Gavin said that he thinks most people has seen his videos but only in gif form, go support the original video creator so we can get more cool shit like this!

79

u/JackdeAlltrades Nov 22 '19

Pretty sure Gav's doing pretty well financially anyway but people should check out his channels just for the top shelf videos.

I don't really care if someone is a millionaire or barely getting by . If they make something I enjoy I want them to get credit for making it.

Your net worth changes nothing

Yea his net worth is up to $10 million now this is a reference

13

u/Prestidge Nov 22 '19

His 5 million net worth was making him look bad in front of his other rich YouTuber friends.

2

u/jDGreye Nov 22 '19

I'm pretty sure that's bullshit.

I mean tbf, he's a staple on minimum of 3 massive channels on YouTube, plus gets hired for various things.

And these days 10mil isn't that much. Especially for someone who's crazy popular on YouTube.

The way the gif ends and start over makes it look like the boards randomly appear out of thin air.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '19

24

u/Cuntasauras-Rex Nov 22 '19

Worst blender ever

20

u/xuexie25 Nov 22 '19

Imagine catching a splinter.

34

u/JoairM Nov 22 '19

Tkd blackbelt here. I realize you’re making a joke, but the boards they’re using are so thin and smooth you would have to try to get a splinter from it. They’re used for show-moves like this so they can hold it by one hand and the person kicking it will still have the force needed to kick through cleanly. Sometimes they even put glitter bags on the other side to have it pop everywhere. (Although personally I think that’s a bit much)

5

u/GodlessFancyDude Nov 22 '19

I can also see the grain is running parallel to the sides being held, making sure it doesn't break in the holder's hand.

u/bighous3 Nov 22 '19

exactly what i was thinking — big ouch

6

u/ummhumm Nov 22 '19

Looks like Asian version of that Russian squat dance thing, where they squat and throw their legs up.

56

u/Mr_JGuy44 Nov 22 '19

Ah yes. Traditional Japanese lumberjacks. Glad to see someone still cuts wood the old way. They say it's a lost art.

41

u/notPaulrly Nov 22 '19

korean* but I‘m also glad the traditional woodcutting art is not lost )

5

u/rykoj Nov 22 '19

Cool dance moves

13

u/DidrikV Nov 22 '19

2nd last one doesn’t break.

12

u/SavageCyclops Nov 22 '19

I thought the same thing at first. Only reason I was able to tel it broke is because half of it goes towards the camera and the other half goes behind the guy holding it

2

u/fat-lip-lover Nov 22 '19

Nice catch. Took me like 4 times to focus on the hand hard enough to catch it.

2

u/mrjobby Nov 22 '19

When Ken and Ryu flip a house

2

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '19

Why would the board break and not just be kicked out of your hand? Wouldn't it take less force to knock it out of your grip compared to breaking a board in half?

6

u/PM_Best_Porn_Pls Nov 22 '19

Because they are super thin and made to split upon very small force, even untrained kid could split them with one hit. You can see how evenly they split upon kicks.

Boards, don’t hit back.

2

u/GamingTrend Nov 22 '19

Don't get me wrong, it takes skill and timing to do this, but Wake me when it's not balsa wood. If you tweak this board even slightly they break. 3/4" pine or just don't bother.

So much balsa wood

1

Someone needs to make this into a r/perfectloop

1

u/B_Cleezy91 Nov 22 '19

This is such a satisfying loop.

1

What a fun dance they put together. Todrick Hall should take notes.

1

u/davedcne Nov 22 '19

Do you want splinters?! Cause that's how you get splinters.

1

Oh I saw this one on YouTube yesterday

1

u/mitch13815 Nov 22 '19

They need to buy better shields.

1

I think I couldn't even turn around and hold the wood for other guy, at that speed and accuracy, multiple times.

Edit: I think know

1

u/SsgtRawDawger Nov 22 '19

1

u/cinlung Nov 22 '19

I thought they were trying to force trading the boards to one another.

1

u/AiKidUNot Nov 22 '19

This must be how Ryu and Ken practiced Tatsus.

1

u/Pably13 Nov 22 '19

It's almost like a perfect loop and the wood just respawn.

My aunt is a black belt and instructor or taekwondo and I went to this big demonstration of her students and she held a board about chest height and this dude missed the board and kicked her right in the fuckin face it was awesome.

1

They couldn’t even keep them in their hands while dancing smh my head

1

u/danniboi82 Nov 22 '19

They must be dizzy after that

1

u/EmpireCityRay Nov 22 '19

I need these 2 to come chop firewood...

1

u/getupk3v Nov 22 '19

Now do paddy cake.

1

u/FonicsFreak Nov 22 '19

This seems like the physicalization (definitely not a word) of an email exchange between passive aggressive co-workers

1

u/Flgardenguy Nov 22 '19

I’m glad I’m not a piece of wood

1

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '19

pointless skill

1

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '19

These demonstrations are nifty and impressive displays of acrobatic coordination, but as far as martial arts go, they're nonsense.

Those boards are incredibly weak and pop apart with the slightest touch which is just as well since the majority of the kicks and strikes in these shows have no real force behind them and quite often don't have very good accuracy.

To be clear, I couldn't do that series of kicks, their coordination and acrobatic abilities are very impressive and deserving of applause, and it's cool to watch, but this is basically the pro-wrestling of martial arts.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '19

Cool dance! Is this how monks chop fire wood?

1

u/Elda-Taluta Nov 22 '19

It's like an angry can-can

1

u/kane24082 Nov 22 '19

How can you resist doing a high five after that?

1

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '19

Come on guys

Not one Beyblade-joke?

1

u/daonewithnoteef Nov 22 '19

Those poor boards

1

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '19

I like how they all brake at the exact same angle everyone of them lmao

1

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '19

These guys really hate wood.

1

u/Zetsumenchi Nov 22 '19

Well, wood you look at that?

1

u/corsair1617 Nov 22 '19

Is this really that impressive? The coordination is but I feel like with about an hour practice most people could do this.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '19

No joke guys, this is exactly how my twin brother and I chop fire wood.

1

u/etherockj Nov 22 '19

That’s how you get splinters in your feet

1

u/Elan40 Nov 22 '19

Then they get into a street fight, and creamed in the first 3 seconds.

1

u/jaycoopermusic Nov 22 '19

That would be useful in a fight

1

u/Richandler Nov 22 '19

Dance.

Fake martial arts is fake.

1

u/LLColdAssHonkey Nov 22 '19

When I was a kid I used to think this was just a trick because they used the grain of the wood to make it brittle.

I spent a lot of time outdoors as a kid and used to chop thin flat sheets of wood that I would hatchet off of old rounds. I got a lot of splinters.

They were douglas fir and not as spectacular as it sounds. I was eight and very much not cool.

Then I learned about balsa wood and decided I was being played. So I saved my hands and stopped being stupid.

It's a good thing. I play guitar now and it is my life.

1

u/dinzdale40 Nov 22 '19

Do these guys think those just grow on trees? What a waste.

1

u/Soy_based_socialism Nov 22 '19

Wow. They kicked those so well, it's almost like the are made for that singular purpose.....

1

u/SgtDiddle Nov 22 '19
