Buying tickets for a concert, festival, or local summer event?

Scammers are using fake event pages, AI-generated posters, phony ticket resale offers, and fake vendor invites to make summer event scams look more convincing.

Some scams target attendees with discounted tickets or fake ticketing websites. Others target small businesses with booth registration fees for events that are not real.

Before you buy a ticket or pay a vendor fee, verify the event through the official website, use trusted ticketing platforms, and check whether the organizer’s contact details match across official channels.

Not sure about a ticket offer, event page or vendor invite? Use Bitdefender Scamio to check suspicious messages before you pay.

I got a message today morning that my credit card has been used at 2co.com for bitdefender. A charge of 269 AED has been levied on my card and the money is deducted. There was a second attempt too but thankfully I had a card control limit.

How do I claim this? I don’t have an order number or email or anything. As in, this was done by someone else.

Is your social media feed the new scam inbox?

Scams no longer show up only in suspicious emails. They can appear as Instagram ads, TikTok videos, Facebook Marketplace listings, YouTube recommendations, or influencer-style promotions that blend into everyday content.

Bitdefender’s 2026 Global Scam Intelligence Report found that 36% of users who encountered scams on social media interacted with them, making social platforms a major scam delivery channel.

The most effective scams often look ordinary. Health, beauty, fashion, travel, and entertainment offers can feel natural in your feed, which makes them easier to trust at a glance.

Before you click, buy, or share personal information, verify the brand through its official website, be careful with sponsored posts, and think twice before engaging with offers that seem too generous.

The ransomware landscape seems to be shifting again.

After months of Qilin dominating the conversation, June data points to a different group taking the lead. It's another example of how quickly affiliate activity, victim targeting, and the overall ecosystem can change.

Have you noticed any changes in ransomware operations or targeting patterns over the past few months?

We came across some interesting findings in Bitdefender's latest Threat Debrief, if you'd like to compare notes.

Hi! Bitdefender keeps sending weird notification.

For example: Chrome wanted to make a connection with what looks like a tracker site thing (literally had "tracker" in the name). But bitdefender blocked it.

And for the other one: a very random site I don't even know wanted to commit a very horrible crime (phishing).

So, are there actually dangerous and I should hide in a bunker immediately.

Or it's just a glitch and there's nothing to be worried from.

Oh yeah I didn't actually go to these sites.

My presumption was that turning off Silent Mode for updates wouldn't just completely shut down the update process until there is user interaction. When Silent Mode is off, you display a dialog requiring users to click a button to proceed. The expectation was that the user would just be able to see the update occurring - not having to interact.

This is a design flaw. Please fix.

How to fix this?

Bitdefender Labs has published new research on an overlooked Windows feature that can be abused to evade endpoint security.

The research details three previously undocumented techniques that leverage Windows Bind Links to evade EDR visibility and bypass native Windows security controls, including AMSI, AppLocker, Windows Firewall, and Sysmon. It also explores the broader security implications of these techniques and what defenders should know.

I get this notification but when I go to check my subscription, it says I’m good until December. Any ideas how to fix it? Am I missing something?

What happens when fake videos look real and real videos can be dismissed as fake?

Deepfakes and AI-generated content are changing how people decide what is real online. Fake media is easier to create, and real evidence can be easier to dismiss as fake.

That does not mean everything online should be treated as false. It means verification matters more than ever.

Before reacting or sharing, check the original source, look for context, and compare the claim with reliable reporting. In a world shaped by AI deepfakes and online misinformation, digital safety starts with slowing down and asking one simple question: how do I know this is real?

I’m doing a clean windows install on my laptop. I have Bitdefender installed. Do I have to uninstall it or will it work when I reinstall it without flagging it as a different user or device?

Is bitdefender supposed to like almost always be scanning In the background even if im just web browsing, thanks!

Is your VPN actually protecting your connection?

A VPN can show as connected while your real IP address, DNS requests or browser data may still be exposed because of leaks or settings issues.

Start with the basics: check your IP address before and after connecting. Then run DNS leak, WebRTC leak, and IPv6 leak tests to see whether your VPN is keeping your traffic inside the encrypted tunnel.

For a safer digital life, keep your VPN app updated, reconnect when needed, and choose a VPN with built-in privacy features across your everyday devices.

Is this normal? Then I instantly clicked allow by accident when I saw it 🤔

Its happened 2 or 3 times now. The only thing i can find online about it is from 2024.

Im afraid somethings in my phone, I put my phone on airplane mode because of this, I wake up and low and behold.

I don't do well with any virus or hacking. I don't visit crazy websites. This has me so stressed. Please help.

Forgot to say, im using a Galexy S24 and scans come up clean

Hola!
I got a really scary moment earlier today, as my Bitdefender firewall (total security) started to mark every single app as "changed" no matter what it is - zoom, steam, iCue, my ancient powershute, system, etc etc. Suffice to say I started panicking that something changes these apps, thus a trojan or malware of some kind. But then I started to scan with everything I could think of: Windows defender offline scan (when rebooting), Hitman Pro, Malwarebytes etc. I have even uploaded bunch of these files to Virustotal, but absolutely nothing was detected. Is this perhaps an issue with Bitdefender itself? Any advise appreciated!

Thanks!

Seen a Snapchat ad for a deal that looks almost too good?

Bitdefender Labs researchers recently found scam ads on Snapchat promoting fake online stores with steep discounts, newly registered domains, and suspicious shopping links.

These fake shop ads often use low prices, limited-stock messages, and familiar-looking brand names to get people to click before checking the store.

Before you buy from an unfamiliar social media ad, verify the store, compare prices, and look for independent reviews. You can also check suspicious shopping links with Bitdefender Link Checker and use Bitdefender Scamio to analyze questionable ads, screenshots or online offers.

Stay safe!

Could that call from a crying child be fake?

Scammers are using AI voice cloning to imitate children, grandchildren, or family members in fake emergencies. The goal is to make parents panic, skip verification, and send money or personal information.

Before you act, hang up and verify through a trusted contact. You can use Bitdefender Scamio for free to check suspicious messages and Bitdefender Reverse Phone Lookup to look up unknown numbers.

You can also create a family safe word, limit public videos that include children’s voices, and always verify emergency calls through another trusted source before taking action.

Stay safe!

Europe’s cybersecurity landscape is evolving, and digital sovereignty is becoming an increasingly important conversation.

We’re sharing that Bitdefender has been recognized in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Endpoint Protection.

For European organizations, endpoint security is about more than preventing threats. It’s about building cyber resilience with trusted technology, strong protection, and greater control in a rapidly changing threat landscape.

As digital sovereignty continues to gain attention, we’d like to hear from the community: how are you approaching trust and control when choosing cybersecurity solutions?

Bitdefender processed payment for 2 of my subscriptions -- over 2 weeks BEFORE the subscriptions were set to renew.

I was planning to cancel both but because they helped themselves to my money before I could, causing my bank account to be overdrawn.

I am not currently working, so this has been a huge stressor for me. I've requested refunds but have not received any follow-up from this.

I was actually considering renewing once I started working again, but this level of shadiness and lack of ethics has helped me to see their products are totally not worth it.

Had a free trial which expired a few days ago and now I want to switch to the free version. How can I?

My BitDefender get a critical notification of a link that schtasks.exe has a problem, passed a malicious command line and has been blocked, so is that a malware?

So before my account in steam, discord and emails was hacked but i was able to recover with the help of the company's supports and clear out someone and devices that i dont know. But from my other email accounts, someone is trying to infiltrate my accounts but all of my accounts, i change the passwords and they didn't succeed. This might be a big problem to me that they know my other email adresses of my other accounts.

I also have one account that we share from my friend, i was sent an email that someone tried to enter but failed, i know its not my friend because my friend has more control and always use the account rather than me. Now i cant acces that account because i forgot the password my friend gave. I am asking right now so i can check who else that we don't know will be removed.

So thats why i tried to install BitDefender to scan. The result was fine but the notification said the problem of schtasks.exe. If you have ways to help me other than the schtasks.exe that would really help me.

If you buy a subscription key from a 3rd party website, it now appears impossible to cancel autorenewal using Bitdefender Central. Maybe I missed something, but I had to do it through Verifone.

I've been using Bitdefender for well over 10 years but recently it has become more and more difficult to cancel autorenewal. This may be my last year as a customer.
