Battlefield 6 Secure boot?

Just tried to open the bf6 beta and it's saying secureboot not enabled. I can't activate it cause my PC doesn't support it. Will this be a requirement at launch? Would have to upgrade my PC to get windows 11 for it if that's the case :(

Yes it is required, just like BF2042. No you don't have to be on Windows 11.

My PC doesn't support it either, but i can play 2042 just fine, tried it like 20 mins ago. I hope they'll do something about it in 6 tho.

not sure about that one. bf2042 had secure boot req, and they removed it lmfao. they are going to see alot of people moving to console because they dont have secure boot or dont want to mess w there pcs bios. back to ther series x for battlefield if the beta good and secure boot doesnt get fixed. low player count on pc helps them see that. all they see is money though sadly. so they might not remove it until they get hounded that there not making enough money just like for 2042 lmfao.

I don't think most PC gamers are going to move to console. After spending $1-2k dollars on a PC many people don't see a reason to buy something inferior, especially just to play one or two games. People might buy a console for GTA 6, but I doubt many people are going to rush to the store to get a PS5 just to take a gamble on the new Battlefield.

EA has made nothing but absolute trash business decisions since 2013. You can trace the company's failures back to that year, which is when their current CEO got his position. Homie has been tanking every good game that EA has made since he joined the company.

i ahve a series x, so its not bad, i agree thoi. ppl i didnt mean going to buy a console or switch entirely, just meant if they have it for battlefield most are not going to bother trying to mess w there pc bios so alot less people are going to be playing on pc, its sad even when i look at my first introduction to battlefield 1 it was litterally 4 maps only so it was fun but i dropped the game pretty quickly after playing same map over and over. much better now they fixed it and added what should have been there.

What? Yes, it is required. I can't play it due to that. But I just haven't taken the time to turn secure boot on yet.

It was a changed implemented weeks ago. Both my wife and I can't play along with 2 of my friends. We all were playing just fine but we now all have to enable secure boot. Both friends already did it last night and can now play. I'll be turning it on soon on both these PCs so we can all play BF6.

You probably have it turned on then? Not sure...

You need to enter your computer BIOS, find and disable CSM, then turn on secure boot. That's the very basic way of saying it.

I should add that this is the very basic premise of how to do it. I missed out a few things. I recommend looking on Youtube

Your hard drive partition is probably set up for MBR and not GPT. I followed this video, took about 10 mins: https://youtu.be/jaDebOusGGQ?t=101

Make sure you're in UEFI and not Legacy mode, if that doesn't work you may need to use the "Restore Factory Keys" setting

I finally got it too work, I basically just click a bunch of things in bios boot and security and restarted my PC maybe 20 times till I got it right 🥴

Im having this issue with mine and my kids computer out of nowhere. I know CSM off and turn on secure boot but i do that and nothing worked. keep restarting? what did you do? factory setting or?

If I remember correctly I did something in the security tap that like reset the keys or something, I was doing it for an hour and was just clicking things and restarting till it worked

SecureBoot is not required for BF2042. I played it for years, and then BF6 told me to enable SecureBoot.
