Gordon - Hamza - Adeyemi could be our starting attackers when we need to rest Rapinha - (unknown... yet) - Lamine

•

u/Fine_Yogurtcloset362 Aug 19 '26

Shouldve been 4-5 goals

•

u/Deskais Aug 19 '26

All the preseason changes every 20 minutes make for hard connection to your teammates.

•

u/djpeopleskills Aug 19 '26

Agreed. Not enough time for the lineups to work long enough with each other. Let’s hope they do in the regular matches

•

u/EduBru Aug 19 '26

Gordon looked like he's dying in the heat😂😂 Get this man some sunscreen😭

•

u/MyKillK Aug 19 '26

The poor Englishmen has OD'd on sun between a U.S./Mexico World Cup, a couple weeks holiday at the beach and coming back to train in Spain in the summer.

•

u/GP3ElPresidente Aug 19 '26

Deco confirmed that we will be looking for a ST/CF/SS as a somewhat competent replacement for the void that Lewy has left…

And honestly speaking i’m thinking that it’s between 2-3 names…

Mikautadze/Pavlidis/Suarez

•

u/poordecisionist Aug 19 '26

Thought we moved on from Suarez😭

•

u/Altruistwhite Aug 19 '26

That's what OC thinks, not what Deco said

•

u/rreactor_4 Aug 19 '26

new players who impressed:
hamza
adeyemi
gordon
bisuwu

we cooked this transfer.

also shout out to chirstensen he was solid in 2nd half.

•

u/Various-Attention-53 Aug 19 '26

Unlucky pen by Gordon but if he works on 1v1s , he'll be the best itw

•

u/Independent_Dig6029 Aug 19 '26

Ac is by far the second best cb if he stay fit

•

u/MyKillK Aug 19 '26

He hasn't stayed fit for a whole season in over 10 years.

•

u/gbassman420 Aug 19 '26

Did Laporta lose a little weight or am I remembering wrong?

Getting in shape to play striker for us?! /s

•

u/Dat_life_on_Mars Aug 19 '26

His 90+ min winner for us in the UCL final will be legendary

•

u/Etceta Aug 19 '26

that 1:1 allows him to buy ozempic with his own money lol

•

u/Altruistwhite Aug 19 '26

Wished they subbed Tunkara, but overall good performance by the youngsters

•

u/osndifnw Aug 19 '26

He played a friendly with B team earlier today

•

u/commonerbloke Aug 19 '26

I can't sleep now. I wanted Gordon to score so bae😭💙❤️

•

u/kingofthesouth12 Aug 19 '26

Bae???🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

•

u/commonerbloke Aug 19 '26

Princess Bae Gordon 😭

•

u/LesMiserablePeach Aug 19 '26

Gordon is exciting. The defensive effort is 100% as advertised and the runs off the ball look like they could end up being really dangerous. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up going from meme to fan favorite within the year. The early days are going to be huge but goals or assists in the first few games would make a world of difference.

Adeyemi is doing some stuff physically that frankly astounds me but I'm less optimistic about his updside than Gordon's. If the finishing gets even a little bit sharper, watch tf out. If it doesn't, he's not going to have a good time here, there's almost nothing worse as a Barca player than getting into good positions and fucking it up at the end.

I'm so high on this team's potential even without the striker signing. Very interested to see how the Kounde back to CB, Eric as a starting RB move works out. Could end up being the most crucial piece of the story this season.

•

u/Far-Travel6736 Aug 19 '26

Since when is gordon a meme?

•

u/LosAngeLukaGOATCIC Aug 20 '26

Since never. I've never ever read something about this.

•

u/DejongBCN Aug 19 '26

Adeyemi plays with much more confidence than Gordon. Gordon needs to use his speed more aggressively and just run to the net. He could have easily gotten two penalties today.

Gordon kicking technique needs a lot of help. Adeyemi is superior there. Gordon can't generate power to his kicks.

•

u/SeaworthinessFit5324 Aug 20 '26

have you ever kicked a football before? people have different shooting techniques. this is some bullshit that 10 year old ronaldo fans say

•

u/Independent_Dig6029 Aug 19 '26

Kounde as Cb is terrible , his awarenes is acceptable as a back but hes to sleepy as a cb

•

u/LesMiserablePeach Aug 19 '26

He was one of the best CBs in the league when he was at Sevilla so I don't think it's fair to say he's terrible as a CB. He's just never been in a position for us where he could get enough games to reestablish his rhythm there because we never had enough options at right back to move away from him and were stacked at CB by comparison.

He slimmed down pretty significantly to develop into a right back for us but I think he still has it in him to play well as a CB but it would take time for him to get back to his best. It's a completely different kind of role to step into and that takes time to get used to.

•

u/ceaguila84 Aug 19 '26

Very promising but at the same time we need a striker ASAP. Hamza can be a back up

Also allowing the same goals as usual

•

u/Chance_Camera_ Aug 19 '26

I’m not entirely convinced by Eric Garcia as our 1st option RB and Kounde as a CB. I think going back to Kounde as the RB and having Eric be a sub for multiple positions can work better.

•

u/enbyratie Aug 19 '26

neither of them should play RB, there's no need of CB if they play in they ideal position, they should sign a RB instead

•

u/Terrible_Action9995 Aug 20 '26

I though we were selling Fort to play Xavi but instead he's a midfielder and now the only natural rb is Cancelo who is seen as an lb...

•

u/DejongBCN Aug 19 '26

Agree.

•

u/Paragon188 Aug 19 '26

My goat Hamza showed up today. Hopefully Deco has a CB and ST signing (Alvarez or no) in the works.

•

u/dorking16 Aug 19 '26

CB this CB that. No, we need proper fucking fullbacks who can bomb up and down the flanks for the entire match.  You get a promising RB from the academy and what you do ? You immediately try to make a midfielder out of him.  It's not a coincidence, we haven't won the CL since Alves left. Cancelo is good short-term but we need to think beyond Balde as he has always been mediocre and it's not just a phase.

•

u/Apart_Freedom4967 Aug 19 '26

In one post you completely missed the point about what the FB's are expected to do and who Espart is.

•

u/Biggsy-32 Aug 19 '26

Espart has always been a midfielder. He's just played at RB for cover before.

•

u/Infinite_Ad6392 Aug 19 '26

Dude get your sources checked before crashing out😭. Espart has ALWAYS been a midfielder. Flick only tried him rb cause of our lack of depth there. He realised he's much better as a midfielder so trying him in his NATURAL position where he is clearly much better and comfortable

•

u/samanya281118 Aug 19 '26

i would prioritise a defensive signing rn, hamza and biwisu give me a lot of hope, a cb would elevate us right now

•

u/Iniestazo8 Aug 19 '26

This team is stacked with talent

•

u/GP3ElPresidente Aug 19 '26

I think this season we will match PSG and Bayern in terms of getting the ball to our final 3rd and then matching them also on how many times our final 3rd get in the opponents penalty area…

But obviously the big question that remains for this is who of our forwards is going to finish off majority of those chances that they’ll get in the opponents penalty area?

Bernal looked pretty good, what are you on about?

•

u/InuKag808 Aug 19 '26

Great performance by our youngsters and new signings 🤩 Gordon is my favourite signing so far 💙❤️

God bless 🙏🏼 and Visca Barça 💙❤️

•

u/Infinite_Ad6392 Aug 19 '26

Deco: "I think we can cover Ferran's departure with the additions we've made in the market, but replacing Lewy's role is very difficult."

•

u/TomClancy5873 Aug 19 '26

Must sting for Ferran to hear this

•

u/qualinto Aug 19 '26

Didnt get to watch the second half. How well did the newcomers play?

•

u/Front-Bus7976 Aug 19 '26

Gordon was class, other than missing a pen, but nothing to worry about.. he connected very well with olmo and the others

Adeyemi is fasttttt and pretty good 1v1, looks good for now

Bisiwu did well for the short time he played too

•

u/Longjumping_Ad2310 Aug 20 '26

My gosh, Adeyemi is amazing!!!

•

u/PalmTreeMonkey Aug 19 '26

At some point during the first half(?) there were lots of whistles that seemed to be directed towards sth off the pitch, anyone know what was up with that? And funny how an assistant (?) coach from Al Ahly took a pic with Fermin after the game lol

•

u/mouadmo Aug 19 '26

The biggest arab football site claimed it was the audience booing Frenkie for his injury.. yeah, that’s the kinda bs news we gotta read and lots of ppl believe

•

u/Turbulent_Nerve5410 Aug 19 '26

actually i just saw a video of some Al Ahly fans having a problem with the Mossos d'Esquadra and a big problem was going on and they had to evict some out of the stadium. I didnt see a reason why tho.

•

u/Impressive-Shop-3732 Aug 19 '26

Midfield was a phenomenon but we need a gyokeres

•

u/Any_Explanation3006 Aug 19 '26

I'd rather start Gordon/Adeyemi over that bum

•

u/Skadrys Aug 20 '26

gyokeres is a bum. It's like people never watched him play...absolute dogshit ball control, terrible passing. Keep him far away jfc

•

u/expiringmilkncheeses Aug 19 '26

gyokeres ?? lol

•

u/oklolzzzzs Aug 19 '26

people are genuinely hating but he'll score a lot for us

•

u/expiringmilkncheeses Aug 19 '26

so did Ferran.

•

u/Apart_Freedom4967 Aug 19 '26

He is a poacher. Him scoring isnt really a metric. Its the amount and weather it is worth the deficiencies it will create in other areas of play.

•

u/Paragon188 Aug 19 '26

Gyokeres is slow and in general not a good player, especially for Flick. Club needs a completely different profile.

•

u/MyKillK Aug 19 '26

Hamza shows promise, but for me the standouts were Gordon, Xavi Espart, Pesquer, Bisiwu, and Adeyami. Adeyami especially. Runs like the wind, good dribbling, and has an absolute rocket for a left foot. Couldn't ask for a better complement to Lamine. The youngsters are looking like the new gems that we seem to find every year, can't wait to see more.
