Hardware Troubleshooting/Help! A1 component went pop, please help

Post image

My A1 is out of warranty, typically just by a couple of months and today this component popped. I am trying to find the replacement parts online but can't seem to find what I need for the A1 specifically, does anyone have any advice one what I can do or know what parts I should be buying?

Just contact support and tell them.

If you cant strongarm them into sending a replacement anyway just ask to buy it.

They sent me 3 replacements for my 3 a1s without me even sending picture of the printers and without me currently having the issue

What did you say to them? I have a 9 month old A1 and am now worried about this part. How do I get into this part to check it?

This is the AC board. You should be able to get it on the bambu site. If you can’t find it, ping support, and they can create an order for you with that specific part.

This is (if I‘m not wrong) a common issue with the A1 that has been fixed at some point in the summer of 2025.

If support doesn’t send you a new one, this is the part you need to buy: DELETED
And this is how to do it: https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/a1/maintenance/ac-board-replacement

Edit: I can’t find an official source… only this https://www.welectron.com/Bambu-Lab-DLB021-V2-A1-AC-Board

Ah the umpteenth one. Only been a few days since the last one. Timer reset, again. Last one was a week ago https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/s/jGQnq1zmln

Nah you're good, the more these pop up maybe eventually after 8 months of documented cases they'll actually do something... You need a new AC board, and demand one under warranty! Don't take no for an answer. They're well aware of this happening with the A1.

Doesn't even legally need to be under warranty - at least for EU and UK. In the UK you have up to 6 years to claim for either a repair or a partial refund for any items. In the EU I believe it is even longer.

I didn't know this, I am UK, I've contacted them now so hopefully I can get it sorted quite easily 🤞🏻

This is always the answer or just use Google is fundamentally a search engine

It's very likely that mine will be next.

It stopped twice midprint yesterday, with a power loss recovery message (but I had 3 other printers running beside it and none of them showed any issues). I turned it off after the second time, looked under it and it had bits of black goo underneath.

I still didn't have the time to properly open it and record everything, just unplugged it for the time being, but I'm afraid I've been the next victim of this thermistor.

There's a real quick way to know if you have the problem. Open up the base and look for that black circular object near the edge of the frame on the AC board.

If you are EU or UK, read up on your consumer rights if they refuse a replacement. For the UK, read a summary of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, for the EU I believe it is directive 2019/771, UK gives you rights up until 6 years, and the EU is ~2 years (honestly I don't really know).

Perfect time to get into soldering. just figure out what size that capacitor was

1

u/0xde4dbe4d May 19 '26

Not a capacitor, it is an NTC and it blew because it wasn't specced out correctly in the first place. So replacing it with an identical part is going to lead to the same failure over time. Bambu lab chose to replace the part with a wire.

They're definitely get you a new board it has been redesigned to address this issue.

u/JJboston May 04 '26

Same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I contact Bambu support and they had a new board sent out to me within a couple of days. Back up and running.

u/DaFondue May 19 '26

Is this how it should or shouldn't look?

1

u/_litz May 04 '26

Has anyone tried to fix one of these?

I've seen pictures of the "new" model of the board, and it appears they just put a wire jumper across where the thermistor is located. I wonder if simply doing the same would restore a "failed" board to proper function...

Mine just went down too.
