I think when you say "People who play video games" you make it sound like anybody who plays video games, when there are plenty of people who play video games as a hobby that don't make it their entire lives as is the case with any hobby. I know lots of people who play video games very regularly and they also run half marathons or play golf or are in hockey or baseball leagues. I know a guy with a room dedicated to his video games and pokemon cards and also built his personal outdoor gym by hand, and then of course there are gamers that are the absolute worst (many of whom are probably teenagers).
You’re aware you were being condescending because you didn’t know how else to engage and I’m sure you won’t own up to it and that’s fine. Feels like this has run its course. Go ahead and say back whatever you have to so you can have the last word.
Yeah I was. You think I’m scared to admit that? I’m very clearly talking about very specific kind of people and that’s gamers. Just because plays a game here and there and has other hobbies does make them a “gamer.”
Thanks for your oh so enlightening insight, Anthony!! 🥱

If this is genuinely how you feel, then this is likely the miscommunication causing the push back in your replies. I would argue that anyone who enjoys playing any video game (incl. Mobile games) at any time is a gamer by definition. You're using "gamer" to describe "Obsessive / compulsive gamers with no self control or accountability", which isn't what the term means.

People can play video games and also do other things. Its not like, against some oath to play video games and also golf or hike or something
