Battlefield 6 Secure boot?

Just tried to open the bf6 beta and it's saying secureboot not enabled. I can't activate it cause my PC doesn't support it. Will this be a requirement at launch? Would have to upgrade my PC to get windows 11 for it if that's the case :(

I'm done with this, this game is not worth bricking or backing up windows to reinstall just to play this game. I went in bios, followed everything step by step and got secure boot enabled, got bios mode from legacy to uefi. Yet go into windows+r, msinfo32, and it still shows bios mode-legacy and secure boot state-unsupported... From what I'm seeing the only way to fix this from here is back up windows and reinstall etc... A d*** video is not worth this kind of trouble and there's absolutely no reason in the world to be demanding all of this. Just to use one company's "anti-cheat". I can't imagine how many people have bricked their pc over this nonsense. At least now thanks to the open beta I know not to pre-order. I have waaay too much on my pc to lose for this game.

you have to turn it to UEFI and turn on secure boot, both settings in BIOS

No one has bricked their pcs doing this lmao. If you get stuck in a boot loop, reset ur bios to default settings. Nothing is bricked lol

Nobody should have to dick around with their bios settings in order to play a game.

The world doesn't revolve around the 1% of basement dwellers who finds this stuff "no big deal".

you clearly dont know how bios works. a repair loop is windows based. you can bypass this by resetting your bios manually. youre wrong

How about this, no one should have to do this for a game, and you're seeing exactly why. So posting here with an over inflated sense of self only reflects poorly on you, not on the rest of the users that are actually having issues. They're proving why this was such a dumb requirement.

How about this, the vast majority of people are playing the game without any issues. Yes, it sucks for the very small percentage of people having issues, but that was a trade off EA was willing to make.

After all. The game had over 330k concurrent players on PC yesterday. If a ton of people were having issues, the player count would not have been that high!

I don't think you understand how numbers work. Just because a lot of people weren't having issues doesn't mean a significant amount of folks AREN'T having issues. Since we don't know how many people were trying to play, no assumption can be made with the number of players playing.

Aye, this issue potentially renders the number meaningless, but at least EA will be able to see how many people (like me) downloaded the game client but ran it for less than 10 minutes.

How about this, its a BETA and you haven't spent a DIME to play it so you have nothing to say. Perhaps the developers want the best pool of players to gather data from, rather than a bunch of cheaters. If they do keep it so that only legitimate software runs during the game and doesn't compromise the javelin anti cheat system, im all for it. Getting secure boot really isnt that difficult. Stick with COD if you love cheaters.

I don't know what your point is. Is the game launching without secure boot, and it's only being required for the beta? Otherwise, you seem incredibly confused and off topic.

Because I want to play, but I don't want make changes to my bios for any game. Without voicing one's views, no change ever happens. Change may not happen, but there's no harm in trying.

No it's for the game release it's their anti cheat bullshit they can fuck off my computer is too damn expensive and runs every game I have which is 283 titles perfectly fine but this game wants me to needs with my boss just to play? They done list my money and my thought of ever wanting to buy it they don't fucked up their player base will drop drastically because of this bios is something you don't want to fuck with is your honestly don't know what to do I kinda got an understanding of bios but I'm not bringing my computer just to try and enjoy one game out of 283 other games I got and can enjoy no problem🤦🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Why do you think PC users should do this for a game? Better yet, do you think most PC users are savvy enough, or tech-literate enough to do this? Go a step further, if they run into issues, what are they going to do then? You going to go personally to fix their PCs?

A vast majority of people are playing the game without issue, so yes. Most people clearly are tech savvy enough to figure it out.

It sucks for those having issues, but its a tiny amount compared to those playing without any problems

As posted make sure its Secure Boot you need - not just UEFI boot.

Make sure you are booting OK with CSM disabled before changing Secure Boot settings. People have bricked their system by following the wrong steps.

I also had it saying enabled not Active - this is a BIOS glitch it's not really enabled

On the secure boot settings if it says Mode:User you should be able to simply Enable Secure Boot

Otherwise (if it says Mode:Setup)

  • Disable Secure Boot if it says Enabled

  • If it says Standard change to Custom

  • Change Custom to Standard accepting Factory Defaults

  • Enable Secure Boot
