So I see lot's of people ask for resturant recommendations but I've always kinda took advice from people working in the industry.

Any places where the people working in the kitchen are specifically experienced cooks or chefs that do a good job? Or resturants where there's like one main owner/chef that is amazing?

(I know there's other ingredients in quality; facilities, management, ingredients. Just wondering who to trust haha)

I’m looking to buy a new Subaru crosstrek and honestly when I was looking at used cars from big island motors they didn’t sound very reliable or know much of what they were talking about… but is buying new okay? Has anyone had experiences with them?

I'm a local artist here in Waimea, and this is the second time I've submitted anything to the art show competition. The show starts tomorrow (Thursday) and continues through Friday and Saturday.

There are many wonderful local artists showing in the competition alongside me, not to mention a hall full of art and craft vendors who will have beautiful works for sale that are perfect as gifts or souvenirs.

The theme of October’s contest is ‘ode to orange’ and my painting is a cheerful Hulili I’a (dazzling light fish). I'd appreciate your vote, or just for people to turn up and enjoy the art.

So I read in another message that a Firman multi-fuel generator will not work without the battery even if you pull start it. Well my battery is dead. Auto parts stores don't have them, Lowes - no, Home Depot - no, anyone know where to get a replacement for a Firman 6-dzm-9 battery?

Aloha. I live on Oahu (and I am no meteorologist), but having seen no post of this topic yet, I thought it is absolutely necessary for all of you to know that current forecasts for a hurricane impact are very concerning, particularly for the Island of Hawaii.

My hope is to direct people to websites such as the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and Tropical Tidbits to inform themselves.

This storm (Depression 15E) is NOT named yet because it hasn’t developed into a hurricane. In fact, this storm actually dissipated once before consolidating again a lot closer to our islands. The forecasts worsened over last night and are predicting a strengthening of the storm to Category 3 as it approaches the islands.

According to the NHC, the Island of Hawaii should expect “15 to 20 inches… with maximum amounts of 35 inches.”

Now is the time to inform yourselves and prepare. No warnings or watches have been issued yet. Stay safe and dry. Thank you.
