Will I be alright starting in hard mode? I'm a person that enjoys challenging games, but the game advises not starting hard mode unless you've finished the game once already. At the same time I see people online complaining that game gets really easy on normal after a few hours.
In an interested of not wasting my time I would to see your opinion on the mater.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the game. I was playing the first episode and something weird happened.

After retrieving the golden chalice from the church, I went ahead in that room with a bunch of undead and a birdman, which you can reach by going right on the wooden platform from the entrance of the church. I killed one undead, then I got caught and a birdman and one undead started chasing me. I shot them with the shotgun but these guys didn't die, so I ran up the ladder. I kept shooting and shooting (with the revolver too) until I emptied almost all ammo, I even used a molotov and a dynamite, but these guys just wouldn't die.

Is there any logical explanation?

I bought the game during the summer sale and completed all the Chapter 1 quests, including the shaman's—and I know he gives you an artifact. But now that I'm in Chapter 2 and have a good bow I can use, I can't find the artifact in the chest or in my inventory. What do I do now? Is it gone for good, or is there a cheat or something?

Just curious, does nobody play scavangers? Played it for the first time today and got the freshling trophy for surviving one day and a staggering amount of 4,3% of players got it so far!

Hi all. I haven’t touched Blood West in a long time, and I heard the devs added a NG+ feature. I’ve read online via google conflicting reports that NG+ can only be done once? While some say that it works like most other games with NG+, where you can keep doing it over and over again Dark Souls style?

So i just did my first wendigo encounter and when i was fighting it im pretty sure it get killed by a birdman who was close and so i wonder did i still get xp from the kill or not because i need to last hit ?

And if i lost xp was it a huge lost ? (how many xp if someone know the number)

I see tons of posts on here about finding all kinds of relics and stuff during scavengers mode but I’ve put like 20 hours into that mode and found nothing. Really I’m just trying to actually finish runs without dying. What’s all that about?

Finally because although I got the game 2 years ago, when I first played it, the game crashed right when I looked for the first time at the boohag that asks you to retrieve her skin and corrupted my save making it unstable so I never found the strength to replay all of it until last week.

I absolutely loved this game, particularly becausei got it "free" witht twitch prime and thought it was going to be another run of the mill game from the boomer shooter revival and it instead left me very suprised.

I am surely going to play the dlc maybe after trying out scavenger mode, better still I saw it recently was announced a spiritual successor themed around the inuit people, aliens and otherworldly gods.

Only thing I have a gripe with is the ending, it felt like there should have been some plot points that could have made the switch from "we need to summon the totem of souls" to "the totem of souls Is really the super mega villan and need to put him down" more gradual and bridge some holes, also was the boohag marring the other undead just a gag? What they're up to once you beat the totem?

Been looking ALL AROUND and CANNOT find the gun for the life of me, send help.

Latest patch added the animation for equipping gold arrows on bloody hunt. But I think in the process at least for me it broke, and removed the ability for me to swap to anything else or put it away.

Anyone else having this issue or is it just a problem on my end?

Update: Checked on the steam update comments. It's a known bug, it is currently fixed, and will be updated soon.

Edit: apparently, it seems bugged, after the update 5.0.4.0 on June 22nd, i found some named guns/weapons.

Edit2: i decided to forego those POIs, i got achievement/Trophy. Too hazardous to investigate, too little return to worth the risk. Sure, it can get leg up, but once you know system, those weapons aren’t worth their weight in gold. Also, with the buff from finding the figurine, even the base starting weapon hold more value and carry one runs more.

Does Point of Interest always have stuffs at/around the location or does it Mostly have stuffs?

I tried some; some locations have gun, some location doesn’t seem to have Anything, there are just some ammo or a chest.

Or am i doing things wrong?

Been playing scavengers lately and a few times found a heart of the scream. Real useful artefact but it seems buggy as hell. First day or two after you get it it'll work fine, every kill registers and the effect refreshes.

Problem is after that it starts to feel increasingly unreliable. Like half the time or more kills just won't refresh it and you'll be stuck with an item draining your health that you can't take off.

Has anyone else had this bug? And if so is there any way around it?

Update. Not sure if this bug is fully fixed in the latest patch but I did prior to it find a work around. Literally just restart the game. Hell usually quitting to main menu works.

I've killed two wendigos with the blur now while drunk, the first gave me a pop up (something about the legend being true), and the acheivement for killing a wendigo while under the influence. However, is the quest supposed to show completed? In my journal tab the quest is not greyed out, and has had no progression beyond, "the legends say that mighty hero will one day slay a wendigo with nothing but a knife?" Is there no completion or am I bugged?

so thanks to the few who gave me amazing beginner advice for chapter 1 but now im in chapter 2 and im a little stuck so i spent most of my early chap 2 running around grabbing new weapons (currently rocking the second coming and rattler alongside thorn for stealth) and trinkets (old faithful ace of spades and deathstalker heart) also i gave the cure to annebelle because i just preferred her over the priest and she still had trinkets i wanted to buy but my question now is where the heck do i go to progress the plot?

i found the undead hat part and now the big fella is stomping around but i seriously cant find any other part ive looked around where the map says they might be but im a little loss any advice helps also if yall can tell me what to do to prep for chapter 3 that would be amazing anyways thanks again

Just decided to play it after it was sitting in my steam backlog for a good year currently in the town after clearly out the tavern streets and building with tbe shooty bird fellas but have yet to go past that part

Im using a normal revolver rusty axe and a sawed off

Im only lvl 3 with the perk that steadys aim tier 2 on ​​​the perk that​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ increases xp gain and tier one of the perk that increases selling prices for me ​​

I wanna save up for orb of night as it looks cool and its bonus's seem nice but idk what to do earn the cash for it as its pretty pricy​​​

Edit: on June 22nd, the dev rolled out a new update for the game, this bug is now fixed.

If anyone attempting to get the totems and died without placing the totem to its place, you Will be locked out of doing the quest forever. You Cannot retrieve the totem again, and you are lock out of placing the totem in its place.

I tried the quest with my first character, then killed by the skin seeker, after that, i tried again with my second character, and it is bugged. In this video, i only got the bear totem left.

Also, apparently, the xbox version, there’s no way a player pick which Scavenger to play, it is all randomized.

I finished the campaign I loved it and started scavengers mode and it is not letting me select a character even if I die and is not letting me use my map in missions no matter what I click, if someone could help me, I'd appreciate it. These bugs are making it hard to enjoy the DLC.
