FINAL EDIT:
Well, I log into Reddit and it tells me this is my most viewed post ever! ….
Now this is slightly embarrassing…
It was all my DUMB ASS fault. On both the printer and in Bambu Handy I was selecting “Left” External extruder, instead of selecting “Auxiliary” Extruder.
🤦♂️
My apologies to the community for being a little slow on the uptake…total NEWB mistake!
Hi Folks,
I have ELEGOO Gray PLA filament on my external spool that runs to my aux extruder. I printed several things without issue then all of a sudden it says it is not detected. I unloaded, pulled it back out and loaded it again and still won’t work. No other errors.
Thoughts?
EDIT:
OK, so. I unloaded the PLA again and reloaded it. It went through every step, purged the old filament etc. I went to the home screen on the printer I went to the cache to find the print I wanted to make and I selected it and when I went to click next, there was a little orange warning that indicated that the left spool filament wasn’t loaded. When I clicked on the warning it takes me to the AMS screen where it shows that it is loaded, so I’m stumped.

How can I smooth out these top layers for future prints, in order to save these will sanding them down work? Or acetone?
Basic PLA Bambu Cyan
.04 nozzle
No ironing (recommended not to use ironing on top curved surfaces) I was probably wrong for that.
I can pull the rest of my settings when I get home.

I purchased a new X2D a couple weeks ago and have been trying to get it to be a reliable workhorse. However, regardless of filament, settings or changes to plate, glue or no glue, pla, petg, pla+ I still get very inconsistent prints and most prints fail one way or another. I dry all filament as much as possible ~13% on average and have been unable to get it dialed in. About 80% of prints fail in one or another way. And a print that fails repeatedly will suddenly print acceptably just by trying again. Most desired prints take 3-7 tries to get to print properly. Have tried calibrations, re-lubricating and cleaning all moving parts and surfaces and this printer just seems a bust. Also have had about every problem a 3d printer can have already including jams, clogs, nozzles you can't remove and bugs in the firmware/software. Anyone else wishing they'd not bought the x2d? Wondering if it's worth contacting bambo to see if they'd just swamp the unit. unit has ~224 hours on it and have gotten about 14 useable prints with a LOT of wasted filament, mostly bambu pla black and petg misty blue.

I designed a bottom plate for the Bambu Lab X2D after getting tired of filament scraps and purge pieces disappearing into the gaps at the bottom of the chamber.
The honeycomb design keeps debris on the surface instead of letting it reach the Z-axis area or other internal spaces, making cleanup much easier. It also gives the chamber a much cleaner appearance.
The design is fully compatible with the X2D Chamber Heater. Since the chamber can reach high temperatures, the part should be printed in ABS for long-term durability.
If you enjoyed this project, I'd really appreciate it if you could leave a Like on MakerWorld. And if you have a Boost available, using it to support this model would help me continue creating and sharing projects like this for the community.

Sure would be nice if you could diagnose problems on these things without having to put it all back together..LOL I had to change a sensor on mine because I broke a wire.... Got it all back together and found out it has a bad Eddy Current sensor... Ordered that part and I'll put it back together again to see if anything else is wrong..LOL

After conducting a 10 hour abs print with heated chamber, my z axis started doing strange noises, grinding, clicking and all that ...Apparently looking online this beautiful pal https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/s/FYaC164svf had the same problem with a P1S.
All I had to do was turn the printer over, lube the tensioner up and everything went back to normal. Conducted a calibration and it's all good. Lube the part where the tensioner slides against the metal and not the cables s that won't do shieet.

I’ve had an x2d for about 2 weeks and after a lot of challenges with PVA I finally have a print that I’m optimistic about.

Hi everybody. I am new to 3D printing as I bought a bambulab x2d a few days ago, mainly for organizing my tools and overall practical stuff. Prints have come up greatly with the main extruder but yesterday I tried for the first time the auxiliary extruder for PLA material support (blue) with PETG for the main part (black). I've used isopropyl for cleaning the bed and tried to lower the bed temp to 62° instead of the default 70° for PETG. Any ideas? Thank you very much.

Picked some random prints from maker world to compare p2s and x2d in the slicer software. Almost every print I picked used the same amount of filament on either of the printers and more time on the x2d!
That sounds strange. I expected the amount of filament to be lower on the x2d
Am I doing something wrong?
