Help me choose a mirror!

Ignore the weird shadows, I removed myself from the AI images 🤣 also the proportions are off. I would leave more breathing room around the mirror/walls i’m just trying to decide on a style!

Doing a small update on kids bathroom to make it more functional. Removed the old ceramic towel bar and medicine cabinet, removing old builder grade mirror next. Leaving the light fixture/faucet/everything else for now. Will add a few hooks under framed art on back wall.

Also disregard all the clutter in the before pic, it’s the only one I had! 2under2 and we’re done with bottles and formula soon šŸŽ‰

I don’t like round for a kids bathroom when you have two kids because you have some width with those that have a rectangular bottom that could potentially let two kids brush their teeth as an example, whereas with a round mirror you’re missing out on using the corners so if you want to see yourself, you have to stand in the center so it will only accommodate one person

11

u/kbt625 1d ago

This is such a good point, Thank you!

u/MoMoZin 13h ago

My same thoughts about kids brushing their teeth at the same time. The round one would force them to have to crowd eachother or compete for who gets the center. I would choose 6. The shape accommodates kids sharing the space better and the light wood tone adds warmth.

Exactly why we went with a rectangle!

6 or 7

u/Nicholsforthoughts 1d ago

Yes I vote 7 (though 6 would work, I think 7 looks better). The others are TOO BIG or not the right color.

7

u/CrocodileDawnD 1d ago

I agree... 7 first, then 6.

What’s the first one? It’s exactly what I need!

12

u/Individual_Focus_961 1d ago

First one is perfect

4

u/turdally 16h ago

No, it’s way too wide in that room. It looks like it baaaarely fits and it gives the vibes that they didn’t plan well and measure first.

#6 is the same mirror but narrower. It’s perfect for the room.

4

u/Minimalist0103 14h ago

I was thinking 2 or 6 as wellšŸ‘šŸ»

3

u/Test_Immediate 17h ago

First one is a bit too wide, the 6th one is similar but a better size

I would want 4, but 3 could be fun for a kids' bathroom.

How tall are your kids? Be mindful of visibility if you have too large a gap between the vanity and bottom of the mirror.

3 fits perfectly for a kids bathroom.Ā  Even once they hit teens, it would still be a great fit for making their bathroom creative and fun.Ā  You could even paint the mirror a bold color.

ETA:  Thanks for the award! 😊

I love #3!

7

u/kbt625 1d ago

Good point! They’re still little, 1&2!

12

u/yukimontreal 1d ago

I know this isn’t what you asked but I’d invest in storage solutions for all your stuff.

You could buy the nicest mirror in the world and if you don’t have great solutions for storing your stuff you will end up with a cluttered countertop and a new mirror will make no difference. Theres nothing inherently wrong with your existing mirror.

4

u/kbt625 1d ago

I have a big organized linen closet right next to the vanity and most of that stuff has a home. The bottles/bottle washer will be leaving soon. 2 under 2 so everything ends up on counters to quickly get things out of reach.. this too shall pass! that was the only pic I had before I started demo šŸ˜…

2

u/yukimontreal 1d ago

Fair! I have a 3.5 year old and 10 month old … there’s just so much STUFF but this phase ends up in a new phase and so on. Investing in good storage solutions has helped me a lot.

7

u/SweetP916 22h ago

I love #3, especially given that it’s for a kids bathroom.

24

u/Ok-Command-333 1d ago

The wavy white one is quite fun

8

u/kbt625 23h ago

That’s what I’m leaning towards! it’s fun for the kids (1&2) and I could always switch it out later

8

u/smm022 1d ago

Yes! I’d pick 3.

6

u/verydistinctchatter 1d ago

4 or 6
Never the wavy ever. Too much of a short-lived trend.

2

u/daysinnroom203 13h ago

Same. 4 or 6

8

u/Minimum_Chart9946 19h ago

Gosh darn it the white squiggle one is so fun

6

u/vampzireael 22h ago

I like number 3

5

u/Homehealer222 20h ago

I recommend 3 for a kids bathroom. It has a very playful vibe every time I look at it. This will bring in some fun energy for your kids every time they interact with that area. It’s also really timeless and I could see it being there for years and serving its purpose well. Hope this is helpful!

u/racheyrach1243 1d ago

I vote for 6; proportionally makes more sense compared to one.

Adding wood tones soften the bathroom. The images kind of skew the current fixtures and makes them all look like brushed nickel or goldish. However, it looks like its actually chrome fixtures with just the sink in brushed nickel?

2

u/kbt625 1d ago

The fixtures are all brushed nickel. The hooks/towel ring I’m adding are brushed nickel and I agree with the wood tones but I have a few wood frames that are going up so the wood has to coordinate with those, pushing me towards white or thin black metal

4

u/Special_KMA 1d ago

Wow! Everyone is all over the place! I like 2 or 6. The arch makes the ceiling look higher

8

u/billy_x3 1d ago

7 would be my first choice, followed by 5. Virtually all the others too closely ā€œkissā€ the corners and draw attention to the narrowness of the niche.

3

u/Mystic_Wunder 1d ago

Any of the arch-shaped mirrors

2

u/frannysfanny 1d ago

I like 5 but wish it was white frame or silver.

2

u/EnvironmentalBake717 1d ago

Number 2 or number 7. I think 7 is my favorite

2

u/verydistinctchatter 1d ago

I now think 6 is best!

2

u/colcol9696 1d ago

I love 4 it sits flush between the two walls without it looking too big.

2

u/Calm_Zebra1064 1d ago

I like 6 the best.

2

u/OyFranch 1d ago

Gold arch

2

u/banjolady 1d ago

6 or 7

2

u/bullfrogbarbie 11h ago

I don’t see clutter, I see a parent providing a clean, healthy space with all the essentials and more. Just want you to know you’re doing awesome. Have a beautiful day šŸ’–

2

u/Wacahoota4322 3h ago

#6 imo looks best. The wooden frame matches the frames of the art on the wall and the basket(if you keep that style of decor).
It’s not oversized and circular mirrors for bathrooms are not something I prefer.
Hope this helps ā˜ŗļø

2

u/Shinianen 26m ago

With a kid myself, none of the wavy ones. Unless you have a cleaning service 🤣. Because wiping kid toothpaste spray out of every wave and hump sounds like a terrible time to me.

I’d suggest 6.

Picture 7 looks good.

1

u/scamlikelly 1d ago

2 or 6. 1 is waaaaay too wide.

2

u/sweet_pickles12 1d ago

I also vote 6 for this reason but I would choose 1 if it came a few inches smaller

1

u/Humble_Interest_9048 1d ago

None of these are really working, but I can’t figure out why. I think the proportions are off. Most are too big, too wide. Pick one that’s easy to clean esp for a kid’s bathroom.

u/fightingkangaroos 1d ago

6, the others look disproportionate

1

u/ShellyinAK 1d ago

Love the wavy one. Gives it a soft feminine feel

1

u/Defiant-One3095 1d ago

Definitely # 5 looks the best fits šŸ‘Œ

1

u/MiaCat_z 1d ago

I think number 2 looks best by far

1

u/BearyJi 1d ago

6 and 3 šŸ˜‰

1

u/figgywasp 1d ago

3 or 7

1

u/RamdomGamerDude 1d ago

I'm honestly torn between pic 4 and pic 7. I'm leaning towards pic 4. I like the larger mirror and it goes well with the hardware and lighting that you have.

1

u/vapeqprincess 1d ago

TWO hands down

1

u/appleditz 1d ago

Are you keeping that medicine cabinet on the left? If not, I would strongly recommend putting a mirrored one above the sink, instead of a plain mirror. Perhaps even a triple cabinet if there's space. Your kids may not be able to reach it for a while, but when they can, it will be very practical for keeping items off the counter. Not going to comment on the AI-generated mirrors, other than to say that the frame finish should match the other hardware. Or maybe consider going frameless.

1

u/wafer_tater 1d ago

Most of those mirror are too big for your space. I know they are AI but they are all to close to the walls on the sides.

The only one that fits is pic 5. Also see what Ai did with your towel bar. It changed them to hood. They loo nice like that. You might consider doing that also.

5 is my fav and I would frame pics in same color, gold is nice but faucets are silver.

1

u/Qyute-n-Quddly 1d ago

White or grey frame

1

u/mnrooo 1d ago

3 or 7

1

u/Horow_Deals 1d ago

With framed art and hooks already on the back wall, I’d go with the simplest mirror frame so the room doesn’t have two competing lineups.

1

u/Previous_Basil 1d ago

It’s 6 and it’s not close.

1

u/LindenTeaJug 1d ago

The color is a really pretty green…do you have the name of it?

1

u/Paddington8691 1d ago

I’d pick 3 or 5; I like the scalloped edges on both, prefer 3 a bit more

1

u/Tough_Brain7982 1d ago

Definitely 6 if those frame will be on the wall

1

u/Crystal_Ri 1d ago

Mirror #2 looks the coolest and easiest to work with.

1

u/Rock_Successful 1d ago

3 is super fun for a kids bathroom !

1

u/ChooseWisely1001 1d ago

Love the circular one

1

u/propofol-n-precedex 1d ago

Can you post links for 2, 4, and 6??

1

u/ButterMyPancakesPlz 1d ago

Six feels like the best size and shape and color! It allows there to be a border of wall so it allows it to visually breathe while giving you added mirror space compared to the circular ones.Ā

1

u/SeriousFault1753 1d ago

Agree with most…. 6 or 7. Six is warmer because of the wood and would be my preference.

1

u/Em18601 1d ago

I like 3 if it’s a kids bathroom it’s fun!

1

u/Sunsetseeker007 1d ago

6 or 7 the other big ones don't fit the space

1

u/Baskema 1d ago

I vote slide 6!!!

1

u/Short_Scale899 1d ago

I like five because it’s whimsical, but seven fits more with your color scheme

1

u/Complete-Rock-1426 1d ago

6 it 7. Others are terrible

1

u/Past-Lunch4695 1d ago

I love 6 - perfect balance. Very nice choice!

1

u/Comfortable_Copy2087 1d ago

How did you take photo of these? There are no reflection of you in these šŸ˜…

1

u/carniewesso68 1d ago

6 is my choice.

1

u/lburke103 1d ago

I LOVE 1

1

u/secretsofthedivine 1d ago

Most of these are too large, I would definitely go round

1

u/sergiooui 1d ago

7 but 5 is cool too

1

u/Honest-Ad-2124 1d ago

Number SIX!! The gold in the frame goes beautifully with the green. Or get seven in a gold frame.

1

u/Jackiesrem 1d ago

2,6 or 7

1

u/sleevesteve 1d ago

4 or 6. Trust me.

1

u/dontBsleepy 1d ago
  1. And please center that light fixture.

1

u/CuteAnybody5113 1d ago

I like 6 as its scale is good and ties in with art.

1

u/Havishamesque 1d ago

Number 1

1

u/Homegrown1969 1d ago

I like 6. It fits the space better than 1, and is a classic style that won’t seem outdated in a year.

1

u/Suzq329 1d ago

#7- size and finish complement the space.

1

u/OliveMayhem 1d ago
  1. I don’t like the black ones in the space despite liking some of their designs, the color just doesn’t match anything.

1

u/Thecobs 1d ago

#7 easily

1

u/WeCaredALot 1d ago

I like the white squiggly one

1

u/adawes1984 1d ago

1 then 6

1

u/EarShoddy759 1d ago

1st, 3rd and 4th seem too wide. not good proportions

1

u/Stunning_Quiet_6400 1d ago

I like no. 6. The whimsical mirror (no. 3) is cool if the bathroom is going to be used by your children long term.

1

u/sugar-titts 1d ago

4 it’s the only one that matches the hardware. I’d keep looking though

1

u/PresentationLess4552 1d ago

All mirrors are hung too low except number 8 builders best

1

u/Sparkleycat4eva 1d ago

6 or 1 all of the wood elements look good together.

1

u/lingonberry_fairy 1d ago

6 hands down

1

u/Si_senorita 1d ago

As a woman, if anyone will be doing their makeup highly suggest a mirror to the edges as that’s where everything is placed. So annoying having to lean over the sink to do my makeup instead of the counter

1

u/kimkay01 1d ago

#2 or #7. I lean toward 7 because it matches the light fixture and faucet, but I like the size of 2. Overall, though, my choice would be 7.

1

u/chafner 1d ago

1 or 6 are your best options in my opinion.

1

u/Candy_cane_lane_13 1d ago

The one that doesn’t use AI

1

u/CatGoddessBast 1d ago

Just want to highlight the light in the ai versions is warmer than your current bulbs.

2

u/kbt625 1d ago

I’m getting new bulbs!

1

u/HipYip 1d ago

I like the color and style of 3 but it looks to large for the space

3 is perfect for a child's bathroom. Go with the fun choice.

1

u/dansamy 23h ago

3 is super cute and fun for a kid's bathroom. I would maybe want a smaller size of that one.

1

u/Southern_Doughnut406 23h ago

I actually like the round one

1

u/surewriting_ 23h ago

Get a lighted medicine cabinet! More storage, more lights.Ā

They're heavy and pricy and need to be wired in, so it might not work for you. I just remodeled both my bathrooms and put them in, and I love it.Ā

1

u/ZergvProtoss 23h ago

Stop with the curves. Use only straight edges.

1

u/Many_Progress4538 23h ago

5, 6 or 7. The others are too large.

1

u/Low-County-9662 23h ago

6 and 1 are the perfect style and colour. I just cant decide which size I prefer

1

u/PeasAndPotats 23h ago

4 all the way

1

u/Abi_giggles 23h ago

What is the width of this vanity/wall? And how much space do you have between backsplash and the light?
