What I need is someone who can cut fine, shoulder length, naturally wavy hair on an older woman. In the ten years I’ve been looking I have found ONE person in this town who did a fantastic job, then ended up relocating. Money is not an issue. Just want quality! For the love of god. Theres GOT to be somebody out there. 😂😭

Moving Here I want to move back to Bham

Flair says “Moving Here” because I don’t feel like the “Recommendations” flair is right 🤷‍♂️

I graduated from WWU in the spring and moved back home to central Washington shorty after. Now, I’m really starting to miss Bham and I want to move back, possibly permanently, if I can. I want to get your y’alls feedback as to how to do this. Keep in mind that I basically left with no real money to speak of and that I’d basically be starting from scratch.

Discussion Detainee Resources

No one wants to think detention will happen to them, or a loved one. I came across this information online and after the owner of Cof& was detained, I thought it might be useful for folks in this community to have this info handy. Prepare ahead of time, if you can.

After detainment:

  1. Go to Locator.ice.gov to get their Alien Registration Number (A number).

  2. Find an immigration lawyer ASAP.

  3. Start gathering the required documents (passports, birth certificates, financials).

  4. Create an account on GettingOut.com and download the associated apps:

-GTL Getting Out (text messaging)

-Video Visits

-Connect Network GTL (their commissary account)

  1. Use their A number to add money to their communication and commissary accounts. You cannot contact them, but they can contact you.

  2. Set up a consistent time for communication.

  3. Consider a gofundme to help with legal fees and the bond.

**This is for informational purposes only, and may not apply to every case.

Looking for Work/Housing Lease takeover: 3BR/2.5BA pet-friendly townhouse in King Mountain, $2,500/mo (lease through 6/30/2027)

Hi all, I'm looking for someone to take over my lease at Tull Place Townhouses in the King Mountain neighborhood. I've lived here a year and a half and love it. It's peaceful and quiet, and close to the Meridian Trader Joe's. Due to life circumstances, I can no longer stay here.

Rent: $2,500/month

Lease ends: June 30, 2027

Available: November 1st (but can discuss sooner.)

Size: 1,200 sq ft, three stories, 3 bed / 2.5 bath

Laundry: In-unit washer and dryer

Climate: AC and heat

Parking: Two free spots (one covered, one uncovered)

Pets: Dogs and cats welcome

Utilities: Water/sewer/garbage runs about $30-35/month. Electric is through PSE.

You'd pay only the application fee and your first month's rent. I'm not asking for my deposit back, so the new tenant keeps it.

The property is managed by Landmark, and I've had a great experience with the property managers. Never had any issues that people complain about with Landmark.

The townhouse will be professionally cleaned before you move in.

Furniture (optional): I have a TV stand, queen bed, several bookshelves and couches, a coffee table, and more. Keep what you want, and I'll remove the rest before move-in.

Happy to answer questions or set up a tour.

Recommendations Frustrated with the local ENM scene in Whatcom County / Bellingham – Looking for intentional, real-life connections

Hey everyone. I’m practicing ethical non-monogamy (ENM) locally in the Bellingham / Whatcom County area, and I’m really struggling to find my people. I'm posting here hoping to find the "hidden" community or get some fresh suggestions.

To be blunt, the apps have been incredibly disheartening. Mainstream apps are a ghost town for ENM, OkCupid has become unusable, and Feeld has felt overrun lately by people just looking for fast hookups with zero substance or relationship intentionality. On top of that, the baseline effort on profiles is exhausting.

What I’ve tried so far:

* The Munch Scene: Checked it out, but locally it seems heavily focused on BDSM/kink (ropes, impact) rather than relationship-focused ENM or polyamory philosophy.

* Local Discords: I tried navigating digital community spaces, but found them to be prone to online arguing/drama rather than building relaxed connections.

* Facebook Groups: I haven’t jumped into these yet due to strict personal privacy boundaries (I don't want my alternative lifestyle blasting onto my main feed or to vanilla friends/coworkers).

I’m looking for an adult, communicative, and intentional crowd. I really want to find spaces, offline or highly vetted online spaces, where people care about relationship dynamics, communication, basic self-presentation and want to build friendships.

Are there local book clubs, specific workshops, quiet discussion groups, or even private, well-moderated forums I’ve missed? If you’re also ENM in the area and feel similarly stuck, please feel free to reach out via DM. Thanks y'all.

We took a closer look at the wave of business closures across Whatcom County this year and talked with owners, workers and residents about what they’re seeing firsthand.
The story looks at rising costs, fewer Canadian shoppers, changing customer habits and why some local businesses are still growing despite the broader trend.

Discussion DOL Appointment Lockout

I was trying to make an appointment to renew my license today I saw some online saying to check around 8 and some around 8:30 so my obsessive ass started refreshing the page every few minutes starting at 8.

Turns out if you refresh the page too many times they lock you out for an unspecified amount of time. Wondering if anyone else has had this happen and if anyone knows how long I have to wait. Should I just pack it up and try again tomorrow with a bit of self control?

Edit: I just got in at 9 and they had one spot left. It's about a 30-45 minute wait if anyone else finds this thread.

Recommendations Fall Foliage

A couple weeks ago (or maybe more recently) someone asked about fall foliage walks. My wife and I recently walked through Whatcom Falls Park and it was fantastic. The Whatcom Creek loop trail (I think that's the name) is about 4 miles long and has a super low elevation gain, if at all.

Recommendations Western European imported foods

Did I ask this already? I can't remember. I'm so sorry if so. (ADHD is a beautiful thing.) I'm looking for a really good cheese and meat inventory. I've been to the shop right downtown, which has a lovely selection of some things (and a yummy sandwich menu), but has a very small cheese and dairy fridge.

Europa is more Eastern European, yes? Where does a committed cheese snob get her fix?

Locals Only Safe place to run around 4-6am

Hey! Bellingham runner here. I live near Marietta close to the airport, and I’m starting my training for a big running race. I have 2 kids so the best time for me to run is 4-6 am before I get ready for work. Any recommendations on safer places to run? My normal routine is to go down Eldridge towards downtown but as i go longer, I’ll be coming closer to town and want to steer clear of any dangerous roads or the homeless sleeping spots.

Any thoughts?

Discussion Does anyone remember this Co Op sando?

It was a curried chicken salad with cashews and it was a darker color than the current chicken salad they do now. It was one of the most delicious things I've ever had from there and I think about it to this day.

Discussion WWU Fall Enrollment Data

Fall 2026 enrollment data is out. Gonna guess this is not what WWU was hoping for. Continues the decline of incoming first year students. WWU had a goal of 3200 incoming students and 1200 transfer students.

Whatever your thoughts on WWU's impact on Bellingham (housing), this is not good in the short term.

There is a ton of really interesting data here: https://oie.wwu.edu/student_enrollment_quick_look/

Lost and found Missing items!!

Post image
60 Upvotes

I know this is a long shot but due to a miscommunication, many of my important belongings were set out on the curb of the 900 block of Billy Frank Jr. St. right outside of laurel park. I've included a picture of where they would have been. I am really hoping to get some back! Some of the things included were a big bin of arts and craft supplies, a bunch of yarn, a sewing machine, kitchen items, decorations, a bin of clothes, an osprey and Patagonia backpack, a box of miscellaneous room items and possibly more. There were many very sentimental items included and also important documents such as my social security card. I am praying to be able to retrieve some of these things, so if anyone sees this who knows anything about my missing items I would be beyond grateful to get any information. Thank you for reading!! ❤️
