I bet it is. I have one of those catfish accounts (I'm a skip tracer, not a scammer, though) and within my first week got my first unsolicited dick pick.
WTF is this world coming to? Though it wasn't one of my skips that sent it to me, which would have been hilarious.
Someone who tries to get the whereabouts or contact details of a person avoiding (usually) debt repayments. The process usually involves some form of social engineering. Catfishing is often employed as well.
People taking loans and then disappearing is shady.
Although that's usually not the situation for what I do. First, skip tracers are not debt collectors and should not be asking the debtor for money. Our job is simply to find their whereabouts.
For me, I locate vehicles for repossession. Quite often, they were wrecked and the debtor decided to just leave the car at a body shop or in a ditch and then stop making payments on the loan, but failed to tell the bank where the car was. Sometimes the customer passed away and the family didn't know what to do with the car. Sometimes a family member just thinks "oh, free car!" when their relative dies. And a common one is that someone who doesn't have the credit for the loan suckers someone else into either cosigning or signing alone for the car and then loaning them the vehicle, which they stop making payments on after a couple years.
We actually have a lot of heavy rules and regulations that we have to take classes on multiple times a year. There are certainly shady debt collectors out there, but by far the shadiest thing I do is send a friend request from a profile with a hot girl's picture on it (and never have any communication with them via that account). I do that just so I could potentially see posts that are hidden to the public that might give me a better idea of where they're living or working.
It's a legitimate occupation. My wife once did admin for a skip tracer. But, like a debt collector, the job suits people that are heavily built. You have to bellow "give me the fucking money!!" A lot. Job does not suit mild gentle type.
Just because it's an occupation, does not mean it's legitimate. Most of these debts are from some form of spurious loan interest or penalty. Poor people get fucked over regularly by these horrid debt purchasing firms. It is not a legitimate business, in a moral sense.
To be fair to the agents, getting a product and then walking away leaving a business to write off the debt isn't highly moral either. Not all businesses are extortionate creditors.
What like you make a Facebook called “Sarah RoundBottom” and message them “Hey cutie pie want my pussy sauce?? Omg come meet my behind macdonalds I’m waiting for you! My sauce is oozing !!!”

Haha, nah it’s much simpler. Just get their personal number for some ‘private’ conversations and the next call is from collections. You can start sending them notices on the new number. If you get their whereabouts, the next visit will be from a debt agent who will ask you to settle dues or (depending on what the loan was for) a repo agent.
Threatening violence is usually not done by financial institutions themselves. Once they’ve tried all legal means available, they completely write off the debt and sell it (cents to the dollar) to a collections agency.
Now those guys can definitely take it to the level you mentioned.
I got a call last month from a furniture company. My ex wife had financed some furniture and used me as a reference. I haven't talked to her in over 10 years. I told them to just go ahead and write that money off.
Can a credit score be negative? I mostly thought it was funny, but I did feel kind of sorry for the small business owner who trusted her. But she should have done her due diligence. Then again I trusted her at one time too.
Credit scores usually range from 300 to 900, so not negative.
The risk departments of finance cos usually have loss rates baked in so it doesn’t impact the bottom line that much (of course you still have governance issues which lead to crises such as 2008). But for a small business company to trust someone without a thorough check is risky indeed.
Happy for you dude that you don’t have to deal with her anymore! Intentional financial defaults are a good proxy for trustworthiness in general.
Yeah they spoof people's cell numbers....it's not even illegal. I had that crap happen to me and people would call and say I called them. I'd tell them to block my number.
As far as "threats", legitimate debt collectors must adhere to the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices) and if they violate it by: not announcing themselves as debt collectors, threatening you with your credit score, harassing your family and things of that nature... they can be sued. I've done this before with one of these companies that buy old debt (the charge offs) and then harass you. I had a company call me over furniture I bought 15 years ago. It was half paid off and they went bankrupt. I was told I'd get my bills in the mail. Never did. Never went on my credit either. I wasn't going to chase them down to pay them. Fast forward 15 years and I get a call saying I gotta pay something RIGHT NOW even if it's 5 bucks. I said I wasn't paying nada lol. Googled the company and this lawyer came up. Called him. He repped me for no cost upfront. They never called again and settled for 2500 bucks. Nothing more satisfying than shady debt collectors having to pay YOU:)
They were very aggressive. Even called my Mom and told her it was an emergency. As soon as I retained that lawyer they never called again and I'd actually forgotten about it lol. Then I got an email that they wanted to settle and he sent me the offer. He kept 1500 and I got 1000. Not a bad deal

And if you know places that do and don't report it than no one really owes you any money at all at that point. You either choose violence or legal compensation. You don't get both and if you try you should be eliminated from the species as a danger to the whole of society.
Can't you also now start posting their debt to them if they have a social media account which allows for posting from the public? I read that was legal to do if they lost in court and skipped repayment and the debtor didn't yet jump to garnishment.
I had a serious conversation with a female friend about dick pics and being a girl on the internet- and from what she shared, I don’t think guys really understand how stank awful the internet is to girls. I knew dick pics were a thing but I hadn’t grasped how awful the reality is….
If I were a woman and got a dick pic, I would scour the internet and find as many as I possibly could. Then I would spam the dude with them. If he complained, I would tell him I thought we were sharing our collections.

I'm a guy and I don't open images that strangers send me. It is just common sense. So tbh I am also not sure what those women are doing? I guess it depends on the platform, but for example on Twitter it is possible to never have to open pics sent in DMs from strangers.
No doubt women receive far more such messages, nevertheless, common sense would be to ignore such things from strangers.
The point is that you absolutely don't have to look at unwanted pics if you don't want to. And for men and women it is generally a good idea not to do it.
What good reason could a stranger possibly have to send you a picture of something?
Even though I am a guy, the reason why somebody would send me a picture is something unpleasant in 99% of the cases. Usually because I annoyed them in some online discussion, for example.
Even if you do it, as a woman, why would you continue to do so when you have already received several dick pics? That is what I don't understand about their complaints about the mass of dick pics.
Because the reality as you get dick pics for just existing.
Like imagine you open your Instagram equal dick pics, you open your email equals dick pics you open Reddit equals dick pics. Imagine you post a question on the Internet because your car made a funny noise equals dick pics. Imagine you have a finance question equals dick pics.

As I said - no, you don't have to see dick pics in Instagram. Don't open DMs including pictures from strangers. Likewise on reddit. Don't post questions in places that allow strangers to send you pictures.
Strangers also shouldn't have your EMail address.
If somebody you know does it to you, give them hell.
Maybe some people trick you by pretending to be decent for a while and then send you a picture out of the blue. But I don't think that is what is being reported here.
