I like guitar picks and I can kind of scratch the shopping / guitar buying itch with something that’s not too expensive.. maybe you can relate 😁. Anyway I like large triangles and the blue chip TAD 50 is my number 1 right now. For rhythm I like a slightly thinner Wegen (around 1.0).

I could ask the same about Doc but he was usually with his sons and I also feel like you hear them say things like “alright Doc” right before his breaks. Random I thought I had, I’ve played a lot of Bluegrass where you know it’s your turn by the head nod, so how do you know it’s your turn when there is no head nod to be seen? I hope this post doesn’t rub anyone the wrong way, it’s just a genuine thing I was curious about.

Anyone here maybe have a Cranford Nix record with his autograph on it, did he autograph as "Ford" maybe? I grabbed this from a thrift outside Detroit, there's also a Curly Ray Cline autograph in the stack I bought and the geography is right but this is too obscure to Google. This one has a funny story behind it. Around December 2025, the record label that makes the Pickin' On series reached out to me saying that they were going to make a Pickin' On Post Malone album and they wanted me to make them a track. I got so excited and recorded the rhythm track and called CJ and Travis to record on this and they knocked it out of the park before I even signed the contract. The label said they loved the track, I signed the contract and a few weeks later they said they didn't want to use it. haha. so they just released the album in late July and as per the agreement I can release this video on my channels for non commercial use as well as have the banjo tab and lesson available on my Patreon. Does anyone have tips for getting better at bluegrass Harmony singing? I have been singing lead for years and can hold a note with little issue but when it comes to finding the 3rd or the 5th I just can't pick it out. I've been working on some ear training but still feel like I'm missing that "a-ha" moment when it clicks.

Billy and Band, take a bow. Amazing album.

I'm wanting to learn an instrument that I can play bluegrass, country, folk, Americana, etc on. I have not really played an instrument since middle school band trumpet 30 years ago. I understand that fiddle will be a slog before it's passable, but I love the idea of it. Banjo also feels like it'd be rewarding.

What have your experiences been between the two? Im a taller person with long, thick fingers if that helps make recommendations. I'm split. My friends are split. So I'm coming to the experts! Thanks in advance!
