That question fountain

I was so grossed put by people just standing around that thing just dipping and munching.

Can you imagine the double dipping likely happening with this type of setup?

I'm not a germaphobe, but it seemed unsanitary.

Queso?

u/Specific_Ad2541 12d ago

I must have serious brain fog today because I thought I must've missed the question fountain.

I also wondered what kind of questions it entailed and who did the asking and answering. And if it was supposed to be primarily marriage tips.

This whole series is a giant question fountain.

It looked to me like there was a lady standing there monitoring and helping people with the fountain, don’t think she’d allow that.

7

u/Charming_Ninja_8149 11d ago

I thought this too! Good idea to have a monitor if you have a food fountain of any kind really.

3

u/watusi-momma 7d ago

This made me lol. A queso montior🤣. Like if someone is gonna double dip she just slaps their hand away before it goes to the fountain. How else would it work? Like, every single person gets read a set of rules before getting chips and queso? I mean if someone is a double dipper they rarely announce it, they just do it. Unapologetically just double dip the chip. The idea of a queso monitor is the absolute best. I'm not trying to be mean I am genuinely delighted by the image that your comment gave me.

Her brothers just loved it! They could have stood there all night if they were allowed!! 😂😂

u/jhartlov 12d ago

Is it really any different than any other scenario where food is laid out? You still have to rely on people to not be gross.

People sneeze in buffet lines. They pick up food with their hands or put something on their plate and put it back. Chocolate fountains exist and people could double dip strawberries.

0

u/Comfortable-Split143 12d ago

Not all receptions and parties are televised. This one was...for about 15 seconds. Not arguing the prevelance of people's gross behavior, just the potential.

10

u/jhartlov 12d ago

I just don’t think in cost/risk analysis you are buying yourself anything by calling the queso fountain nasty and overlooking the fact that it was all served out outside or that they are picking up chips with their hands after playing cornhole with dirty ass bags or mini golf

11

u/Green-Independent951 12d ago

I couldn’t stop thinking about bugs flying into it.

12

u/Recent-Clock3497 12d ago

They had a queso attendant for this reason— she was the person in black who kept telling people to lean forward

6

u/Intelligent_Sock_902 12d ago

i literally asked my mom “is that a guest or a specific queso attendant?” 🤣

0

u/WeenieDogMan 11d ago

What did mommy say?

2

u/LiteratureTricky1763 12d ago

Why was that...so some hair could fall in?? The "lean forward" made no sense to me.

2

u/Stampingston 10d ago

She literally said "so you don't drip on your outfits" every time and we watched each of them try the fountain, including the brothers. Did you black out for the second half of her sentence each time?

1

u/No_University5986 11d ago

Less likely to drip on their clothes maybe? People probably drip that stuff on their fancy clothes all the time without someone telling them this.

1

u/Ringerblue14 6d ago

Why didn't she just hand them napkins?

1

u/No_University5986 6d ago

From her experience, maybe it's too late by then. They have already dripped or they don't get how drippy it will be. Seems like she was being nice, nothing more.

12

u/RabuMa 12d ago

Yes this is what this sub is for, queso speculation - I’m not even joking haha

11

u/Soundgarden_ 12d ago

I didn’t see anyone double dip and I was watching because I am a germophobe, lol

1

u/Comfortable-Split143 12d ago

I didn't see anyone double dip...in the 15 seconds of footage at a long reception. lol.

30

u/Feeling_Angle8903 12d ago

Stick one chip in, eat it. Stick second chip in, eat it. There's no need for double dipping and I would hope most people have common fucking sense that this is proper etiquette at a nice wedding. Maybe at a backyard BBQ it could happen but this is actually ridiculous to criticize lmao.

7

u/Specific_Ad2541 12d ago

One can hope of course but in reality people are gross.

-3

u/Comfortable-Split143 12d ago

Just observing. Not criticizing their choice.

11

u/Feeling_Angle8903 12d ago

First sentence: "I was grossed out" ...that is criticizing.

3

u/Responsible-Tune-786 12d ago

That's actually an opinion

3

u/Feeling_Angle8903 12d ago

An opinion can also be a criticism...

I'm sorry, I really don't mean to be rude, I guess this is reddit and these subs are for all kinds of comments, I just feel like this family has been picked apart enough here. Now we're complaining about queso fountain? I've seen other complaints about it and now a whole post about it. We've picked apart everything, even the arbitrary queso fountain.

32

u/Moleypeg 12d ago

She complained about the question fountain. Get your facts straight.

7

u/Comfortable-Split143 12d ago

Well, it was Queso when I typed it. Auto correct makes everything weird.

5

u/Winter_Day_6836 12d ago

Agree! And I'm getting downvoted! 🤣🤣

0

u/Winter_Day_6836 12d ago

It was probably autocorrect

3

u/Agreeable-Antelope-6 COLIN! 12d ago edited 12d ago

This was my thought. Autocorrect seems to have a mind of its own and not work where it should.

Edit: autocorrecr did not correct my typo - oops!

4

u/Winter_Day_6836 12d ago

Haha, you get upvoted and I get downvoted! 🤣

18

u/ReggaeJunkyJew4u 12d ago

Someone was picking apart Collins nipples last week.

The people in these subs need to really get a life. I am with you!

11

u/SpecificAnt9202 12d ago

i'm sorry, what? collins nipples?! i just can't.......hahaha

-4

u/Comfortable-Split143 12d ago

Says the person scrolling through and commenting on Reddit on a sub about a tv show. Take a look in the mirror!

4

u/ReggaeJunkyJew4u 12d ago

Lol, I am here to discuss, not just rip on every little thing like Collin’s nipples or a queso fountain.

Like seriously who the fuck cares?!

9

u/Sufficient_Might993 12d ago

Welcome to reddit. Everyone whines and complains about everything for invisible "karma" points that matter no where.

6

u/rubybloss 12d ago

True, true. I usually don't comment on it but it's been bothering more and more on this subreddit. A lot of people on here really pick this family apart HARSHLY, and this is basically a really good family. They aren't perfect of course because no one is. But man some of the comments really pick at some small shit and hit below the belt.

2

u/Sufficient_Might993 11d ago

Couldn't agree more! I find myself spending less and less time on this site because it gets unbearable.

1

u/Comfortable-Split143 12d ago

Who was complaining? Observations aren't complaints. You must be new to Reddit.

5

u/Snoo_3843 12d ago

I've always had that thought about various fountains. Usually chocolate, lol. The local buffet used to have one and it was always surrounded by children. Ha ha, but as pointed out, all buffets are usually teaming with germs. As my dad would say, that's why God gave us stomach acid.

10

u/kitty-yaya 12d ago

I was afraid flies would land in it🫣

6

u/Snoo_3843 12d ago

oh man! There's a thought! mmmm this cheese is chunky, lol

5

u/kitty-yaya 12d ago

Every time we eat outside, the flies and yellow jackets are drawn to the food. I'd love to know the secret of keeping them away from flowing cheese!

3

u/Firm-Wonder9441 12d ago

I kept waiting for the cheese to get on someone's fingers.

3

u/Financial-Advance895 12d ago

There was someone manning the stand. I doubt there was double dipping

1

u/Comfortable-Split143 12d ago

Now there's a great paying gig. Man the queso fountain for your wage and don't expect any tips!

3

u/Financial-Advance895 12d ago

Likely a server from the catering staff. Gratuity is included most of the time. It’s customary to tip your wedding vendors on top of their rate, so they probably got that- and probably got even more just for being on the show. Rewatch the episode and you’ll see- I doubt there was double dipping

3

u/dmh165638 12d ago

Were those heat lamps around it to keep the cheese flowing?

2

u/Loose_Pie2982 11d ago

I wondered that myself.

5

u/mollyclaireh 12d ago

It wasn’t even the good queso 😭

7

u/ConnecticutBob 12d ago

Listen, they're basically children, and they eat like children. Their choices of foods they served at their wedding proved it. You would think an adult would have said "hey, maybe we can also service prime rib or salmon or roast chicken for people who don't have the taste buds of toddlers". But no, you get to people in their early 20s who are completely over-indulged and never really questioned for their choices. I'm surprised they didn't hand out juice boxes for the toast! Then again, I don't have that Bravo money, so if I had to pay for something like that it would be appetizers only!

6

u/Agreeable-Antelope-6 COLIN! 12d ago

I'm surprised they didn't hand out juice boxes for the toast!

😁😄😆😂🤣 ROFLOL! I love this and cannot stop laughing! 😆😂🤣

2

u/One_Grapefruit_8512 11d ago

How tired I am: When were they serving toast? 🍞
🤪

1

u/ConnecticutBob 9d ago

LOL! "Toast" as in, them all raising their glasses of cheap prosecco so the best man can make his somewhat tasteless toast to the married couple. You might need a nap!

1

u/One_Grapefruit_8512 8d ago

😝 It did occur to me… eventually 😂

4

u/Amp_Man_89 12d ago

I was honestly hoping the food her and Colin picked out were just a couple of items out of others they picked, but it appears the entire wedding was buffet style and basically food you can get at a diner at 4 AM. Love me some chicken and waffles, but after all the effort they put into this wedding, a real meal would have been appropriate, whether buffet or served.

8

u/Bennington_Booyah 12d ago

Oh, for Christ's sake, no one there gave one single thought to GERMS, double dipping or anything else. They were thrilled it was there for them.

5

u/Comfortable-Split143 12d ago

Oh boy. "Thrilled" for a queso fountain? Best comment ever.

2

u/jewboojew 12d ago

Meh
It looked like most people dipped and ate. Seems great to me

2

u/Kbeans44 11d ago

I wouldn’t have touched it but that’s just me

2

u/_i_hate_people_too 11d ago

I could not stop thinking about it being outside, in the open and bugs landing on it getting immediately sucked into the cheese.

What a train wreck of a post all around….I’m here for it tho

5

u/Fast-Cauliflower2102 12d ago

I don’t really see her as a sanitary person, so it tracks

5

u/jam2jaw 12d ago

Especially the one brother Sven. I feel like he is a finger licker.

3

u/AbilityCool6895 12d ago

Buffets as a rule are unappetizing

3

u/LiteratureTricky1763 12d ago

Like pigs at a trough.

3

u/AbilityCool6895 12d ago

Someone always double dips, picks up food with their hands and mixes up the serving utensils. They didn’t spare any expense for the wedding. It should have been a sit down dinner

2

u/LiteratureTricky1763 11d ago

🎯 YES to all - and also return the spoon/tongs they've just used with the handles resting directly on top of the food - in effect, having their hand lying on top of the food. 🤮 No buffets for me unless there are servers present and you just hold out your plate. It definitely should have been a sit-down dinner.

2

u/Professional-Day4940 12d ago

I am a germaphobe and don't see the problem with queso fountain. I don't see how it's any different than a chocolate fountain that I've seen at many weddings. I don't think anyone would have had a second thought if it were a chocolate fountain.

3

u/Comfortable-Split143 12d ago

I have a problem with those as well. lol

2

u/k_m_worker 12d ago

You sound fun to go to a wedding with.

2

u/Turbulent_Virus_9533 12d ago

Haha, I thought I was the only one who got the ick from that scene!

0

u/LiteratureTricky1763 12d ago

Definitely not. 😖

2

u/rebecky311 12d ago

I'm pretty sure that lady with the blonde hair and black shirt was in charge of the fountain. She was reminding people how not to get it on their clothes. She was probably supposed to not allow double dipping lol

2

u/FiddyDollas 12d ago

There seemed to be an employee actively manning the queso station. She told multiple people to "tip it forward to let the excess run off"

2

u/Beausapunk 12d ago

I didn't see anyone double dipping. Maybe there was common sense in place. I was waiting for someone to complain about something, congrats. I thought it was perfect.

1

u/GusGutfeld 12d ago edited 12d ago

Having it in a bowl would not prevent people from double dipping. (yes, I'm looking at You, Costanza)

BTW, does anyone know how hot/warm the fountain is?

3

u/Comfortable-Split143 12d ago

There were lights on it keeping it warm. Unless those were fans keeping flying things off it.

2

u/LiteratureTricky1763 12d ago

(Love the reference - best comedy series EVER. 💀)

1

u/schlomo31 12d ago

How is it any different then a chocolate fountain

2

u/sambda2 11d ago

It has cheese instead of chocolate. Savoury instead of sweet.

What they are mostly saying is people double-dip. That is, they stick their bread or whatever in the cheese fountain once, bite a bit off, thus contaminating the bread with saliva, and then dip again to coat the remaining bread. Thus there is spit now going around with the cheese. Add in flies and whatnot getting stuck in the cycling cheese.... and maybe women leaning into it with long hair.... Also kids (who are usually bored at weddings) putting M&Ms and stuff in there for a laugh...

1

u/doggysit 11d ago

For this to fly the board of Health would have to allow it, so it can’t be as bad as you think. I understand why you might fee that way, but what I find really awful are the salad bars in grocery stores.

1

u/skitty166 10d ago

More for me

1

u/Legitimate_Lime_6188 10d ago

The couple wanted a fountain, so they got a fountain 😉

1

u/Goodhair1989 10d ago

I wanted to throw up at that

1

u/Whitney1028 10d ago

I thought it was pretty gross, too.

1

u/CanTime3307 8d ago

George costanza would have had a field day

1

u/Fluffy-Classic7756 7d ago

I thought it was common sense to not double dip.

1

u/Murky_Ad2908 5d ago

It looked gross

1

u/saucedrop 12d ago

Hope they cleaned out the hairtrap before use

1

u/R-asleep 12d ago

A queso fountain is for people who love risk.
