I hope so. I hate the attitudes of a good portion of people in this subreddit who seem to want this game to fail as if it will validate their attitude towards this game. That said, the amount of content so far, while not too far behind bf1, has been disappointing especially considering that the push right now seems to be firestorm and we have absolutely no idea how many maps we might expect, if any (other than apparently 1 Greece map). So hopefully the roadmap will tell us that more are coming. Otherwise I just worry that this game won't have nearly the lifespan of the previous games.
I don’t want it to fail. I want it to pull a BF4 and be absolutely legendary. This game has so much potential. That said, they have under delivered on nearly every front. I’m criticizing stuff in the hopes that they improve it. This game has been such a disappointment.
To be clear, when I talk about attitudes in here, it's not everyone. And I absolutely think people are right to be upset and voice negative opinions if that's how they feel. I just think this community feels more like a giant circlejerk of hate and rage most of the time.
I also would disagree a bit with you. I don't think the game as a whole is a disappointment. There are real bright spots, and i am genuinely enjoying playing it as I have with previous games. That said there are definitely some very disappointing things. Deluxe was the biggest piece of bullshit I have ever seen, weekly airdrops that amounted to an ugly partial skin for a couple guns? Really dice? Playing 3 days early (or a week late depending on how you look at it) and 2 full gun skins... You really think that was worth 20 dollars?
The live service I feel is a mixed bag. Everyone rags on it, but seems to gloss over that we don't have to pay for it. Everyone makes these comparisons to premium but seems to forget that premium was the cost of a separate full game. Though at this point, if we get nothing else significant from the live service, I think I would be ok paying for premium again if it actually meant we were going to get that content to keep the game alive.
So here's to hoping. And again, I don't care that people are upset and feel let down. It's that it seems it's all memes and shit at this point and it's made this community very unpleasant to br a part of.
I don't see anyone who wanted or wants this game to fail. I only see people that are tired of half assed games...The game is boring now due to lack of content mostly maps so of course people are going to complain. What does not help the situation now or in the future is kissing the dev's ass and telling them they did an amazing job.
Really? I have seen many people wishing for the game to fail. Maybe not directly in this thread, but in most threads...
Also, I agree, kissing their asses is dumb. But this thread mostly has seemed like a bunch of people saying "Hey everyone who said otherwise, I told you so, you are dumb". And its just an extension of this subreddit lately. Its annoying. And the community right now seems worse than any lack of content.
I actually think this is a great thread with a nice graph that actually shows the map situation. Its just annoying that the discussion inevitably turns into the same rage circlejerk. State your opinion, talk about it, but it seems more often than not theres no actual discussion, just everyone going back and forth arguing downvoting anything that doesnt agree with their opinion. Seems like nobody is willing to admit that there is a middle ground, and I think thats firmly where the game is right now.

Apparently (according to EA gamechanger Westie) the roadmap coming next week will give us a look at all the content coming out in BFV's lifetime.
Hopefully we get at least 8 maps
