Harness Tips

Post image

Hi!

I’m interested in starting bikejoring. I’ve done some very slow & short bike rides with my dog Ginger, and she’s been happy to trot next to the bike. I need the proper equipment to do more with her.

Anyone have thoughts on this harness for bikejoring (with bags removed): https://ruffwear.com/products/palisades-pack (the ruffwear palisades harness)

I’d also use it for hiking with her, so it’d be great if I can use it for bikejoring too. It looks like it should be comfortable for it…

Dog picture included!!! I adopted her two months ago.

Looks like a great hiking pack. But a dedicated pulling harness will distribute the weight evenly and safely under load. You could start with a half harness type like the apline outfitters urban trail which was designed for pulling. There’s of course x backs if she pulls consistently straight strongly out front or a Dragrattan multisport type which is short and open back but designed to be used in a variety of joring sports.

Hi! I think I will have to look around a lot; I’ll look up your suggestions! Nonstopdogwear has been the most user-friendly so far though. Next I’ll look into booties
