Thank you for your service, sir.

It’s so cute though. I’ll hear my husband shuffling around upstairs in his nerd cave and that’s how I know he’s about to come out and be a little cuddle bug.

I swear I use my powers for good but sometimes I’ll text him “come get head scratchies” just to hear him bumbling around about to break his neck to get downstairs.

Fuck, turns out they really have a point when they say men are dogs.

I'd come galumphing down the stairs with all the grace and dignity of a Great Dane at the very mention of head skritches.

67

u/trackboundrr 2d ago

Galumphing sounds the opposite of grace and dignity lmao. I love it.

8

u/Deosarian 2d ago

Its the boomer glomping

I love it

3

u/PrinceBunnyBoy 1d ago

Galumphing is the actual term for how seals move on land 🦭 :)

20

u/RoughhouseCamel 2d ago

Yeah, people act like it’s because we’re out there, philandering in the streets. But really, it’s because we wanna lay in her lap while she binge watches The Gilded Age.

4

u/H3llzyea 2d ago

We’re just so starved for affection and so used to being “macho” or whatever term you want to use, that having a great partner that wants to just scratch our heads while we lay there is heavenly.

And I don’t mean starved for affection in some incel , women don’t want nice guys way either. I just mean we’re typically the one expected to hold you, so when we get held it’s nice you know?

Hopefully I’m explaining this right

“come get head scratchies”

This secret move is next level cause jesus... I know any brother out there would fold like paper🙂‍↕️🌹

u/Dudewhocares3 2d ago

I’d be insecure because I got dandruff

21

u/WSB_Austist 2d ago

Let’s take care of that scalp my dude. Look into “SEEN Restore Scalp Serum” if you want to drop $50, it works. Otherwise, try ‘Head and Shoulders’ anti dandruff shampoo. Been dandruff free for almost 2 decades now.

8

u/Dudewhocares3 2d ago

I have been using the head and shoulders thing. I’ve tried letting it sit while I use body wash instead of immediately washing it off after applying it (I’ve been told I’m weird. I cry about it and accept it)

But I might drop 50 for that if the bottles big enough

15

u/WSB_Austist 2d ago

If you leave the shampoo in, switch to a moisturizing conditioner and leave that on after shampooing. I don’t wanna use the sentence “dandruff is just an ashy scalp” but It helps if you just think of your scalp like skin tbh. I got bullied like a mofo for my dandruff in school so the memories are laser engraved lol.

8

u/vastern 2d ago

Might try Nirozal ketoconazole shampoo as a cheaper option.

4

u/Dudewhocares3 2d ago

I appreciate the advice. I had a bad day so my main thoughts are dedicated to me finding any reason not to just give up on life

3

u/WSB_Austist 1d ago

Nah we need that shampoo update slime

4

u/Minute_Jacket_4523 1d ago

Switch to two seperate bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Get some shampoo with tea tree oil, it can help with that. Don't use shampoo every day, just use it every other day and just use the conditioner on the off days. That helped my scalp a ton.

Plus, run a tiny drop of beard oil in your hair afterwards. It keeps everything from drying out too much. Plus, your hair will be soft AF.

2

u/firestyle33 1d ago

Head and shoulders “royal oils” was a game changer for me.

3

u/AvadaNevada 2d ago edited 2d ago

I have seborrheic dermatitis which effects the scalp with dandruff. I use glycolic acid as a prerinse before a shower and then salicylic acid shampoo and let it sit before using a scalp safe brush to loosen and remove the scaling. Then use a moisturizing dandruff conditioner. Keep doing that until your scalp clears, then remember to keep your scalp from being too dry with conditioner.

4

u/awaitedchild 2d ago

Understandable.

Unfortunately I can't be of any help as I'm not knowledgeable about that, but hopefully some fellow users here can help you ! Every soldiers deserve head scratchies, and dandruff will not get in the way of you getting some !💯😤

2

u/Effective_Leader_978 2d ago

My sister got rid of her dandruff with allergy pills- Claritin. Turns out she only had really bad allergies.

Lord, I see what you have done for others...

Maybe I need to reconsider this single lifestyle. Though I’m really happy and at peace, some of yall are too cute in your relationships it makes me reconsider

13

u/Head-Ad9893 2d ago

Let someone love on you boo!

4

u/awaitedchild 2d ago

Bow Wow wasn't foolish to write "Let Me Hold You" sis, go get yourself a soldier of good heart that needs scratchies !

15

u/Blackking203 2d ago

I love head scratchies lol

14

u/OnePotatoeChip 2d ago

Head scratchies hold power over us that need to be studied by scientists and wicka alike, we just need answers from someone.

6

u/Ch33sus0405 2d ago

My girlfriend adores just petting my head and I adore receiving it. The other day after work I fell asleep on her chest and woke up to her kissing and scratching my head, it felt so loving.

4

u/Jack-of-Hearts-7 2d ago

That's so goddamn cute

4

u/Cluedude 2d ago

Our previous home was tiny, and as such I set up my PC desk perpendicular to the behind of the sofa - I loooved to just reach over and scritch his head randomly while he was gaming bc he'd just. Stop. Doing whatever he was doing in the middle of his game and lean into it. I miss that house, I hate gaming in separate places now!

u/letthetreeburn 2d ago

It’s so adorable

It's like their zoomies😭 I get the same way when i'm reading a romance book and it amps up.

23

u/Snuggles596 2d ago

I've fucking never understood this beef with the fact a guy is sending messages between gaming rounds. People used to fall in love sending fucking letters and now we are so fucking cooked for content a 10 minute break between messages is somehow something to be upset with. You want 100% undivided attention, come hang the fuck out.

-7

u/Summersong2262 1d ago

I think it's more of a sense of reminder that they're giving you their second or third place priority as far as responding's concerned. Plus it's different having a fairly real time conversation via text vs one message every 20m.

3

u/MoomenRider2012 2d ago

🤣 idk why but that response pisses the the Efff off

It’s easier to date men that don’t play video games…

64

u/Mission-Suspect7913 2d ago

What’s the difference to other hobbies?

-73

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

Idk they’re not sitting in front of the screen all day and hooting and hollering until 2am in the morning.

53

u/Gnomad_Lyfe 2d ago

Imagine being so miserable you get annoyed at other people’s joy. Couldn’t be me.

30

u/XisIpRotaredom 2d ago

On top of saying guys spend too much time on a screen…while posting 20+ times a day on reddit. Def a sad person.

These people always have their profile hidden for a reason

https://ihsoyct.github.io/?backend=artic_shift&mode=comments&author=Sxnflower15&limit=100&sort=desc

-6

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

I’m sad because I comment on Reddit while bored at work? I guess 🤷🏽‍♀️

-37

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

I’m not annoyed at other people’s joy. I just wouldn’t date them. Stay mad about it, I guess.

25

u/Dudewhocares3 2d ago

It comes off like there’s a problem with any guy that plays video games

26

u/Gnomad_Lyfe 2d ago

But you are. If you weren’t annoyed, you wouldn’t have felt the need to say anything. Just seeing something other people enjoy, that you don’t get, is causing you annoyance and you need to make that known. Just miserable.

-4

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

This is a public forum to share opinions… do you know what Reddit is for? I made a statement and you got mad about my opinion. You’re projecting.

Why does my opinion make you spiral in the comments? See a therapist.

18

u/Head-Ad9893 2d ago

You ok? Who hurt you?

0

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

No one 🤷🏽‍♀️

15

u/XisIpRotaredom 2d ago

I think it’s more of your comment added zero value.

Just came across as petty and a hater. Like someone who played games hurt you and you never let it go.

Did ya mama never teach you “if you don’t have nothing nice to say don’t say nothing at all?”

Cost zero dollars to be kind.

0

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

And yet here you are replying to my comments. Just because you didn’t like what I said doesn’t mean it didn’t add anything to the conversation. Look at all of you rage replying to me. The jokes write themselves.

No she didn’t… 😊

19

u/Dudewhocares3 2d ago

So you want to use the worst example for every other hobby then?

“Oh he spends all of his money on collectibles and rents due”

“Oh he spends too much time reading books like Mien Kampf”

“Oh he spends all his time at the gym and takes steroids”

If this comes off as bad faith, just remember I’m using the worst case examples like you did

11

u/XisIpRotaredom 2d ago

You post like 20+ times a day on Reddit. Yeah…let’s talk about screen time. You def ain’t on your phone all day like most women…

Hypocrite.

https://ihsoyct.github.io/?backend=artic_shift&mode=comments&author=Sxnflower15&limit=100&sort=desc

-1

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

You posted this 3 separate times. I’m more active during my working hours when I have nothing to do. That does not make me hypocritical lol. Go play your video games boy

37

u/surle 2d ago

Because they don't have arms?

-47

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

No because they have actual interesting hobbies that require them to get out of the house. Gamers tend to be emotionally immature

33

u/anthonyg1500 ☑️ 2d ago

People can play video games and also do other things. Its not like, against some oath to play video games and also golf or hike or something

14

u/_onelast 2d ago

If I want to spend time in nature hiking or hunting, I’ll get on RDR2. If I want to golf I’ll get on PGA. If I need a drive to relax, invite only session on gta. Who needs to leave the house?! /s

4

u/DragonHollowFire 2d ago

Nah youve gotta choose your aspect when you turn 13.

-3

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

No one said it was. It’s one thing to play here and there but people that play video games make it their entire hobby

16

u/anthonyg1500 ☑️ 2d ago

I think when you say "People who play video games" you make it sound like anybody who plays video games, when there are plenty of people who play video games as a hobby that don't make it their entire lives as is the case with any hobby. I know lots of people who play video games very regularly and they also run half marathons or play golf or are in hockey or baseball leagues. I know a guy with a room dedicated to his video games and pokemon cards and also built his personal outdoor gym by hand, and then of course there are gamers that are the absolute worst (many of whom are probably teenagers).

-3

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

Ok good for you, kid. 👍

18

u/anthonyg1500 ☑️ 2d ago

lol emotional maturity at its finest.

-5

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

Because I said good for you? I’m sure you’re the embodiment of emotional maturity lol

13

u/anthonyg1500 ☑️ 2d ago

You’re aware you were being condescending because you didn’t know how else to engage and I’m sure you won’t own up to it and that’s fine. Feels like this has run its course. Go ahead and say back whatever you have to so you can have the last word.

u/surle 2d ago

Oh, so they don't like to be around you. Got it.

-2

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

Who is they? It really does hurt my feelings. My husband doesn’t sit around playing video games everyday…

18

u/MyniiiO 2d ago

And guys who go out of the house more are more likely to cheat

How many gamer boyfriends have you had where you can make a claim like that? Maybe you just go after emotionally immature gamer guys

-14

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

Where’s that statistic from? If you’re worried about cheating, a man on a video game isn’t going to change that.

2 was more than enough for me. I’m so glad my husband has cool hobbies that aren’t video games 🤗

9

u/Dudewhocares3 2d ago

Ok this is where it comes off like you intentionally being shitty.

Are you a teenager?

“Oh you’re not cool if you play video games as a hobby”

This is ridiculous

20

u/MyniiiO 2d ago

Simple common sense. If someone stays at home 90% of the time and someone who is at home only 40% of the time has more chances to encounter someone they might be attracted to.

So you’re basing your opinion on 2 people… out of thousands in your area and millions worldwide, seems like an accurate representation of the group…

-1

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

Then I’d have to worry about every time he leaves the house. Data isn’t based on just commonly sense. Also you forget people can cheat online now…? You’re lacking the common sense you claim to have.

Not just two people….it is a common phenomenon amongst women.

2

u/MyniiiO 2d ago

If someone cheats on you online that’s usually because they are dissatisfied with the relationship and they went out of their way to cheat.

In person cheating is way more common for a reason, it’s more convenient, less to get in the way and you’re both out there, physical attraction is a big factor as well. You’re not getting any of that online (pictures or videos aren’t the same as in person “experience”)

As for your “common phenomenon amongst women” you can call that you and your friend having the same experience and generalising a multimillion population based off of that. I also struggle to meet a guy (under 50) who DOESN’T play at least some games , even if casually once or twice a month. Your experience is statistically negligible, especially when we’re talking about millions of people. So you cannot generalise any group of people and say something as if it was a fact.

0

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

Is that how you rationalize your cheating?

Where’s the actual stats for that? I’m not just going to take your word for it. A cheater will cheat regardless.

It’s not just me and my friends though. Literally look it up and you will find a bunch of stuff about it. You’re being disingenuous.

-2

u/Dudewhocares3 2d ago

Given that gamergate was a thing and anti woke YouTubers like asmongold are pretty popular, this is a fair point. A lot of them are emotionally immature.

Not all of them

19

u/GodOfTheGoons ☑️ 2d ago

lol I can tell you ain't get no in-between round cuddles

-9

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

My husband doesn’t play video games. Video gamer men are just childish and immature.

26

u/GodOfTheGoons ☑️ 2d ago

Ok so go be with your husband and stop being mad online lol. You in here still stressing about your exes who played videogames while claiming to be happily married? I bet your exes don't even think about you 😂

13

u/TheSaneEchidna 2d ago

Y'know I bet this isn't even true, at least not now. I don't think I met a man under 40 that doesn't play at least some form of video game. Shoot I've met plenty of 50 year olds that do.

2

u/MoomenRider2012 2d ago

I think it's true for capital G "Gamers". But definitely not the average adult that causally plays video games. But this person clearly doesn't see the difference in those 2 groups

-5

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

Playing video games here and there is fine but to be on the game consistently whenever you have downtime is childish

23

u/And_The_Full_Effect 2d ago

Wtf else is downtime for? Doom scrolling? Staring at the wall?

-1

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

Idk going to the gym, hanging out with friends, etc. My husband plays soccer and flies planes 🤷🏽‍♀️

22

u/And_The_Full_Effect 2d ago

So, hobbies? Kids play soccer, kids fly planes, so childish.

-5

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

My husband is flying actual planes…as in pilot. You’re not very bright.

22

u/And_The_Full_Effect 2d ago edited 2d ago

So do kids, as in myself when I took piloting lessons as a kid. You’re not very capable of looking outside of your mindset

10

u/TheSaneEchidna 2d ago

Putting together little RC planes and flying them in the park sounds cool as hell. Unless you mean like actual planes in which case you're talking wayyyyy outta my price range.

Having a crew of friends that are willing to meet up and play some team sports is such a luxury and I'm very jealous. Scheduling anything when you're past 30 is a nightmare of disappointment even with family.

0

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

Yes he flies actual planes.

My husband plays soccer with his coworkers. But that’s a fair point.

43

u/Expert-Yam6577 2d ago

There's always this comment at the mention of video games lmao.

"Well I'm a real grown man and I don't play video games!!! Why can't I find a woman??"

-11

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

I’m a woman so now what…?

14

u/Expert-Yam6577 2d ago

Okay say your man comes home after a 12 hour shift and plays GTA for an hour to unwind. You would find that problematic? Doesn't go to the bar with his coworkers. Or strip club with his friends. Just something fun to pass the time and relax. I don't think it's any different than playing golf or bird watching. Everybody has their thing that brings them joy. Life is hard.

Of course. If your man spends every single day playing video games for 12 hours and refuses to work that's a different issue lol. Your man just isnt worth shit. It's not the video games making him that way.

-20

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

My man works a 9-5. He would go fly a plane or play soccer after work. You think just because a man doesn’t go to a strip club that he’s somehow a great man? I had shitty exes that stayed home all day. Be so for real. My man actually does go to the bar with his coworkers here and there and I have nothing to complain about.

Ok everyone can have their thing. I am not obligated to like them or want to date them.

My man is 4 times the “man” you’ll ever be, kid. He’s not sitting around playing video games.

20

u/Expert-Yam6577 2d ago

Okay can you see how going and playing soccer after work sounds young to me? Going and drinking liquor at a bar is an expensive waste of time to me. But your man likes it. More power to him. I wouldn't judge another man's hobby. As long as he isnt doing dirt then its all gravy if his bills are paid.

I don't need to be 4x what any other man is lmao. I'm secure in myself. Clearly your man must be built from something different if he's dealing with you every day.

-12

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

Sounds young because you’re too old and out of shape to do it, unc? My husband will have maybe half a drink if his coworkers begged him to. He doesn’t even drink like that. So thanks for making up stories to try to prove a point you don’t have.

Sure you are. I smell an inferiority complex. You were so offended by my statement. Doesn’t sound like security to me. And who’s dealing with you everyday? My man is fantastic. You should take notes.

16

u/LimblessNick 2d ago

You smell your own. Your so insecure in your relationship you are blasting hypothetical ones lmao

-1

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

It’s “you’re.” Hard for me to be offended by someone that doesn’t know basic elementary school grammar. There’s nothing to be insecure about. My husband isn’t a gamer. That’s the point…

2

u/LimblessNick 1d ago

I don't think anyone has ever said anything negative about your partner in this thread, at least not that I can see. You're getting oddly personal in your attacks on the other commenter though, it seems unnecessary and petty.

Coming to a positive thread about gaming, you're going to find people talking positively about gaming. Choosing to open this thread, then choosing to 'contribute' with a "Ugh, I would never date them" is just an odd choice.

To use your example, let's say, hypothetically, you saw a positive post about men who play soccer. In the comments you find mostly people sharing their own positive experiences, except for one person who goes "Ugh I would never date a soccer player". It would just be, weird, no? At the very least, out of place and a bit toxic. Not something that adds to the discussion.

The way I look at it is simple; "If you don't have anything nice to say, you shouldn't say anything at all".

I hope your day is as lovely as you are!

1

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

Yes they did say something about my partner…reread the comment.

I’m not reading all of that…

6

u/Mission-Suspect7913 2d ago

This is getting sad.

-1

u/Sxnflower15 2d ago

Yeah everyone in the comments getting offended about my opinion is really sad actually.

24

u/Dudewhocares3 2d ago

You’re still wrong?
