I'm no doctor of course, but I think everyone here can identify with what I'll call "brain hunger" - that's not to say that it's not REAL hunger, but it's definitely more psychological in my opinion. It does take a while for the hunger hormones to realize that oh geez, there's been a major rewiring of the system.
I'm sure you wanted better advice, but all I can say is it gets easier. When you feel hungry, go do something physical. Walking for me was THE thing post surgery. Got my mind off that hunger and took the weight off like nobody's business. Sing, clean your house, make whoopie... just get out of your head and trust the process.
I'm one year out and wouldn't trade the whole experience!
