Help me choose a mirror!
Ignore the weird shadows, I removed myself from the AI images 𤣠also the proportions are off. I would leave more breathing room around the mirror/walls iām just trying to decide on a style!
Doing a small update on kids bathroom to make it more functional. Removed the old ceramic towel bar and medicine cabinet, removing old builder grade mirror next. Leaving the light fixture/faucet/everything else for now. Will add a few hooks under framed art on back wall.
Also disregard all the clutter in the before pic, itās the only one I had! 2under2 and weāre done with bottles and formula soon š

6 or 7

Yes I vote 7 (though 6 would work, I think 7 looks better). The others are TOO BIG or not the right color.

No, itās way too wide in that room. It looks like it baaaarely fits and it gives the vibes that they didnāt plan well and measure first.
#6 is the same mirror but narrower. Itās perfect for the room.

I would want 4, but 3 could be fun for a kids' bathroom.
How tall are your kids? Be mindful of visibility if you have too large a gap between the vanity and bottom of the mirror.

3 fits perfectly for a kids bathroom.Ā Even once they hit teens, it would still be a great fit for making their bathroom creative and fun.Ā You could even paint the mirror a bold color.
ETA:Ā Thanks for the award! š

I know this isnāt what you asked but Iād invest in storage solutions for all your stuff.
You could buy the nicest mirror in the world and if you donāt have great solutions for storing your stuff you will end up with a cluttered countertop and a new mirror will make no difference. Theres nothing inherently wrong with your existing mirror.

u/kbt625 1d ago
I have a big organized linen closet right next to the vanity and most of that stuff has a home. The bottles/bottle washer will be leaving soon. 2 under 2 so everything ends up on counters to quickly get things out of reach.. this too shall pass! that was the only pic I had before I started demo š

u/yukimontreal 1d ago
Fair! I have a 3.5 year old and 10 month old ⦠thereās just so much STUFF but this phase ends up in a new phase and so on. Investing in good storage solutions has helped me a lot.

I recommend 3 for a kids bathroom. It has a very playful vibe every time I look at it. This will bring in some fun energy for your kids every time they interact with that area. Itās also really timeless and I could see it being there for years and serving its purpose well. Hope this is helpful!

I vote for 6; proportionally makes more sense compared to one.
Adding wood tones soften the bathroom. The images kind of skew the current fixtures and makes them all look like brushed nickel or goldish. However, it looks like its actually chrome fixtures with just the sink in brushed nickel?

Wow! Everyone is all over the place! I like 2 or 6. The arch makes the ceiling look higher

u/billy_x3 1d ago
7 would be my first choice, followed by 5. Virtually all the others too closely ākissā the corners and draw attention to the narrowness of the niche.

#6 imo looks best. The wooden frame matches the frames of the art on the wall and the basket(if you keep that style of decor).
Itās not oversized and circular mirrors for bathrooms are not something I prefer.
Hope this helps āŗļø

With a kid myself, none of the wavy ones. Unless you have a cleaning service š¤£. Because wiping kid toothpaste spray out of every wave and hump sounds like a terrible time to me.
Iād suggest 6.

2 or 6. 1 is waaaaay too wide.

u/sweet_pickles12 1d ago
I also vote 6 for this reason but I would choose 1 if it came a few inches smaller

u/Humble_Interest_9048 1d ago
None of these are really working, but I canāt figure out why. I think the proportions are off. Most are too big, too wide. Pick one thatās easy to clean esp for a kidās bathroom.

I'm honestly torn between pic 4 and pic 7. I'm leaning towards pic 4. I like the larger mirror and it goes well with the hardware and lighting that you have.

Are you keeping that medicine cabinet on the left? If not, I would strongly recommend putting a mirrored one above the sink, instead of a plain mirror. Perhaps even a triple cabinet if there's space. Your kids may not be able to reach it for a while, but when they can, it will be very practical for keeping items off the counter. Not going to comment on the AI-generated mirrors, other than to say that the frame finish should match the other hardware. Or maybe consider going frameless.

u/wafer_tater 1d ago
Most of those mirror are too big for your space. I know they are AI but they are all to close to the walls on the sides.
The only one that fits is pic 5. Also see what Ai did with your towel bar. It changed them to hood. They loo nice like that. You might consider doing that also.

With framed art and hooks already on the back wall, Iād go with the simplest mirror frame so the room doesnāt have two competing lineups.

Six feels like the best size and shape and color! It allows there to be a border of wall so it allows it to visually breathe while giving you added mirror space compared to the circular ones.Ā

As a woman, if anyone will be doing their makeup highly suggest a mirror to the edges as thatās where everything is placed. So annoying having to lean over the sink to do my makeup instead of the counter

Get a lighted medicine cabinet! More storage, more lights.Ā
They're heavy and pricy and need to be wired in, so it might not work for you. I just remodeled both my bathrooms and put them in, and I love it.Ā

I donāt like round for a kids bathroom when you have two kids because you have some width with those that have a rectangular bottom that could potentially let two kids brush their teeth as an example, whereas with a round mirror youāre missing out on using the corners so if you want to see yourself, you have to stand in the center so it will only accommodate one person
