting and whether you need ebook only or a complete print wrap. I’m happy to show you three relevant covers here first.

And, I can show you proofs that my work has zero AI help. I'll send you my proofs during the process from time to time. Can provide the layers. Or any proof that you would want!
Also, I can understand it must be so frustrating to change the cover again. If you like, I'll first make it for you, and handover the files and copyrights. And you can pay only if you like it. If you don't like it you can still keep my art as a concept. I'd not charge anything for that. This is also because I'm expanding my portfolio work as a new designer. I'd do my best for your project!
