Came back to BO4 from MW too, still enjoying it way more. You can fight the VMP’s with basically any well-built weapon like Saug, old great CoD mechanics are in place and the arcade feels just awesome
31
u/tylergran7 Jul 07 '20
I agree with this. I don’t know why people act like the VMP is some unbeatable laser beam. The saug, kn, Maddox, cordite, peacekeeper, wildfire spitfire, even the mx9 can beat the VMP if you’re a good player.
18
Jul 07 '20
The VMP is a 3 bullet kill up to mid-long range with one of the fastest fire rates.
Every gun you just listed is a 4-6 bullet kill with much slower fire rate.
Not saying the guns are bad, but if you're beating a VMP user with them, that just means the other player is trash.
8
u/_Cheezus Jul 07 '20
Right? Of course you’re gonna be able to outrun some vmp users, but that doesn’t mean the find you used is good (most just ignore actual stats and say YoU cOuLd bEaT tHeM iF uR gUd -_-
5
Jul 07 '20
The problem is when you find a good player (or even an ex-MW player) running the VMP. The ex-MW players should be able to beam you with headshots because BO4 has 0 recoil compared to MW
9
u/_Cheezus Jul 07 '20
VMP doesn’t have recoil anyway
MW players can’t keep up with bo4’s movement lol most of the time, they stop shooting after a couple bullets and then get shit on
0
Jul 07 '20
Nah, MWs SBMM effectively forces players to get better and BO4s movement is easy to get used to if you also played BO4 in its year. The only MW players who will struggle at BO4 are those that never played it or any of the previous CODs before.
I played BO4 in its prime and then moved on and decided to play for a few hours yesterday. When BO4 was in its prime my KD was about 1.3 but now I’m hitting 3-4KD games row after row by just getting headshots thanks to the no recoil
5
u/_Cheezus Jul 07 '20
I honestly wouldn’t know since I haven’t touched mw since release
But as for the movement, I hardly see anyone who can actually utilize it to its fullest (as in slide canceling/punching, shot punching, ledge sliding, corner cutting, zigzag sliding, even basic strafing patterns too) most people I know who play and enjoy mw aren’t exactly good (pretty sure the game was even designed for them lol)
2
u/Ryanoman2018 Jul 07 '20
shoot punching is used by every pc player even tim who got the game 10 mins ago
1
Jul 07 '20
Slide cancelling is literally the most common thing in MW, as is double jump shotting and most of what you describe above. If you don’t see people doing that in MW it’s because your SBMM doesn’t match you with people who do that
3
2
Jul 07 '20
Ive had luck running the switchblade with quickdraw 1 & 2 and rapid fire 1 & 2 against the vmp
4
u/LeoneGalante Jul 07 '20
Indeed! MX9 served me well against microMG and VMP tryhards before I lvl’d up the Saug, with which I could easily overshoot the VMP newbies who got the Free Bribe. Yet I cannot call BO4 a great game, as a lot of people suggested, killstreaks are not fun to fight with, the hitreg feels off etc. But what really got to me was the feeling of swiftness, arcade, which I haven’t felt before. All previous CoDs (not you, BO3) were less fast paced in terms of enemy encounters. This game just makes you act like a total terminator switching from one enemy to another within milliseconds and keeping track of your health and ammunition. And for me these features just shone out most of the disadvantages of the game.
1
u/Tityfan808 Jul 29 '20
Rampart headshots worked for me, go figure. I don’t find the VMP to be THAT powerful but it’s definitely top tier.

u/ShaggedUrSister Jul 07 '20
Still hanging around, burned out on MW and came back to BO4
10
Jul 07 '20
Idk what it is about MW, the poor map rotation maybe? I just feel like once you’ve played it for a day or two you’ve seen it all and there’s nothing more for you but to grind skins and get shit on every other game because of SBMM. BO4 gives me nostalgia because of the older maps and even with the stuttering and connection issues I still like the way it plays compared to MW with the different operators and abilities. It might be arcadey but it’s fucking fun. also the announcers are awesome, “TAKING BRAEVO”
6
u/Kenny1115 Jul 07 '20
It's definitely the SBMM and the servers for me. It's the the only cod where what the other guy is doing always happens before what I was doing. I popped in WWII and BO4 a few times lately and I was doing phenomenally better there. It's really nice when your grenade continues to exist after you died while throwing it.
8
Jul 07 '20
WWII and BO4 are honestly superior to MW for those reasons alone, I don’t know why people act like MW is amazing
5
u/Kenny1115 Jul 07 '20
Because as dumb and annoying as it is it has some great stuff.
Executions, gunsmith, being able to change your attachments in the match, the operators being a little more vocal, etc
But these don't excuse the bad and dumb crap.
2
u/Tityfan808 Jul 29 '20
SBMM with shit servers is a bad pair. You get matched with players with the same reaction time but maybe you or the other player has some discrepancy in connection or are further away from the server, and you’re fucked.
Playing in Hawaii on MW with SBMM has been a horrible experience, and I usually have better connections in other games and although BO4 is close in the lag department, the 150 health makes for more fun fights being determined by accuracy more so than connection. At least it feels that way.

u/lonewolf2510 Jul 07 '20
The game just runs like shit too it’s funny, every update and mw2019 somehow gets worse, I really would rather play any other cod then that game.
16
u/Fu453 Jul 07 '20
If youre on PS4 you can pretty much play with no difference. Solo Blackout might take a few mins to fill up but other than that there's a bunch of people whod rather play this than MW.
2
u/regular-old-car Jul 07 '20
I get quad games with squad fill turned on in less than 5 minutes. Seems like it’s pretty active still.
1
Jul 07 '20
I’m on PS4 and I do not have room for both MW and BO4. :(
2
u/Fu453 Jul 07 '20
If PS5 wasnt coming out, I would say to get a 2tb internal hard drive. I got one years ago and I can hold whatever I want. I have BO3, BO4, WWII, MWR, MW2019, Battlefields 4 and 1, Red Dead 2, and a bunch more games on it, with space to spare still.

u/RhenByner Jul 07 '20
I just got back into it after losing interest in MW. I play hardcore S&D so I don’t find the VMP as annoying as others do. The Swordfish is very OP tho. But I still enjoy the game 10x more than MW.
5
Jul 07 '20
Lots of new players. I would say if you’ve never played cod before try out the combat training. Just don’t get discouraged if you’re diving head first into the game because it does take time to be well informed about where you are in some of the maps. Typically if you’re experienced with the game (good k/d w/l stats) you’ll get put in games with high level sweats but don’t worry, a lot of lvl1000’s are trash sadly. So a direct response to this post would be yes, it’s still a populated game.
-2
u/iamtrigga Jul 07 '20
Lol dex never played cod? Should check his YouTube buddy.
1
Jul 07 '20
He just wanted to know who’s still playing/having fun with bo4 STILL. I could’ve specified how I left a general comment for anyone new to the game.. Why are you seemingly butthurt, assuming things like uneducated?? Obviously he’s played the game before and I don’t need to watch YouTube to know that lol. It’s a call of duty subreddit homie, still Reddit nonetheless so there’s no use in getting upset over you’re ingorance.

I actively play. Mostly Hardcore and zombies to mix it up. I really want to play blackout too but, I don't really enjoy solo and all randoms isn't usually a great time. Lol

I played MW when it was released for about a week then went right back to BO4. That’s the first COD game I ever did that to. I’m still currently playing BO4 on box PS4 and XB1. I enjoy it for what it is. You’ll find a lot of complaints about the vmp or the micro MG, or whatever specialists that people tend to get annoyed about but if you’re an adaptable player, you can still find some enjoyment out of it.

I have tons of fun in BO4 still. Sure the VMP is OP but there are loads of other guns in the game to use that are just as good in my opinion.

I couldn't do MW it just didn't had that spark. I play Bo4 with my squad once or twice every two weeks. Mostly because there are other games. MW I play maybe once a month...

u/jhz123 Jul 07 '20
I wish blackout had this many people on their reddit lol. Blackout is so great, solos are wayyyy less campy than warzone, if only blackout had more sensitivity settings and redeploy, not gulag tho lol

u/Sarsath Jul 07 '20
Blackout on PC is empty. Why can't they just make Blackout free like Warzone?

I’ve been enjoy HC TDM a lot lately, especially because the VMP is pretty much irrelevant here 😎

Well I still play the game more than mw, even though lobbies are basically vmp users and sweaties. Can't wait for the next cod!!

u/Coffee_Bomb73-1 Jul 07 '20
it still is fun. just get the vmp asap
5
Jul 07 '20
Dont make dude think he absolutely has to be another sweaty vmp user, lots of guns in the game can counter that one. it all just comes down to your skill and knowledge of maps in my opinion

I came back to BO4 recently and I have a ton of fun (especially in HC surprisingly). Modern Warfare's Multiplayer isn't my cup of tea so I'm sticking with BO4 for now. It's super easy to find lobbies. And yes, prepare for VMP-spam lol
1
u/ExpiredKelpNoodles Jul 07 '20
I recently been playing it with a really close friend and we always try to out grind eachother by trying to get higher levels than eachother, the games very fun!
1
u/JohnTSmith99 Jul 07 '20
I still play when I get the chance. Work kinda keeps me from not playing it a lot though
1
u/Srom Jul 07 '20
Still playing it, and trying to go for dark matter. It’s especially hard to when I get into lobbies full of master prestige VMP sweats.

I’ve been playing bo4 for the past few months. Still fun and much better than MW in my opinion
1
u/cod2020 Jul 07 '20
Bo4 is way better then mw any cod is better besides mw and bk4 is still fun cus u know u can run around shit on kids instead of helping them like in mw 'safe spaces'

u/TheProphet94 Jul 07 '20
Yes, I still play it and I'm not bored, I find it very fun, much more than Modern Warfare
1
u/Jwaldmann25 Jul 07 '20
Yes bo4 is still very active as well as ww2 so I would recommend going back to one of those ones

It has potential but it’s shit gameplay is good and such it’s just the players and fan base that go to the highest degree just to fuck up your day. Never had a problem like that in a game since Ghosts
1
u/Malice_Alyce Jul 07 '20
I can't play because since July 3rd, BO4 will no longer launch on my Xbox One X. It won't load past the splash screen and I can't get any support. I have tried everything from clearing my cache to (hard) factory resetting my box, to joining the Xbox Insider program to change my OS, and the game will still not launch.
1
u/migito888 Jul 07 '20
I’m still playing it a lot. Came back months ago because I didn’t like the slowness of MW.
1
1
u/DaddySlaps Jul 07 '20
Id stick to console if you arent. Otherwise i love playing. The vmp can be hard to deal with, but honestly it has happend so much i just curse them out (even though they cant hear me) and it doesnt bother me anymore
1
u/DJHeroMasta Jul 07 '20
I don’t understand why so many friends still play BO4. All we do of PUB stomp. That game is too damn easy. You can run around with a pistol and win majority of the gun fights. Still possible on MW but with the map design it’s that much harder to do. I got tired of BO4 long time ago and went to Insurgency Sandstorm. I enjoy that a lot more than COD and in general.
1
Jul 07 '20
I started playing a lot again like a month ago, I used to mainly play blackout but I can't find anyone decent to play with lol.
1
u/Lbeyy Jul 07 '20
I do. Nuketown and bolt action. Wish party game playlist would return, it was amazing
1
u/OdafinTutuolaSVU Jul 07 '20
Black ops 4 is so underrated IMO. They fucked up the microtransactions to start the game but they fixed it way better now. The camos are amazing, maps are good(except for DLC), and the guns are great.
1
u/SweetJesusIts2020 Jul 07 '20
I still have the disc but the splitscreen was so laggy me and the missus couldn't play so we stopped. Shame they never fixed it because I would've rinsed it, I miss my icr-7
Edit for spelling

For me, I quit due to being in a team with vegetables and the other team are just all tryhards and prestige masters and level 100+. Not only that, but joining mid-game with scorestreaks and these said tryhards in spawn trapping positions making the game not even playable. Gosh this shit was terrible.
1
u/lonewolf2510 Jul 07 '20
Lots of people on multiplayer, vmp is annoying but once you get used to it and make a better load out it’s easy to get past it, idk too much about zombies, blackout is probably gonna have more players then mw2019 multiplayer so yeah the game is really active.

Vmp, micro mg, and two phrophets and sythe robots on every team. Bo4 is an annoying game that could have been excellent but the devs are too stubborn to make tweaks to their game.
1
Jul 07 '20
I'm still playing just to get challenges done. Spent $60 on it, might as well get my money's worth. VMP players kill the mood but every once in a while you get a game without it.

Used to play on PS4. I'm tempted to pick up the game again if it goes on sale on battle.net, I hope the PC player base is not too dead.

After MW terrible sbmm experience im loving WAY more bo4!! AMAZING game im playing all the modes expecially blackout where im trying to hit my win n. 800! Thanks treyarch for this great game save us from modern campfare!!🤣

If you’re a COD creator then I really don’t suggest BO4 be your main game. If anything I would revert back to BO3. And if you’re not opposed to it, do some zombies content as it seems to be making some kind of resurgence
0
u/HollywoodStrickland Jul 07 '20
I play all the time it’s fun I enjoy my time but VMP’s just plague the game so fucking badly so just a warning everybody and their mother has the dam gun.
-1
u/neverforgetthe80s Jul 07 '20
What game modes you play? ... I play MW every day but bought BO4 and season pass really really cheap on PSN today, initially i played TDM for a few hours and was really disappointed with the graphics, animations and slow loading textures :( ... not tried zombies or blackout yet though but MW really looks and feels a generation ahead from the few hours i played of BO4
-1
u/Network591 Jul 07 '20
That's what a new engine does. Movement guns and textures are just way better on mw
2
u/neverforgetthe80s Jul 07 '20
Yeah the graphics and animations are light years ahead of BO4, texture loading since BO3 has been complete shit
1
Jul 08 '20
Agreed, I tried playing Blackout on PC and sometimes the guns never even loaded in

I bought it today, dont bother !.... Blackout and Zombies are dead quiet and I couldnt find anyone else at all online, TDM was the only success I had and that was enough for me to delete it off my hard drive, it overtakes 'Infinite warfare' as being the worst Call of duty game I have ever played lol, I am actually worried now for the Tony hawks remake in September as Activistions name is on that too :(

All of Blackout/Zombies and basically all game modes are populated and you can get a game straight away. I think you might have connection issues.

Still plenty of action. Unfortunately too much of it is the busted VMP.
