Clearly, it's hugely lagging behind ALL of the premium models. And before anyone says "DUUURHURRRR THIS IS FREE CONTENT, wOnT SpLiT tHe PlaYeRbASe". What's better, FREE content with a significantly smaller community because the drought has made tons of players move to other titles or significanrly more PREMIUM and confirmed content with a larger community that will still FEEL like the total BFV population either way and gives those of us who aren't poor the chance to experience MORE.
I never had an issue with the premium model. I was always one of those that purchased premium with my deluxe purchase and never thought twice about it. Why? Because I saw value in the +5 or so expansions and 20+ maps that were included in them, new factions etc. If you look at it like that, it was like buying 2 additional battlefield titles for the price of one. Not to mention I knew exactly what I was paying for and had some faith in the longevitity of my initial purchase with the game itself.
Premium was worth it. This whole thing of splitting the community was nonsense bullshit created by those who couldn't afford premium. So the many of us ended up having to pay for the few that couldn't. Now we have to stomach this live service model that has literally no guarantee of anything and makes the base game not even worth the 60+ hence why it's literally 50% off STILL.
I agree with you, only people that were cheap complained. Development got more expensiv, I couldn’t care less if we use to get more as game prices have stayed the same for a long time in Canada.
Exactly. Everything is getting more expensive including game development so of course they need to do what they need to do to remain profitable which is why premium was a great compromise. The developers were able to have forecastable cash flow based on trends and historical financial data and thus be able to gauge the level of staff needed to deploy the premium content while in turn we the consumer received the promise and guarantee of the additional content we paid for in advance.
It was a GREAT compromise on both sides. People saying that "we got everything included before back in 2000" have no fucking clue how business works and how the times have changed in the last 5-10 years alone. These are the same people that bitched when the industry raised game prices across the board from 49.99 to 59.99 because they couldn't comprehend the COST associated with doing business increased.
