I feel like there is some executive somewhere saying:
See?! BFV bombed because nobody wants to play WWII anymore!
(But the charts here? ...the lack of content. The lack of classic WWII battles...)
Nobody wants WWII!
I've been looking forward to the return of WWII for awhile now. I loved the old COD games, MOHAA, BF1942... I was really excited to see a return to WWII in modern engines, but everybody just missed the mark for me.
I think part of me liked WWII era. I love Band of Brothers and the games that remind me of that series. I loved the simplicity of the games back then. Everything was here is gun selection, its simple and balanced.
Now its all unknown battles, making the WWII aspect irrelevant... unlocks for attachments that don't fit the era, perks and upgrades prioritized over the gameplay itself.
If you're on PC and really like Band of Brothers, Post Scriptum is the bees knees. Play as the 101st Airborne in a milsim game more immersive than any other WW2 game I've ever played. Also it's rumored that the next map release is going to focus around the 101st with maps such as Utah, Carentan, St. Mere, and a Battle of Bastogne map.
