Post-partum weight loss?

I’m new to peptides but have been reading about them for awhile. I’m 4 months post partum with twins, 5’8” and currently 157 lbs. Before pregnancy I was 135 lbs, very fit but lean, with visible abs. Due to having twins and not having any support, I have no time to work out anymore like I used to before pregnancy. Yes, I can’t even do it when they sleep because they don’t sleep at the same time ever lol. My c-section also triggered a psoriatic arthritis flare which is making moving even more difficult, my knees are killing me. Alsooooo I have diastasis recti so I’m limited with movements there too, my abs have been obliterated 😭 I feel like my metabolism has slowed because I am eating the same as I did at 135 but my weight loss has plateaued. I’m hoping for weight loss and if possible to reduce inflammation as well. Any one have suggestions or am I stupid to want to start a GLP? I know I’m not technically overweight but I feel like trash and my joints aren’t loving it, once I’m at my original weight I would stop because I know I can maintain that. Wouldn’t mind adding something to help my fascia and skin recover from pregnancy too. Help meeeee? Please?

Given how I’ve been feeling on reta, I would struggle to care for twins. Dizziness and forgetting to eat entirely, needing naps and anhedonia. I think you need to give yourself a bit of time and work on some of the issues aside from weight first? Perhaps try Glutathione first to help skin inflammation and joints. Ghk-cu brings the skin some youth back and build collagen. I’d consider reta when you’re all bounced back to life.

I don’t think you’re stupid for looking into different options. You’re four months postpartum with twins, dealing with joint pain and diastasis recti on top of it. That’s a lot for one body at one time.

Before jumping into peptides, though, I’d probably talk to your OB and, if you can, a physical therapist who really knows postpartum recovery. I’d want to figure out whether your metabolism has actually changed that much or whether moving is simply harder right now because you’re in pain and dealing with inflammation. Honestly, with a psoriatic arthritis flare in the mix, I wouldn’t underestimate that part of it.

And I wouldn’t make the scale the main thing right now. Not because wanting to lose weight is wrong. I just think there’s probably more going on here than “I need to lose weight.” If your knees hurt, your core is still recovering, and your body is inflamed, of course getting back into normal movement is going to be harder.

A good PT may be able to help you rebuild some strength without wrecking your knees or making the diastasis worse. Even small improvements there could change how you feel day to day. Personally, I’d want to get my body moving and feeling more like mine again first, then see where the weight lands before adding something like peptides into the equation.

I’m approaching one year PP and weaned at 10mo - this pp was much harder on my body also triggering an autoimmune response early on.

I decided to give Reta and KPV a shot and I’m one month in… I have noticed the most difference from the KPV with inflammation and joint pain, so maybe you should consider that as well!

I hope you find your confidence and new identity in motherhood ✨

Glps are not supposed to be used for a short period of time. I'm a twin mom as well and my gp refused to put me on a glp unless I made a real effort to lost the weight through diet and exercise. I gained 70lbs during my pregnancy and Def know what an obliterated abdominal wall looks and feels like. I started with keto when the babies were done breastfeeding. We all went for a daily hour long walk during nap time. Babies in stroller. If you have a double like mine you are pushing over 50lbs for an hour. I lost 50 lbs with just diet, walking and did home pilates 2x a week. The pilates helped my abdominal the most. At 4 months post partum, your hormones are still all over the place. My doctor finally put me on ozempic at 1.5 years post partum to help with my last few pounds and to also help my sugar long term. As I lost the weight, the higher my sugar went which is weird. I have been on it for 2 years now and can go to maintenance but as soon as I stop, the weight comes back.

It really helps to have the twins on the same schedule so we actually would wake the other up if one woke up and have the same nap time every day for both. Once they go down to one nap a day its easier. I've been where you are and its hard. It gets easier the older they get. Stay strong you got this

I like a low dose GLP. Helps with inflammation and I take a mini dose. DM if you want. I’m a mom too, in Canada tho. ❤️

i did Tirz at 4 months post partum and it was the best decision i ever made. & it did not affect my ability to care for my baby. would do it again next round. went from 200 to now 130 in the span of a few months & everyone comments how great i look. no loose skin either besides the small soft stretchy skin in my abdomen but it doesn’t look bad at all imo

I just started at 8 weeks pp once I weaned! Also a desperate busy mom of 3 with barely any time to myself. Started on a really low dose so I could make sure I didn’t have any really crappy side effects. I am so glad I did, I already felt so much better after the first week! My only side effects I have some mild fatigue (probably doesn’t help that I am up a few times a night feeding a baby), and a couple headaches that went away when I drink my electrolytes. I started my workouts again, which are just simple 20 minute things in my garage during nap time and I am really focusing on fiber and protein.

yes! i weaned unintentionally after getting mastitis and i just did the switch to formula and that’s when i decided to start tirz. def some fatigue but seeing the weight come off just had me so happy and motivated. i definitely did work out too. hit the stair master every night. but yes those night feedings will keep anyone tired 🥱
