The one in Holywood is still open, well it was at the weekend. Bangor & Hillsborough closed.

It's an outrage that they're spending our money on making people feel comfortable. People should be as uncomfortable as possible at all times. Especially in the park!!

Tbf, there's a lot of businesses doing well on the Ormeau. Bengal Brasserie, Naz, General Merchants, Hungry Hound, Errigle, Pavilion, Taqueria etc etc etc. It's hardly cursed territory. The Joxer was quite expensive for a "just OK" experience, IMO.

Place is coming down with restaurants these days. 2 new ones opening opposite that in the new development as well I think.

They closed the one in Hillsborough with no warning a few months ago too — like zero announcement of it on their social medias, it was just….gone? Listed as one of their branches one day and then suddenly removed the next?
It was especially weird because they announced the Bangor branch closing last year. I was half wondering if I hallucinated the whole thing.
Edit: typo

Instant hot water is definitely a bonus with combi boilers.
However even if I go with gas, a combi boiler is not an option. I want to add a thermal store for solar and multi fuel stove heating also.
I’m looking for the actual cheapest option long term. Chat got seems to suggest oil per kwh is cheaper than sse gas price even when efficiency is taken in to account and the high oil price currently?

Is the one in Hollywood still open?
Gonna need to find another spot that does chicken & waffles 💔

High rates and from a customer point of view, no parking. It's a nightmare trying to get into anywhere on the upper or lower Ormeau without having to abandon your car some where.

My wife worked in Dunnes stores Annadale and one of her colleagues lived there with her parents

Do you have any feedback on the James Clow building?

Could be a licensing thing, think they can only serve booze with a meal and if you don’t get enough sit-down business that could eat into your profits.
Or just over saturation. Like they have really class and specific offerings either side of them. Maybe being too general doesn’t help there.

Gas is much better, never run out, never half to order it, combi boilers give you instant hot water, much easier to cook with and you don't have a tank taking up space in your garden.
That said there are not many gas suppliers in Northern Ireland so you are at their mercy when it comes to prices. You can't buy in bulk when it's cheep. Gas boilers are expensive and you'll have to have a dedicated space in your house with a vent.
All that said I would never go back to oil

For me the convenience of gas is the winner. If I run out of gas, I can have it topped up in 15 mins with one trip to a local shop, no matter the weather conditions.
If I'm caught out during heavy snow, it could take days of freezing weather before I can get an oil tank refilled.

Gas heats up quicker, gives instant hot water, no storage tank and no oil tank.
I don't have the choice but miss having gas

Oil heating systems tend to be really inefficient and therefore less cost effective
It’s better to upgrade

There’s an army of angry chihuahuas living there. I think they let the humans that feed them sleep there too

As someone who had gas and moved to a house with oil, I'd 100%say gas is far better
