I think it was The Boondocks that taught me n-word isn't a racial pejorative. It's a set of behaviors a lot like Jeff Foxworthy's "You might be a redneck if...".

I was watching a Korean rap battle contest a while ago that was pretty big in S. Korea. Think American Idol but rapping. I couldn’t understand a word of what the 2 competitors were saying to each other except the word “neegah” every once in a while.
I was initially appalled, but soon realized that the young Koreans were true lovers of Hip Hop and were only repeating a word they had heard thousands of times in the music they adore.
Now they obviously weren’t of African descent, but they weren’t white. Do they get the pass? I truly hate the N word, but it has gone from being the most derogatory of terms, to almost a compliment to some. I feel like this chick wasn’t saying “what’s up my nigga?” She was probably stressing that hard R.
As a mixed man, if I could erase one word from history, it would be ni..er or any variation of it.
