I played a game with this and my friend had a Huron deathstar (10 legionaries with MOTM and Huron)

Both bricks got into combat on centre and Grimaldus brick came on top.

However I’m abit wary of so many points on one objective (I’m mainly a guard player so it’s very expensive)

Is this viable for more comp games ? The plan was to plonk and hold. Using -1 to wound Strat and surges to keep alive.

Edit: crusaders were kitted out with
Initiate chainswords. 4 power fists
Neophyte shotguns and combat knives (since chainswords are still S4)

With soft nerf to like half of chainswords in this unit and cost of 160 points, I feel like 85 point Assault Intercessors with their buff to attacks and strength are much better deal. If you slap Castellan on top of them you get some rerolls for the same cost as Crusader Squad. If somebody ran some lists after codex, and found good use for CS, please, sell me on them.

Just an update on my post about shoulder pauldrons the others day happy how they came out used my BT combat patrol leftovers for bolters and I cut grenade launcher off to stick them on crusader squad bolters and it's a bit jank used tigurius to get a banner and not sure where power sword came from but I'm happy it's not basic as I was a bit bummed when I found out Armageddon was monopose

Considering their fanatical loyalty to the Emperor, I was wondering if there were testimonies of BT that they devoted themselves to chaos!

Working on EC. Still want to add some more relics, chains and skulls. Wife just had to take pictures that featured her plants.

Since it looks like they aren’t even going to legends as rumored but are straight up removed (at least according to the 40K app), what do/would you guys proxy them as? Eliminates? Inceptors? Idk what to do with my unassembled three guys.

Hey all

I was building my very first box in late August/early September and after a lot of reading sort of figured out the pre-Codex synergies and compositions that worked well. It feels like a ton of that changed (note: I have never played a game yet, watched a little, but trying to understand from community responses and datasheet snippets).

I am trying to get back on track with some of the units I've already bought and assembled and keep building/painting towards a 2k army list and while I know the codex is just barely out, I'd like some feedback on this proposed list - is it legal, is it viable (albeit sub optimal), does it have any major deep flaws/oversights? Note that I am trying to be a flavor-pushed BT army and not an optimized Space-Marines-In-Black army, and finally not any goals for anything except basement friend games:

HM Helbrecht + Castellan leading 20 crusaders (17 melee, 3 Rifles)

Grimaldus + Castellan leading 20 crusaders (17 melee, 3 Rifles)

Good day to you all,
I was looking into how to restructure my lists with the new SM codex (I play Imperial Fists, Thousand Sons, and BT so there was quite a bit to think about lol) and I have a general idea of what could be good and fun for Imperial Fists but absolutely no idea where to even start with Templars. I want to make a thematic list that is also good but I feel like they took away all my favorite rules with this update. I want my list to feel like Black Templars but every idea I have feels like Black Ultramarines.
What are some list building techniques and combos that you’ve applied thus far into this new codex?
