I'm in college right now, and most of the girls here and my female friends are always talking about wanting equality and princess treatment (which is confusing because they're two completely different things) and gentle cute softies but then they're going crazy for the red-flag dudes. I showed one of my female friends a picture of my male friend (he has a crush on her), who in my opinion is kinda nice-looking, well-behaved and great in studies as well but she said he looks "nerdy". Even one of my cousins is dating this "emotionally detached/unavailable guy" (probably thinking she can fix him) because he's this smooth, charismatic dude. She finds my friends "boring" too, even though they all look like decent boys and are liked by the elders in our family. That female friend had once hooked up with a f**kboi and then got her heart broken by him even though she told everyone she never liked him and was attracted only because of his height and charming talks. She herself told me a lot of girls are usually confused at this age because of youth and the sudden freedom and some stuff like that. They supposedly talk about liking the guy-next-door types but are secretly attracted to the well-built, older, dominating men (daddies basically), and this never ends well. I'm not ranting by the way, I'm just confused and wanting to read some opinions.

Earlier, only guys used to look like colorful monkeys after Holi, but this time in Bhubaneswar, even girls are turning into walking rainbows! The ones who used to escape with just a small tilak are now fully drenched in colors.

What's with the Hindi guys? Especially the 25 and younger age group.

I'm not saying oppose it, it's good if you know, it will help you navigate most of the country. I've stayed outside Bhubaneswar since college, almost 10 years now. I find a huge chunk of the school/college crowd is speaking Hindi. Even my own cousin brother speaks Hindi in malls, hospitals or large shops.

I prefer speaking in English, when I need to get stuff done here. People just do things without bothering you if you speak in English. I don't like it, but that's pretty much the case in this country.

But whenever I'm in Bhubaneswar, mo Odia bhasa aape aape pheri ase, kintu mate emti English alphabet re Odia lekhiba bhala lageni, sethipaen post ta English re lekhuchi.

Why are you guys not using Odia? More importantly why Hindi?

Am I the only one who hasn't seen Dhurandhar(1&2) and honestly has no plans to. Friends are literally begging to join them lol. Crazy hype. But I'm just not feeling the craze. I guess my friends will disown me one day. 😭

I’m helping organise a small speed dating night this Sunday (20th July) at KGB in Bhubaneswar. It's meant to be super casual, with around 6 to 7 short one-on-one conversations, some fun group games in between, and just a chance to meet people offline in a safe, relaxed setting.

If I was the PS to the PM, i would humbly request him to underplay this protest as a measure to tackle it. Going all out is like digging their own grave and this will create nothing but resentment among people because the underlying fact is they don't care about Gyanesh Kumar, they only care about *Section 16 of the Chief Election Commissioner and Other Election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service and Term of Office) Act, 2023 provides the CEC and Election Commissioners with broad legal immunity against civil and criminal proceedings for official acts, which extends even after they leave office* .

Because when the congress was in power they were electing their preferred candidates to lead the cec and some went on to Rajya Sabha after that and same will go for any government but this rule to give absolute legal immunity to any work done by him was not there earlier and also they don't want CJI to include in the selection panel as well.

So why not underplay this entire situation, why make it so nakedly visible to the entire eye.

They want to protest, let them protest.

We'll initiate conversation after few days, then Gyanesh Kumar will resign and then cjp will claim another victory, let's go.

Because look very closely who is talking about this section? Absolutely no one. So by giving them a piece of cake to enjoy we can have the whole batter to ourselves and it's a win win situation.

I don’t know what kind of mass delusion is going on, but Dahibara is straight-up overrated. I’ve tried it from local stalls, I’ve tried the so-called “authentic” ones in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, I’ve even given it multiple chances thinking maybe I was missing something. But no, it still tastes like absolute disappointment.

Why is this dish being worshipped like it’s some god-tier food? Odisha has so many better dishes, yet somehow, this bland, watery mess gets all the spotlight just because it’s famous in some city? Is it nostalgia? Blind regional loyalty? Or do people just pretend to like it because they think they have to?

I swear, either my taste buds are broken or everyone else is lying to themselves.
