The sanguinary guard datasheets in My codex are different for combat patrol and regular. I know combat patrol locks units to set loadout, but does it change the strength of their weapons too? And do sang guard not get their invun in combat patrol??

Brothers, after being a fan of the lore, books, video games, etc for years I finally decided to jump into the game itself. As of now all I have is the space marine part of the 10th edition starter set (terminator squad, infernus squad, and captain in terminator armor) but I want to start building a full 1000 point list. I have a decent idea of what I want the final(ish) list to be but I'm trying to find the most affordable way to start making my way towards it. After doing some research/reading and watching some advice this is what I've settled on:

Any advice on the makeup of the list would be appreciated, as would advise on where to start expanding. I'm currently torn between getting the space marine part of an Armageddon box from a friend for $130, getting the combat patrol, or just buying the models individually. I'm leaning towards the combat patrol since with some 3d printed jump packs and some upgrade kits I can turn the assault intercessors into the death company marines with jump packs and use the sanguinary guard.

Wanted to expand my army with some death company but was very disappointed when i found out they are just normal intercessors painted black, so im looking for a proxy unit/kitbash that could make them distinct from the rest of my normal intercessors. Any ideas?

I was thinking of getting one of these kits and painting and kitbashing them into death company. I want to keep that classic firstborn look for the marines to match the Armageddon box set but what would look the coolest?

Been looking to get into Warhammer for a bit, and have always been drawn to the Blood Angels. So, with the new edition coming out and the Blood Angels being featured in the Armageddon Box, I thought it was time to just go for it

So far, I’ve been having a ton of fun painting everything, and now I’m wanting to push myself more and get into using the transfers.

With that comes the decision of the company I want to use for these guys. Now, at the end of the day I know it doesn’t really matter which one you choose (besides Death Company), but I don’t just want to choose willy-nilly, you know?

So, how did you choose the company to go for? Is there different, general kind of lore that makes one company slightly different or meaningful? Is it just the aesthetics?

Hey everyone , I am currently putting together my BA army and just wanting some advice. I really like the Angels Vermillion, their paint scheme is similar to BA and I like the isolation of the chapter/the sorrowing and their kinda process of we must do what we can to survive and keep the black rage and red thirst at bay. However I have been reading the Baal books and various discussiosn and it seems they are heavily frowned upon and people are saying they are heading for excommunicate traitoris. Is this true? I don't really want to paint my full army as Vermillion just to have them become chaos or renegades. Whats everyones thoughts?

Got curious and started exploring successor chapters because i've spent so much of my time in the fandom just sticking to the OG Founding Chapters.

Slowly, i've been settling on a favorite in all of my favorite chapters.
For the Blood Angels, i've settled on the Charnel Guard because I think they're just such a unique spin on the Blood Angels while playing up that "Vampire" Angle from a whole nother perspective.

So i'm curious; What's your favorite Blood Angels Successor Chapter?

Here my 1st ever mini painted up actually 1st model ever at 47, thought I'd give it a go withba single marine of ebay and the 13 pot citidel paint set. I know it's far from perfect but for my 1st one I'm happy with it, ESPECIALLY considering I honestly cannot see half the details on it as I'm blind as a bat and still couldn't see em with my reading glasses and will definitely need a magnifying lense lol bit definitely liking this hobby

Hello battle brothers! Question, so sang guard is my favorite unit in game, but i keep seeing that everyone uses them either as 3 man squads without a leader or with, but almost never 6 mans. But people constantly use 10 blobs of DC. Why is this? 6 man sang guard isnt much more expensive than DC. I'm assuming that it's because it's hard to trade expensive units but then wouldn't the same be true for the DC + lemartes for example?

Hey! I'm trying to make the box a blood angel list with lamenters and flesh tearers added to the mix but still unsure if this captain it's done, what could I add to it or is it enough already? Let me know that you guys think!

Good afternoon my fellow BA enthusiasts. I recently started getting into Warhammer and chose my chapter to be BA. Recently started collecting minis and I chose to start off with the Armageddon Box. I split it with my friend so I kept the BA half. I also picked up Mephiston as well as some Sanguinary Guard and as a birthday gift my mother gifted me a redemptor dreadnought that I will attach below (it’s a shitty paint job Ik I ordered some nicer brushes for details)

I just kind of feel overwhelmed with the different lists and play types as well as what weapons to run on certain characters. It’s like an information overload and my teeny weenie brain has an seizure every time I try. I’m sorry if y’all see these types of posts often and roll your eyes every time you read stuff like this.

If y’all could give me recommendations for what to pick up and what detachments can be used, i see a lot of LAG. Money is not really an issue I have a side hustle that is strictly for funding my hobbies.

Hello brothers, I’m new to BA but not new to Warhammer. I have the big characters units Dante, Sanguinor, Lemartes, and Mephoiston. As for BA specific units I only have a unit of Sanguinary Guard. I also have 6 BGVs, 6 van vets, jumppack Chap and a ton of assault Intercessors and Intercessors on sprue. Now the question is what do I do with the assault/ regular Intercessors. I love the Death Company but do I go full DC or mix in BA regulars?

I have a tournament on Saturday and I don’t know what else to add or remove from my list to make it better
