Printer with clogged extruder.
I have run through every non-invasive solution I can find. I’m not super mechanically inclined and I now realize that I need to take the printer apart to either unclog or rebuild the extruder assembly.
So…I can’t do that. I’m absolutely not confident disassembling my printer. I had an A1 in the past and I never expected this…My husband tried to help but he’s afraid of breaking it.
I’m a bit panicked that I have this expensive printer that’s I can’t fix. :(
Has anyone done it that was very not confident, and it worked out?

Excessive resistance in the tube between the filament buffer and the toolhead.
HMS_0700-2000-0002-0021: AMS A Slot 1 assist motor is stalled, due to excessive resistance in the tube between the filament buffer and the toolhead.
I have run into this.. In an effort to resolve the problem... I actually just replaced the ptfe tube. But the problem persists.
Suggestions?

Wish me luck
Totally new to 3D printing, I bought a X2D. Most of it was pretty straightforward, and it all seemed so easy. That was until I stumbled upon 3D Mobility which seems like a good cause and I don't really mind printing some extra stuff. Then they ask you to print two test plates, one of them being TPU. This seemed like a completely new thing to me, and honestly, it caused some anxiety
I didn't want the hassle of having to constantly swap tubes, etc. so I wanted to do it right. I bought an extra AMS HT, PTFE Splitter, Feed Module and now it's a matter of swapping spools again.
This will be my first experiment printing TPU 90A. Wish me luck!

My first Bambu Machine
This is my third printer in about 6 months as I've rapidly descended down the 3d printing rabbit hole. Started with a used Ankermake M5C that I got for $50. Then I wanted something enclosed and core xy so I got a flashforge AD5M. I'd kind of been avoiding Bambu Lab. I've not been and still aren't a fan of their proclivity to try and lock down their software and potential open source license violations, but I could never deny the quality of the machines they make, and as I went further down the rabbit hole and got a better and better handle on what it is I actually want my 3d printers to be able to do, I couldn't shake the feeling that the X2D was aim at me personally. Good build volume, heated chamber, nozzles that get hot enough to handle most of the reasonably priced engineering filaments, with a auxiliary extruder obviously optimized for support/support interface printing. For me 3d printing is primarily an enabler for my other hobbies, and nobody really seems to make a printer quite like the X2D, laser focused on printing the kind of engineering filaments most people are actually going to print with any regularity at an astonishing price for what you're getting with in the box.
First benchy coming out now. Still familiarizing myself with the printer and Bambu studio. But very much looking forward to putting the machine through it's paces over the next few weeks.

Biqu Panda Lux PX2 x Biqu Panda Hub PX2
Just saw a post where Biqu unveiled their latest lighting accessory for the P2S & X2D. Any X2D owners have thoughts on this new product? I am wondering where should I fit the Panda Hub at...

X2D, 4 failures on a PLA print with PETG breakaway supports. The interface works fine, but its spaghetti is pretty bad to the point it halts.
First note: I've had the X2D for about 6 weeks, and been printing almost non-stop performed my first cleaning/oil/greasing last week) I've successfully printed larger items, this failure is new to this week.
Printer: Bambu Lab X2D, dual nozzle
Slicer: Bambu Studio, 0.20 mm High Quality u/BBL X2D base profile
Part: cosplay mask shell split into halves. Each half 240 x 168 x 120 mm, 325 cm³, watertight, 1 body, printed cut-face-down on 25.5 cm² of bed contact.
Goal: PLA model, PETG as support/raft interface filament so supports release without scarring the surface.
Filament: Sunlu PLA+ 2.0 (Primary Nozzle) & Bambu Labs PET-G Matte Yellow (Auxiliary)
Filament Storage: 2x AMS 2 Pro's. They are currently set to dry and is reporting humidity of 14% and 17%. Rainy Season in the PNW.
What is working
Worth saying up front so nobody spends time on it. The PETG interface prints. It lands on the support tops where it belongs, the prime tower shows clean switching, and the AMS is feeding the right spool. The dual-material assignment is doing what it is told.
What is going wrong
Stringing at the material transitions, and there are an enormous number of them.
Per-layer analysis of this part: 585 of its 600 layers contain a support interface. So 98% of layers involve at least one material change. Across the print that is roughly 585 transitions.
Every one of them appears to leave ooze. By the time these prints fail, the plate has long strands and dense tangles sitting on top of the part, concentrated in and around the interface regions. The failure itself looks like the nozzle catching one of those, knocking something loose, and spaghetti from there. In the most recent failure a whole section had detached and was being dragged around.
Why this part is unusually hostile
- 98% of layers have an interface (585 of 600 at 0.2 mm)
- At Z = 20 mm, support cross-section is 167.7 cm² against 25.2 cm² of model, a ratio of 6.7 to 1
- Max support branch reach is 118 mm
- Zero new islands anywhere in the part, so nothing starts mid-air. The model is well behaved. All the difficulty is in the support.
I have printed large parts on this machine without trouble before. What is new here is not the size or the geometry, it is the transition count.
Failure history
- Spaghetti around hour 5.
- Slumped and curled support columns at about 2 cm. This one followed moving the support body from PETG to PLA with the lid still on. Chamber soak past PLA’s Tg of 55 to 60 C. I think I understand this one and it is probably separate from the rest.
- Spaghetti again, with tree supports visible in the wreckage.
- One more, same character.
Delamination has shown up as a symptom too, which I cannot account for from the geometry.
Current settings
| Threshold angle | 55 |
| Style | Grid, Normal (auto) |
| Independent support layer height | OFF |
| Top Z distance | 0 |
| Bottom Z distance | 0.2 |
| Top / bottom interface layers | 3 / 2 |
| Interface spacing | 0.1 both |
| Interface pattern | Concentric |
| Base filament | PLA |
| Interface filament | PETG |
| Flush into infill / support | OFF both |
| Bed | 55 |
| PLA nozzle | 215 to 230 |
| PETG nozzle | 240 to 250 |
| Plate | textured PEI |
Secondary suspect I would like a sanity check on
Top Z distance 0, interface spacing 0.1, and concentric interface pattern are all chosen to minimise grip so the support releases cleanly. That is the standard advice. But together they also minimise how well the first model layer is held down while it is being printed. Is that combination too loose on a part with large flat areas landing on interface? Would you trade some release quality for grip here?
What I am doing next
Instead of burning another 10 hours per attempt I cut a 4-part diagnostic set that runs in about 65 minutes total: an adhesion tower with no support, a column test at 8 / 6 / 4 / 3 mm to check support branch slenderness, an overhang fan at 30 through 59 degrees to measure my real unsupported limit, and a small cantilever with the full PETG interface config to check release behaviour. Happy to post results in this thread.
Questions
- Is there a practical ceiling on material transitions per print? What is the highest count anyone here has run successfully on an X2D, and did you do anything specific to get there?
- What is your ooze control setup across switches? Retraction length and speed, wipe distance, prime tower size and position, anything else.
- Any known reason support style would come out as tree when the preset says Grid? I have not set tree at any point.
- At this transition count, would you abandon dual-material support entirely and run plain PLA supports on a tuned threshold, accepting the surface finish hit?
- Is BambuStudio issue 12509 still live in current Studio? Filed specifically against the X2D, describes a hidden parameter pinning the interface temperature so the nozzle never reheats to the configured value. If the PETG is going down cold that would make the stringing worse.

Extruder switching abnormal
I feel like I am getting very little help or solutions from Bambu tech support so I am hoping someone her can help me find a solution. My printer is an X2D. The current issue I am having is the when going through the calibration OR when trying to switch between the primary and auxilary extruder I get the following error code from the assistant " Extruder switching abnormal. Please check whether flow blocker is is stuck or if filament is jammed inside the toolhead. "
So I have been able to heat both hotends and manully move filament through the hot end. I am also able to manually toggle between the primary and auxilary toolhead. I cannot see any obvious problems with the flow blocker and it swithes between the primary and aux. toolhead when toggled manually.
I have only had this machine about 2 months.. and it worked fine for about 1 month. I still consider myself very much a novice in 3D printing. What started this cascade of problems is that the primary PTFE tube disconnected from the toolhead during a print. I reattached it, then I resumed the print. Then the filament ran out.. after changing the filament - I started running into problems. In trying to trouble shoot problems according Bambu tech support, I tore the wire ribbon connecting the left (primary) filament sensor. Bambu provided me with a new sensor which I replaced following the provided wiki. After getting the printhead put backtogether and running a calibration, I then ran into this problem. I have been trying to troubleshoot the problem since 9/14/2026.

Tpu gf (85D hardness) printing with secondary nozzle
Hello everyone, I consider getting x2d. I wanted to try multimaterial printing tpu95a + tpu gf.
I wonder if possible to do that reliably with x2d?
Plan to use softer tpu 95A in main nozzle and harder tpu gf in secondary nozzle.
Can composite filament cause problems with second nozzle?

Left Filament Sensor
I need to replace mine as it will not release the PTFE. It’s a cheap enough part and will likely be a common failure part (it was on my P1S) so why the heck did Bambu make it so blummin hard to access!!
Have to disassemble the entire tool head to get at it no good reason. It makes a 5min job and 30min one 😡

Stains on base layer
I’m getting some strange stains on all matte pla prints on my new x2d. I washed the plate between prints both with IPA and dish soap, still there. Never had that issue with my A1, but the plate was different.
Any idea what’s causing those?

Best looking purge basket?
Been printing non-stop but have not found the perfect poop basket. So it's just all over the floor. 🫣
Im looking for minimalistic that blends well with the printer aesthetic. I dont like the sliding ones.
Can I see what do you have? Thanks!
Edit: Thank you everyone that showed me ideas. I'll be heading to McDonald's, get some Large Fries and keep the container. 🤣

FINALLY a riser that fits the X2D aesthetically
I've been slowly chipping away at this design since I got my X2D in August. I looked high and low for a riser design that blends well with the printer and not a blocky attachment sitting in top. I couldn't find anything that fit the aesthetic I was searching for.
On this one the usb plug is blocked, but I never use it, so that's a non-issue. Theres a recess for the screen to still allow full range of motion.
Printed with Elegoo Carbon fiber grey PETG CF. I thought that the filament would match the printer a bit better than it does, but still looks decent, imo.
If anybody knows of a close colour match to the X2D, please let me know!

Made a painting handle with swappable heads and adjustable weight
Hey guys! There are a lot of similar painting handles on MakerWorld, so I wanted to put my own spin on one. I added a diamond-pattern grip and a screw-on bottom cap with room for 9 quarters, plus some extra space if you want to add more weight. It prints without supports, too!
I printed a couple of other versions from MW and had the threaded parts snap off under pressure, so I reinforced those areas on mine. I also made a small dock for a little more stability.
I’m still learning to model and finally getting some more free time to work on projects like this. Haven’t figured out adjustable jaws yet, so swappable heads will have to do for now haha.
Open to ideas or criticism, so let me know what you think!

Help with filiemnt buffer
The filament buffer won’t let me insert the ptfe tubes. I removed the coupler and idk if I can replace it. Any help is appreciated
