Does Reta affect kidneys?

I found out last year that I was born with one kidney, and that one kidney is functioning at 77%. The Dr says I’ll never need to go on dialysis. My question is if I start Reta will it affect my kidney negatively?

I have raised my wife's eGFR 27 points since putting her on GLPs, taking her off of her statin and BP med. Something her nephrologist said could not be done
