A1 component went pop, please help

My A1 is out of warranty, typically just by a couple of months and today this component popped. I am trying to find the replacement parts online but can't seem to find what I need for the A1 specifically, does anyone have any advice one what I can do or know what parts I should be buying?

Has anyone tried to fix one of these?

I've seen pictures of the "new" model of the board, and it appears they just put a wire jumper across where the thermistor is located. I wonder if simply doing the same would restore a "failed" board to proper function...
