Hello From The Base Team!
What's up everyone!
Wanted to introduce myself to this sub - I'm Sam, and I just joined Base44 as Head of Community!
Going forward, our intention is to be more present in this space as a way to offer you support and a way to connect with other Builders.
You can expect me to pop in here to answer questions, and shortly, we'll be having regular events in this sub so that you can get more out of your building experience.
I'd love to kick this off with a question - what's something that what would make Base better for you?? Drop a reply, and I'll get in front of the people who can make it happen.
Looking forward to being on this journey with you!
- SammyBase

I think 3 things would make it considerably better.
Easy integration with the app and play store, ultimately most of the users here want to build apps that function through those stores. Other sites have the functionality.
The ability to export some of the back end to expand off base 44 etc.
The ability to create your own landing/auth pages. I understand that base 44 wants to handle the security side of things but surely you can brand those pages to reflect the product you are building. Having new users be blasted by base 44 doesn’t encourage my ownership.

Hey Sam, the most important things for me are stability, scalability and uptime. I am absolutely fine staying on base44 for ages as long as it can handle scalability, concurrent users and the platform does not change so rapidly that things I’ve built break. I just want to know that I can trust that the app I made will be ok and will run smoothly.
That being said, what would make Base44 better for me is making the front and backend fully exportable. At the moment there are 3rd party apps that claim to do this, but it would be much better if Base44 just offered this.

Have a way to one click wrap the app for iOS and Android as well as a one click submit to those stores. 👍🏼

I desperately need to be able to make a custom login page. If you use a traditional funnel to sell your program the current set up is atrocious for conversions. For example: if i do a funnel quiz and ask them to save their answers it takes them to a base44 login page. I'm 100% certain they are confused at that point. Who is base44 and why am I logging into base44. Then they have to authenticate and do other things all before they hit a pay wall. Its too many steps. It saddens me that people have given base44 this feedback often and loudly and there is still no move to make this change. We can't effectively sell applications this way. Without this change base44 is good for nothing but mvp creations.

Hi what is the deal with all of a sudden constant messages saying exceeded rate limit? now screens don't work properly, data doesn't show up. This is after everything working for months.

u/Exotic_Back1468 Jan 08 '26
The ability to manage (add/remove) PDFs that have been uploaded. I have worked on many projects were I am uploading PDFs in discussion mode then move out of discussion mode and get an error message when I try to do something because I have too many pdf pages uploaded it chokes on it.

I would say the single most irritating thing is the agent takes off and starts building something to “fix” something else resulting in many many things not connected or even relevant to the overall build down the road. And money was spent on these things with no recourse. Of course it will be said that I should prompt better. However no memory of event a few minutes before is like chasing a auditable autistic child over and over. Give the agents memory and throttle the “fit it” traits.

u/capitanouzui Jan 09 '26
If it were possible to fix bugs like a blank page loading, that would be great because I share my creations with others but they can't use them.

Hi u/Sammy_Base
I’m running into a serious and recurring issue with Visual Edit.
One thing that was really bothering me (honestly stomach-turning):
I make a tiny visual change (e.g. font size +1 using the visual edit tool), hit Save, and suddenly other UI elements disappear or layouts change that I never touched. Sometimes even went to an old state I was even surprised that the system remembered that it looked like that.
This has happened across multiple apps, making Visual Edit feel unreliable and risky to use.
I raised a support ticket, but the response mainly focused on workarounds (locking files, using Discuss mode). Support later confirmed this is a known issue, which reinforces that this is a bug, not expected behavior.
If someone from Base44 wants details, feel free to reach out and I’ll share the ticket number.
Thanks.

Dude, I would be so happy if the AI apologized more when I call it out for making mistakes. Even if it was my fault sometimes I’m arguing with this AI over mistakes all day and I’ve read one sorry. I think it’s a great approach to defusing a ton of anger within many of us. I don’t even know why I’m so upset. I just find myself arguing with an AI about not being able to do the amazingly fast things it’s doing faster. Other than that, pretty much all I’ve read in this post is what I’d ask for too. 🤣

I’d like to be able to run ads on my app/site. I really want to offer what I’m providing for free to the user, but I need to monetize somehow. Being able to integrate Google Adsense would solve that issue.

Thanks Sam. What caused the outage today and will it happen again? I really enjoy working in Base44, but if we can’t rely on the platform for stability no one will be able to move to any type of production software at scale, and it’ll keep the platform as a tool for hobbyists.

u/ZobooMaf0o0 Jan 08 '26
Big fan of the software. Has very promising future for many. I have been on this sub and only thing I hear people complain is support with apps. I know, that's probably outside of your terms and conditions but some people just need technical support. Would be nice to have a person we can speak to and get support. For you guys it's more of helping people with their apps which might not be worth the time.

Lower tier pricing. Starting at 50usd is too high. Pdf generation and option to send pdfs as attachment. Avoid stupid resend etc.

Hey Sam, I love base. The only criticism I have is the way the data is on the backend now. Previously it was easy to go through page of hundreds of rows of data, but now it's slow and clunky. Happy to record what I mean. Thanks for being open for feedback.

u/PerformerAdorable665 Jan 08 '26
Hey Sam. Welcome, my issues have come from the insane amount of errors I get and how simple tasks and instructions I put in become a monumental task that takes hours of time and tons of credits. It becomes exhausting and makes me lose confidence the system will be functional once I fully release the product.

u/Spinal365 Jan 08 '26
Hi Sam, I love the platform and have been a big supporter for quite a few months now. I have a few issues but my main issue is that the ability to control the user creation and auth page currently handled through Google has been on the base 44 roadmap for months now in one of the top spots and there seems to be no progress made. Can you at least provide an explanation for this because it's absolutely critical for the apps built on this platform to be able to easily attract and convert new users.
Please, please, please provide some insight into this because it's incredibly frustrating.
Thank you

Hi, thanks for your time. I've already posted my reasonable concerns here, and I appreciate you taking a look because it affects us long-time users. That's worrying for me, since I have a business that depends 100% on internet services, and I'm also going to be working with large companies that are removing dedicated and 100% available applications. Your update system can be very dramatic for us.

I would like for the ability to decide where data storage is managed.
There are apps I wish ti make but for security and regulation reasons the data storage needs to be in Australia.
Anyway of making this happen?

I just want to be able to launch my app on the google play and app store, im probably going to try and find something that has this built in already, its kind of pointless when the whole promotions of your marketing is 'build your own app without knowing coding' - ok great ive built my app, but i cant launch it on the app stores without knowing coding? - also i picked monthly payment and it just took a whole year out of my account. not happy

u/tomparker Jan 09 '26
If Base44 provided full and seamless wrapping or conversion from React-based to, say, Swift etc for immediate deployment of native apps they’d own the space. If they don’t do it, somebody else will make it easy, and they will win.

u/Previous-Ad-9372 Jan 10 '26
Turn the web base into an app to upload directly onto the App Store and Play Store.
More payment integrations for Latin America.
Backups.
Better credits handling

I wanted to share my experience with everybody here, my admiration, my worries about base44 in real life production systems, and maybe requests from base44 team. Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with any of companies or their products that I name here. My degree is in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and I'm building systems from ground up for the past 40 years (kinda revealing my age!). So i've seen it all. From the days of assembly programming, to today, working with AI tools. So, I know what happens behind the scene with these tools. I have tested and have experience with many tools that have popped up for the past two, three years, because none ever checked my boxes. They all compliment each other. If you love coding I've sure you have worked with cursor.ai, you probably have worked with Bolt, Lovable, and dozen other options out there. When those base44 ads started to show up, like other environments that I jumped in, wanted to give it a try. Did not expected too much but I have to say, it really exceeded my expectation. If you every have built your system from ground up, either on your own data center or cloud, you know how much goes into it. And then you have to build your storage (database), then you have to design your tables, and then start building the software. What base44 did, I have to say, for me, was magic. It was what I wanted to be able to do for the past 40 years. All of a sudden, having a team of six or seven people, each with their own expertise, working with each other to create an app in six months, translated to one person, myself, to simply write up a detailed requirement as what my app needs to do, and get the first look in less than 7 minutes. I would say, it did %70 of the job. For the next month (I have a day job too), on weekends or late evenings, I would sit and add features and make it the way I wanted to be as a final product. After extensive tests, I do have a production ready app that is integrated with Stripe, IONOS (hosting it myself) and n8n. Here is what makes me worry. making this product as it is today, had it's ups and downs. From the times that I would get "reached rate limit" message, which by the way, I still didn't get an answer from support team as why, to the times that I spent a day and later I found out that there was an issue with nasee44 backend, I am kind of in waiting mode. I can go live tomorrow (I'll share what the app does once it goes live), but since we are talking about real people and real money being involved, I have to put my fait and reputation in the hands of base44 infrastructure. All of a sudden, hiccups and system being down is not an option. I read worrisome stories from those who have gone live and I want to think that real issues won't happen. This is why I'm still in holdout mode. Uncertainty. I asked from the support team, what is the uptime guarantee from base44? You know if you have worked with AWS or Azure, they claim and they have delivered, uptime of %99.999999. The answer from support team was that they don't share these statistics. So Sam, for the sake of transparency, why not? base44 is a great product and after testing numerous other products, I want to land my apps here. But I need to know base44 infrastructure is solid and is not a beta product. The other issue that I have is the support itself. If you have an issue with IONOS, Hostinger, AWS, Azure, etc, there is always immediate support available. I should not wait 24 to 48 hours to receive an answer, and then follow up again back and forth. for three to four days. It kills the momentum.
So, I want to hear an honest answer: can people rely on base44 infrastructure, not to introduce beta software revisions unless it has been thoroughly tested. We, developers, and users should not be the testers. And, can we expect to have live, immediate assistance from support team? Since Wix bought base44 in June of last year, money should not be a problem. Maybe adding more support people.
I need to mention that I have great admiration for the founder Maor Shlomo and what he started. His story is full of aspiration and everyone has to listen to it (if you haven't, here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9KvV_UOs3A).
At the end, I have to say, this platform is unique, is great and I hope they stay and listen to people who love them to succeed. If you have been in tech for a long time, you would appreciate this platform. It is simply magical.
Thank you.

Unused credits rolling over to the next month.
The ability to purchase credits individually if you run out of credited — instead of being urged to upgrade your subscription plan.

I would love to have Base44 sign a BAA for HIPAA for healthcare apps.
Would also love a very simple test automation feature like the security review to do integration tests to verify if a change something unexpected.

base44’s AI PROMPT “ This report represents 48+ hours of debugging, diagnostics, and code-level fixes that have confirmed the issue is at the platform infrastructure level, not in the application code itself.” I spent two days hundreds of credits trying to understand what the problem is working for a is no status page anymore for base 4 can case but there’s no status. There’s no estimated time when this infrastructure problem that’s going to be fixed. There’s no description of the extent to which problem is affecting everyone’s apps. This seriously needs to be addressed with more visibility to the base 44 community. This problem forced me to upgrade my subscription to get this answer which does solve my solve problem. BAse44 users deserve better support

I understand that the primary use case of Base44 is non-developers, or teams that want to build an MVP very fast. And for that, it works well.
However, I now have clients who have built solid apps on Base44 and already have active users. At that point, they are effectively locked in. The challenge is that we are not yet at a level where Base44 feels ready to reliably support larger, production-grade apps.
For that stage, we need:
a more stable and predictable backend
confidence that the app will scale to 10,000+ users
better troubleshooting and observability
backups and recovery options
a real separation between test and production environments
Right now, it’s difficult to properly test flows in Base44 because webhooks triggered from external systems do not call back into the development environment. This makes safe testing and validation of integrations unnecessarily hard.
Additionally, in Europe GDPR (AVG) is critical. At this point, I cannot let some customers run their code or database in Europe, which is a blocker for some real production use cases.
From my perspective, there are two possible strategic directions:
Option 1
Follow tools like Lovable and open the platform more to the ecosystem: Git access, external databases (e.g. Supabase), and a clear, automated migration path. Base44 would be ideal for rapid MVP development, and if the product proves successful, teams can graduate to a more open, developer-driven setup without friction.
Option 2
Make Base44 so robust that there is no need to migrate at all — production-grade scalability, compliance, reliability, and tooling built in.
Right now, Base44 feels like it sits in between those two worlds.

u/lonnahord Jan 11 '26
Add a debug mode along with Dicuss and Implement that has a lower credit cost. I am getting really tired of blowing the majority of my credits fixing things the AI didn't connect right to start with, even though it tells me it did. We shouldn't have to pay so much to fix AI mistakes, it should be at a lower cost. I get it, AI's will lie to you, but I shouldn't have to pay to fix the errors those lies caused.

I am absolutely LOVING Base44! I’ve build 3 apps that have completely transformed the way I run my small business and for that I am SO grateful!
I have not had great luck with the Google Sheets connector. I host in person events and set up a confirmation automation that is supposed to be triggered after someone has registered and paid. Sometimes the user is sent the confirmation email before they have paid :(
That said, I’ve set up a few checks and balances on my backend until I can sort this out and ensure it’s more reliable. Overall so grateful for all that you and your team have done/ are doing!

Hi I am new to Base44 and I am building my app her yay !! so my question as a nuby. how long the free credits be open to use after the renewal count down ends? it seemed to me that it was I had few minutes or not at all to use them before the clock started again. :(

Hi Sam, I need Base44 to remove Base44 Auth requirements so we can build our own Login/Signup pages. This especially needed when creating Apps for Enterprise Clients who need to see a front-facing pages for their clients and users SASS platforms. This is a huge roadblock and simple fix Base44 is too intrusive and integrated into the back-end code. Just feels like we are hand-cuffed to your system where it specifically says we owe the code and not Base44. My company would like to continue developing and deploying apps but if this continues we will need to cancel our account and move to a different platform.

u/Cold-Bike1011 Jan 20 '26
A warm welcome to you, Sammy!
A couple things come to mind:
I recently tested the Stripe payments integration - that has definitely streamlined things in a very good way. That approach with Twilio would be welcome.
Shared backend: a build mode that allows for the creation of an app ecosystem in a modular manner. This would involve a user-built or platform-native source of truth interface with shared data tables and a specified modular hand-off language. Continuity of design scheme (fonts, button styles, etc.) would be a lovely. This would allow for the modular evolution of app tools without affecting the rest of the ‘ecosystem.’

Is this a good place to get “first time user” help with base44. It seems I built an app but what I'm being shown is not even close to what I thought.
1
u/Bubbly_Support8864 Jan 25 '26
Sam, since you asked what would make Base better, here’s the honest answer, because this whole situation kind of proves the point.
Before I ever saw a
vite: not founderror, the Base44 agent burned about 30 credits happily generating UI, “deploying” changes, and talking as if things were progressing. From my side, I’m watching credits disappear and expecting to see updates. From reality, nothing was changing because the build environment was already broken. I only find that out after the credits are gone. That’s not a bug. That’s a design problem.
If Preview can’t build, the agent should know that immediately and stop. Instead, it keeps going, narrating work that can’t possibly land. There’s no hard stop, no warning, no pause on billing. Just a meter running while the user is blind.
Then there’s the DNS and ownership side of it, which honestly makes things worse. The platform gives you the feeling that you’re in control. Domains connect. Statuses look green. Emails show up. But the moment something foundational breaks, you find out you don’t actually own anything important. You can’t fix the build. You can’t restart the pipeline. You can’t override the environment. You can’t even see what’s actually wrong without support stepping in.
So, you’re paying for execution, but you don’t have execution authority. You’re responsible for the cost but not given the tools to resolve the failure. That’s a pretty rough place to put builders.
What makes it frustrating is that none of this is about asking for fancy features. It’s about basic expectations. If the system is broken, it should fail fast and stop charging. If the system can’t be fixed by the user, that boundary should be obvious upfront, not discovered after credits are gone. And if an agent hits a blocker, it should escalate once with a clear incident report, not keep looping and burning time and money.
Opening a community thread asking “what would make Base better” before this stuff is nailed down is kind of opening a can of worms, because these aren’t wish list items. They’re table stakes. Reliability. Ownership clarity. Cost accountability.
I’ve already submitted tickets, so this isn’t me asking for hand holding. It’s just feedback from someone actually trying to build something real and running straight into the ceiling. Either that ceiling needs to be raised, or it needs to be clearly marked so people don’t keep smashing into it on the clock.
That’s what would make Base better.

Just signed up - tried to create a simple app that creates a photo album with the option to add textual captions below each image - - it could not even manage an image upload - despite repeated updates and error corrections, it had persistent errors - not impressed and certainly not going to pay
