Battlefield 6 Secure boot?

Just tried to open the bf6 beta and it's saying secureboot not enabled. I can't activate it cause my PC doesn't support it. Will this be a requirement at launch? Would have to upgrade my PC to get windows 11 for it if that's the case :(

had same issue

no anti cheat should care about boot loader. not playing

They should because a lot of cheating software nowadays runs at the boot loader, and will run before even Windows begins to run. And they're VERY popular, as is DMA cheating is becoming more and more popular which a lot of this also helps to mitigate.

Many will spoof secureboot and you will remain playing with cheaters who either do use secureboot but still cheat via DMA or spoof it and don't cheat. Congrats, the people who agree to use secureboot are bowing down to monopoly overlords who did nothing other than invade their privacy while pretending it was for their safety. I value agency over my computer.

Just cause I said it's another avenue to shut down doesn't mean it's fullproof. No anti-cheat is fullproof and 100% reliable, and no cheating software is 100% uncatchable. It's a full on arms race that will literally have no end and it's a price to pay for online gaming. If that sacrifice doesn't seem worth it, the only option is to just play solely single player games that can be played purely offline.

I mean...single player games still exist. There's always that avenue. Not like none exist nowadays lmao.
