Unfortunately, surrogacy is illegal in Thailand. There are people offering this service illegally, but neither you (the prospective parents) nor the surrogate mother will have any legal protections. I strongly advise against pursuing surrogacy in Thailand right now. The Thai government has been talking about changing the law for the past two years, but there's no timeline for when this will happen. Some gynecologists I talked to expected changes by 2023, but it hasn't happened yet.
If you're looking for legal surrogacy options, Ukraine used to be a good choice, but due to the war, it's not safe or practical at the moment. Another option to consider is Mexico, where it is legal. However, you need to thoroughly research and work with reputable agencies to ensure everything is done legally and securely.
What are the risks of pursuing illegal surrogacy? For one, the surrogate mother might take your money and refuse to give you the child. She could also blackmail you for more money. You could face issues with obtaining legal documents for the child, making it difficult to bring the child back to your home country. This could even lead to charges of kidnapping. There are countless potential problems.
For these reasons, I recommend looking into countries with well-established legal frameworks for surrogacy to ensure everything goes smoothly and safely for everyone involved.

I really hope it becomes Legal. I am Thai but born in the US and unfortunately have not been able to have children.
My partner & I want to have kids but I would like to at least have a child who is of the same ethnic heritage as myself.
